PENNY BLACK BOUQUET SYMPATHY CARD

Recently the mother of a friend of ours passed away.  In her obituary it specifically noted that her favorite color was purple, so I wanted to create a sympathy card with purple flowers.  I pulled out the Penny Black Centerpiece stamp set, it’s one of my favorites, and stamped it with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink on an outline I had cut previously with my Silhouette Cameo from Gina K. Designs 80# White Cardstock.  I used Copic Markers to color the image, listed below are the colors used.

00271

From purple cardstock I had in my stash I cut a rectangle using Simon Says Stamp Bundle of Stitched Shapes.  The sentiment is from Hero Arts Prayers and was cut from the same purple cardstock three times and adhered together using Elmer’s Glue Adhesive Spray.  I then die cut a smaller rectangle from Gina K. Designs 120# White Cardstock with Lawn Fawn Small Stitched Stackable Rectangles.  The focal image and prayers cutout were placed on the white rectangle to determine where to stamp the secondary greetings, also from Hero Arts Prayers.  They were stamped with Altenew Deep Iris Ink.

The two rectangles were adhered together using Tombo Mono Multi Glue and then adhered to the front of a top folding A2 cardbase made from Gina K. Designs 120# White Cardstock.  The focal image was adhered with 3M ½” Foam Tape and the sentiment cutout was adhered using Tombo Mono Multi Glue.  To add a little more interest the to the front of the card purple sequins were used from Pretty Pink Posh Enchanted Garden Mix and the card was done

STIPPLED BLOOMS WISHING YOU A VERY HAPPY BIRTHDAY

I like the Stampin’ Up Stippled Blooms, but I like it much better when it is stamped on watercolor paper and the stippled areas are smooth with a brush and some water.  I cut some outlines of the images with my Silhouette Cameo on 90# watercolor paper.  The 140# requires a really deep blade and multiple passes for the cut for a smooth outline, so using a lighter weight paper works better.  I stamped the images with Distress Ink: Spun Sugar, Picked Raspberry; Wilted Violet, Dusty Concord; Bundled Sage, Peeled Paint.  Since these are rubber stamps I used my E. K. Success Stamp-a-ma-jig to line them up.

00269A rectangle was cut using Simon Says Stamp Bundle of Stitched Frames from Gina K. Designs 120# White Cardstock.  The back rose, purple flowers, and leaves were attached to the panel using Tombo Mono Multi Glue.  One rose was attached with one layer of 3M ½” Foam Tape, and the top rose was adhered with two layers of 3M ½” Foam Tape.

The sentiment is from Penny Black Special Thoughts and was stamped with Hero Hues Black Ink.  The stitched rectangle was applied directly to a top folding cardbase made from Gina K. Designs 120# White Cardstock using Tombo Mono Multi Glue.  To add a little more interest to the card sequins from Pretty Pink Posh Enchanted Garden and Sweetheart Mix were scattered on the front of the card.

SUMMER BLOOMS HAPPY BIRTHDAY

There are no matching dies for the WPlus9 Summer Blooms stamp set, so I cut some outlines with my Silhouette Cameo to create this card.  I merged the flowers, stems, and leaves into one image prior to cutting.  I used the Altenew inks listed below to stamp the images on the cutouts.

00270I used the Sizzix Big Shot to die cut a rectangle from Winnie & Walter Audrey Essentials Pierced Scalloped Rectangles from Gina K. Designs 80# White Cardstock and glued the largest and smallest flowers directly to the panel with Tombo Mono Multi Glue.  The two medium flowers in the center I adhered using 3M ½” Foam Tape.
The sentiment is from Gina K. Designs Birthday Greetings and was stamped on 120# Gina K. Designs Black Cardstock with VersaMark Ink.  Recollections Snow Embossing Powder was added and heat set with the Marvy Embossing Tool.  I used my paper cutter to trim the sentiment and then cut double fishtail ends.  The sentiment strip was adhered using 3M ½” Foam Tape to the scalloped rectangle.  Some Darice Adhesive Fun Foam was cut to be just smaller than the scalloped rectangle and, once applied, was adhered to the cardbase with Tombo Mono Multi Glue.

HELLO BIRTHDAY GIRL

This card uses flowers and leaves from Simon Says Stamp Look for the Miracles stamp set.  Since there aren’t matching dies for this set I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut some outline images and then stamped them with Altenew Inks listed below.  I used the Sizzix Big Shot to die cut a rectangle from Winnie & Walter Audrey Essentials Pierced Scalloped Rectangles from Gina K. Designs 80# White Cardstock.  I arranged the leaves and flowers the way I liked them and then used Tombo Mono Multi Glue for the leaves and small flower, gluing them directly to the rectangle.  The lighter pink flowers were adhered using 3M ½” Foam Tape, and the blue flower has a double thickness foam tape for added dimension.

00268The Hero Arts Hello sentiment was cut once from Gold Mirror Cardstock and three more times with leftover white cardstock.  To glue them together I used some Elmer’s Spray Adhesive.  Before adhering it to the panel I laid it out to determine where to stamp the secondary sentiment “birthday girl” from Stamping Bella Tiny Townie Blossom Loves Balloons.  Since I had gone to so much work, I but the panel in my MISTI and stamped it with Hero Hues Black ink.  I glued the “hello” die with some Ranger Multi Medium Mat and then glued the panel directly to a side folding cardbase made from Gina K. Designs 120# White Cardstock.

I liked the card, but it needed a little something more, so I pulled out my new Nuvo Crystal Drops Pale Gold and added small dots to the center of the flowers and the card was done.

SCRIBBLE FLOWERS HAPPY BIRTHDAY

I created a couple of cards with the same format using my Cameo Silhouette to cut outlines of My Favorite Things Scribble Flowers and stamped the flowers and leaves with Memento London Fog Ink.  I then used my Copic Markers to color them.  The colors used are listed below.  Next I ran some Gina K. Designs 80# White Cardstock through the Big Shot with the Cuttlebug Polka Dot Embossing Folder and cut it down to be 2 ¾” x 5 ½.  I added some black Gina K. Designs 120# Black Cardstock just wider than the dry embossed panel and glued them together using Tombo Mono Multi Glue.

00266For the sentiment I prepared some leftover Gina K. Designs 120# Black Cardstock with an anti-static pad and stamped the sentiment from My Favorite Things Big Birthday Sentiments in VersaMark Ink.  I then sprinkled on some Recollection Snow Embossing Powder and heat set it with my Marvy Embossing Tool.  I then cut it to be just larger than the sentiment with a fishtail on the left side.

I laid out the flowers and leaves, glued one directly to the panel and added dimension with 3M ½” foam tape for the other two flowers.  White pearls from my stash were added to the center of the flowers.  I added foam tape to the back of the sentiment banner and placed it at the bottom of the panel.  I added some Darice White Adhesive Fun Foam to the back of the panel, cutting it to be slightly smaller so it wouldn’t show and adhered it to a cardbase made from Gina K. Designs 120# White Cardstock, cut to 4 ¼” x 11” and scored at 5 ½”.  I added Clear Wink of Stella to the flowers and the card was done.

For the second card I colored the flowers with yellow and blue Copic Markers and embossed the white panel with the Cuttlebug Oxford Embossing Folder.  I added some blue cardstock from my stash and adhered it to the panel using Tombo Mono Multi Glue.  I cut a small strip of the same blue cardstock for the sentiment, which is from Fiskars Birthday Bash.  All three flowers have 3M ½” Foam Tape on the back to create dimension.  I added Darice Adhesive Fun Foam to the back of the panel, but when I went to place it on the card, it needed something to tie in the yellow of the flowers.  I decided to add another panel of yellow, slightly wider than the blue, which I glued directly to a top folding cardbase made from Gina K. Designs 120# White Cardstock, cut to 4 ¼” x 11” and scored at 5”.  This pulled both of the colors of the flowers into the design and I like it better.  I added Clear Wink of Stella to the flowers for some shine, but it was still missing something, so I pulled some Recollections Enamel Dots from my stash and added blue dots to the center of the yellow flowers and yellow to the center of the blue and the card was done.

SCRIBBLE FLOWERS SWEET BIRTHDAY WISHES

I used my Cameo Silhouette to cut some outlines of My Favorite Things Scribble Flowers and stamped the flowers and leaves with Memento London Fog Ink.  I then used my Copic Markers to color them.  The colors used are listed below.  Next I ran some Gina K. Designs 80# White Cardstock through the Big Shot with the rectangle from Simon Says Stamp Bundle of Stitched Shapes and then dry embossed it with the Darice Basketweave Embossing Folder.

00265I prepared some Gina K. Designs 120# Black Cardstock with an anti-static pad and stamped the sentiment from My Favorite Things Big Birthday Sentiments in VersaMark Ink then sprinkled on some Recollection Snow Embossing Powder and heat set it with my Marvy Embossing Tool.  I then cut it to be just larger than the sentiment and created a fishtail on the right side.

I laid out the flowers and leaves and added dimension with 3M ½” foam tape, using double tape for the smaller flower.  Some Doodlebug Designs Sprinkles Lily White were added to the center of the flowers.  Foam tape was added to the back of the sentiment banner and it tucked it underneath the flowers.

I planned to add some fun foam to the back and adhere it to a side folded cardbase made from Gina K. Designs 120# White Cardstock, but decided to add a black background from Gina K. Designs 120# Black Cardstock.  This helped tie in the banner and made the dry embossed panel standout on the page.  I applied the panel to the cardbase using Tombo Mono Multi Glue and the card was done.

MASCULINE PATTERNED PAPER HELLO

I wanted to create a masculine hello card and found this paper in the Craft Smith Indigo Gold Paper Pack.  All that was needed was to run it through the Big Shot with the rectangle from Simon Says Stamp Bundle of Stitched Shapes, add some Darice Adhesive Fun Foam to the back and attach it to a top folding A2 cardbase made from Gina K. Designs 120# White Cardstock, and the card was done.  How easy it that!

POWER POPPY CAMELLIAS HAPPY BIRTHDAY

This is another beautiful digital stamp from Power Poppy entitled Camellias.  I printed it with my small HP LaserJet printer on Bristol Smooth Cardstock since I planned to use my ZIG Clean Color Real Brush Watercolor Markers.  I used a very light grey ink so that it would be more of a no line watercolor look.  I like this cardstock, but the colors are very intense.  I like the blending I get with regular 140# Cold Press Cardstock better, but it is a pretty card.

00264Once the watercolored image was dry I ran it through the Sizzix Big Shot with Simon Says Stamp Bundle of Stitched Shapes Rectangle.  I then cut a strip of Gina K. Designs 120# Black Cardstock and stamped the sentiment from My Favorite Things Big Birthday Sentiments with VersaMark Ink and heat embossed it using Recollections Snow Embossing Powder.  I then trimmed the piece to just larger than the sentiment, leaving enough for a fishtail ending on the left.  I used some 3M ½” Foam Tape behind the sentiment and adhered it to the focal image panel.  To add dimension I added Darice Adhesive White Fun Foam to the back of the image and then glued it to a top folding A2 card, made from Gina K. Designs 120# White Cardstock with Tombo Mono Multi Glue and the card was done.

POWER POPPY FRENCH LILAC MAKE A WISH

This is another beautiful digital stamp from Power Poppy entitled French Lilac.  They have some beautiful stamps and I really like the look of how this card turned out.  I printed it on some Bristol Smooth Cardstock with my HP LaserJet Printer with light grey ink, this allows for a no line coloring look.  I used my ZIG Clean Color Real Brush Watercolor Markers, colors used are listed below.

00263Once the watercolored image was dry I ran it through the Sizzix Big Shot with Simon Says Stamp Bundles of Stitched Shapes Rectangle.  I then stamped the sentiment from Hero Arts Make a Wish Birthday stamp set with Hero Hues Black.   To add dimension I added Darice Adhesive White Fun Foam to the back of the image and then glued it to a top folding A2 card, made from Gina K. Designs 120# White Cardstock with Tombo Mono Multi Glue and the card was done.

POWER POPPY PEONIES BIRTHDAY WISH

This stamp is another digital image from Power Poppy entitled Peonies.  I love the big, bold blooms of this image.  I printed it on some Bristol Smooth Cardstock with my HP LaserJet Printer since I planned to color it with my ZIG Clean Color Real Brush Watercolor Markers.  I have some peonies in my garden that are a mixture of blue and violet, depending on the pH of the soil, therefore, I decided to blend those two colors together to create this card.  I used my ZIG Clean Color Real Brush Watercolor Markers: 036 Light Blue; 080 Violet; 041 Light Green.

00261Once the watercolored image was dry I ran it through the Sizzix Big Shot with Simon Says Stamp Bundles of Stitched Shapes Rectangle.  I then stamped the sentiment from Amy R. Great Birthday Greetings in the lower left.  To add dimension I added Darice Adhesive White Fun Foam to the back of the image and then glued it to a side folding A2 card, made from Gina K. Designs 120# White Cardstock with Tombo Mono Multi Glue and the card was done.
