Dark Room Door Word Block Happy Masculine Card

A simple masculine birthday card can be made using a background word stamp and some colorful ink blending.

A panel of Gina K. Designs 80# White Cardstock was cut with the largest Lawn Fawn Small Stitched Rectangle Stackables and then prepped with an anti-static tool before stamping the Dark Room Door Word Black Happy background stamp with VersaMark Ink.  Gina K. Designs Detail White Embossing Powder was then added and heat embossed.

Next Distress Ink was blended onto the card panel using the Ranger Mini Ink Blending Tool in a rainbow order with the following inks: Mustard Seed, Twisted Citron, Mowed Lawn, Tumbled Glass, Blueprint Sketch, Wilted Violet, Barn Door.  The panel was adhered to a top folding A2 cardbase made from Gina K. Designs 120# White Cardstock with Darice Adhesive Fun Foam to add dimension.

A sentiment from My Favorite Things Big Birthday Sentiments was stamped with VersaMark Ink on 120# Gina K. Designs Black Cardstock and heat embossed with Gina K. Designs Fine Detail White Embossing Powder and adhered to the front of the card with 3M 1/2″ Foam Tape.

Masculine Birthday Card with MFT Chevron Coverup

Some of the most challenging cards for me are masculine birthday cards and I have a lot of guys that I need throughout the year. Graphic elements can make a great card and I really like the look of this card that was made using the negative space leftover from My Favorite Things Chevron Coverup.

First I took a piece of Gina K. Designs 120# White Cardstock and used the Ranger Mini Ink Blending Tool to create an ombre of color with the following Distress Inks: Mustard Seed, Wild Honey, Spiced Marmalade, Ripe Persimmon, Fired Brick.  The panel was run through the Big Shot with My Favorite Things Chevron Coverup.

To add dimension three additional coverups were cut using Gina K. Designs 120# White Cardstock and all were adhered together using Elmer’s Adhesive Spray and then adhered to the front of a top folding A2 cardbase made from Gina K. Designs 120# White Cardstock with Tombo Mono Multi Glue.

The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink Stylish Sentiments: Birthday stamped with VersaMark Ink on Gina K. Designs 120# Black Cardstock and heat embossed with Gina K. Designs Fine Detail White Embossing Powder.  It was then cut into a fishtail banner and adhered to the front of the card with 3M 1/2″ Foam Tape

Masculine Birthday with MFT Chevron Coverup II

Great cards can be made using negative elements from a graphic die. This card that was made using the negative space leftover from My Favorite Things Chevron Coverup.

A piece of Gina K.

To add dimension to the chevron stripes I cut thin strips of 3M 1/2″ foam tape and applied it to the back of each strip.  (In retrospect I think it would have been much easier to cut the die again using Darice Adhesive Fun Foam.)  Using the cutout panel the strips were adhered to the front of a top folding A2 cardbase made from Gina K. Designs 120# White Cardstock.

Matching balloons were die cut from scraps of paper with Lawn Fawn Party Balloons and adhered using 3M 1/2″ Foam tape, with the front balloon using a double thickness of foam tape.  The balloon ties were made from red DFN Craft Thread.  To keep the loops I put a dollop of Tombo Mono Multi Glue on my thumb and applied it to the thread.  This allows it to stiffen and it can be shaped while still wet and will dry in the desired shape.

The sentiment is from My Favorite Things Big Birthday Sentiments stamped with VersaMark Ink on Gina K. Designs 120# Black Cardstock and heat embossed with Gina K. Designs Fine Detail White Embossing Powder and then adhered to the front of the card with 3M 1/2″ Foam Tape.

Power Poppy French Lilac Hello

Some of the sweetest smelling flowers of spring are lilacs.  I really love this image from Power Poppy called French Lilacs.  It was printed and cut using the Silhouette Cameo and then colored with Copic Markers (colors listed below).

When creating a clean and simple white card I like to add dimension by adding a panel that has been dry embossed.  This card uses the Darice Basketweave Embossing Folder.  First the panel was cut using the largest rectangle from Lawn Fawn Small Stitched Stackable Rectangles and embossing it with the folder.

A panel of mirror gold cardstock was cut 1/8″ larger than the panel and both were adhered together using Tombo Mono Multi Glue and then adhered directly to a top folding A2 Card made from Gina K. Designs 120# White Cardstock.  The focal image was adhered to the front of the panel using 3M 1/2″ Foam Tape.

The sentiment was cut from mirror gold cardstock using Hero Arts Hello Stamp and Cut.  When adding dimension to a die cut sentiment you can either cut several words and glue them together, or in this case I die cut Darice Adhesive Fun Foam and then glued to the panel using Tombo Mono Multi Glue.

Power Poppy Camellias Congrats

I really like a clean and simple card that lets the focal image shine on the page.  This card was made using Power Poppy Camellias Digital Stamp.

The Power Poppy Camellias Digital Stamp was printed and cut using the Silhouette Cameo and then colored with Copic Markers (colors listed below).

A panel of Gina K. Designs 80# White Cardstock was die cut using the largest Lawn Fawn Small Stitched Rectangle Stackables and then run through the Big Shot again with the Cricut Swiss Dots Embossing Folder. The gold mirror cardstock adds an elegant feel to the card and was cut 1/8″ larger than the embossed panel.  The focal image was adhered to the panel using 3M 1/2″ Foam Tape and the entire panel was adhered to a top folding A2 Cardbase made from Gina K. Designs 120# White Cardstock with Darice Adhesive Fun Foam.

The sentiment was cut from gold mirror cardstock using Winnie & Walter The Big, The Bold, and You die.  It was cut again three times with scrap white card stock and adhered together with Elmer’s Adhesive Spray.  Tombo Mono Multi Glue was used to adhere it to the front of the card panel.  This beautiful sentiment can be used for birthdays, weddings, graduations, or any other occasion where you want to express your congratulations.

Springtime Colored Power Poppy Tulips in a Hobnail Pitcher

There are some beautiful images from Power Poppy Stamps that I really like.  They always make a beautiful card.  This time I used the Tulips in a Hobnail Pitcher Digital Stamp, which was print and cut using my Silhouette Cameo and colored using Copic Markers.  I really like the springtime colors of this card.

I like the clean and simple layout of this card.  To add dimension a panel of Gina K.
