Festive Frames Christmas Card

The frame from the Gina K. Designs Festive Frames make a lovely Christmas Card.  I love the sentiment from Penny Black Yuletide Wishes.  For this card the frame was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and colored with Copic Markers.  The sentiment was stamped with Distress Oxide Candied Apple and heat embossed with Hero Arts Fine Detail Clear Embossing Powder.  This is the card that we sent out for our 2017 Christmas Card.

This card takes a little over an hour to create, so it isn’t a quick card, but it turns out to be a pretty card.  Wink of Stella was used on the petals and Stickles Gold was used to the center of the flower to add visual interest to the flowers.

Merry and Bright Ornament Christmas Card

I love the simply beauty of this card with navy cardstock and gold embossed decorative ornaments.  It is very easy to make and yet elegant in design.  It is the card that my new crafting friend chose to make for her first Christmas card.

The card uses the Gina K. Designs Merry and Bright stamp set.  The ornaments with strings and the sentiment were stamped with VersaMark Ink and heat embossed with Ranger Fine Detail Gold Embossing Powder.  The focal image was then die cut using a My Favorite Things Stitched Rectangle.  To enhance the gold embossing, Paper Accents Gold Mirror Cardstock was cut 1/8″ larger and adhered to the back of the focal image with Sookwang Be Creative Tape.  Darice Sticky Back Foam was added to the back for dimension and then the panel was adhered to a top folding A2 cardbase make from Gina K. Designs 120# White Cardstock with Tombo Mono Multi Glue and the card was done.

Antique Poinsettia and Big Scripty Holiday Christmas Card

I love Hero Arts Antique Poinsettia Stamp and Die because the die cut multiple layers of the same image to give a beautiful layered image.

The image from this stamp set was stamped three times.  Once on green cardstock and two times on red cardstock with VersaMark Ink and then heat embossed with Ranger Fine Detail Gold Embossing Powder.  Using the matching dies the full image, which includes the leaves was cut from the green cardstock.  The flower is cut twice, once with the die cutting the entire flower, and a second time with a die cutting only the center layer of the flower.

A rectangle of Neena Classic Crest 80# Solar White Cardstock was die cut using a a My Favorite Things Stitched Rectangle STAX.  Next a Lawn Fawn Outside In Stitched Scalloped Rectangle was embossed using the Big Shot and a Spellbinders Silicon Mat, which added a beautiful dimension to the card front.

The poinsettia image was placed on the rectangle to determine where to stamp the sentiment from Simon Says Stamp Big Scripty Holiday Greetings in VersaMark Ink and heat embossed with the same gold embossing powder.  The green leaves die cut was adhered to the upper right corner of the rectangle with Tombo Mono Multi Glue.  3M 1/2″ Foam Tape was used to adhered each of the flower layers together.

Silver Snowflakes Christmas Card

For this card snowflakes were used from both Simon Says Stamp Frozen Fractals and Lots of Snowflakes which were stamped on pale blue cardstock from my stash using VersaMark Ink and then heat embossed with Ranger Fine Detail Silver Embossing Powder.

Before stamping the snowflakes the blue cardstock was die cut using a My Favorite Things Wonky Rectangle.  The edges were then ink blended with Distress Oxide Wilted Violet and Blueprint Sketch Ink, leaving the center of the rectangle light.  Darice Sticky Back Foam was cut 1/8″ smaller than the rectangle and adhered to the back.  Tombo Mono Multi Glue was used to adhere the panel to a top folding A2 Cardbase.

For the sentiment a circle of vellum was cut with a My Favorite Things Stitched Circle STAX.  The sentiment die is from Simon Says Stamp Scripts of the Season and was die cut with Paper Accents Silver Mirror Cardstock and then again from some light blue cardstock.  The two layers were adhered together using Ranger Multi Medium Matte and then adhered to the vellum circle with the same glue.  Dot of Multi Medium Matte were added behind the die cut words on the back of the vellum and then adhered to the front of the card.

Studio Katia Merry Poinsettia with Simon Says Stamp Merry Christmas Card

A large, beautiful sentiment and a die cut flower can be the showcase of your Christmas Card.

A rectangle of Neena Classic Crest 80# Solar White Cardstock was cut using a guillotine cutter and the large Simon Says Stamp Merry Christmas was stamped with VersaMark Ink in the center and heat embossing with Ranger Fine Detail Gold Embossing Powder.  To draw the eye to the sentiment a frame was cut front Gina K. Designs Read Velvet 120# Cardstock with Pretty Pink Posh’s Scalloped Rectangle.  3M 1/2″ Foam Tape was cut in half and adhered to the back of the frame and then the sentiment was adhered to the back using the foam tape.

The single poinsettia from Studio Katia’s Merry Poinsettia was stamped on the same red cardstock with VersaMark Ink and heat embossed with gold embossing powder and then die cut with the matching die.  To add dimension it was stamped a second time and the center was fussy cut and adhered to the top of the full flower with 3M 1/2″ Foam Tape.  The leaves from the stamp set were stamped on green cardstock from my stash and die cut with the matching dies.  They were glued to the corner of the scalloped sentiment frame with Tombo Mono Multi Glue and 3M 1/2″ Foam Tape under the portion of the flower that overlapped the frame.  For a little added dimension to the flower, Copic Marker R59 was added to the center of the flower.

When I went to place the rectangle on a white cardbase I felt that it was pretty, but it just didn’t make the flower and sentiment pop, so green cardstock was cut 1/8″ larger than the scalloped rectangle.  I like that much better, but I decided to add another layer of white and cut another rectangle 1/8″ larger than the green rectangle.  Both were adhered together with Kokuyo Dotliner Adhesive and the scalloped sentiment was adhered to the top with Tombo Mono Multi Glue.  All were adhered to a side folding A2 cardbase made from the same red cardstock with the multi glue and the card was done.

Come to Bethlehem Christmas Card

I have always loved the Stampin’ Up’s Come to Bethlehem stamp set.  I have used this stamp set several years ago for our Christmas card using navy ink, but it was difficult to get a solid image.  This time the MISTI made it easy to get a beautiful smooth image, allowing you to stamp it as many time as needed for complete coverage.  Also, VersaMark ink tends to give you better coverage as well.

For this card it was stamped with VersaMark and heat set with Ranger Silver Fine Detail Embossing Powder.  The beautiful sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp Big Scripty Holiday Sayings and was stamped and heat set in the same manner for a beautiful card.

Studio Katia Christmas Card

I have a new friend from church who wanted to learn how to make handmade Christmas cards and so I designed a few that would be fairly easy to create.  The Studio Katia Poinsettia is a beautiful stamp set and makes a lovely and easy Christmas card.  What could be better than that.

The images were stamped with VersaMark Ink on colored paper, covered in gold embossing powder, heat set, and die cut with the matching

A scalloped rectangle was cut using Winnie & Walter’s Audrey Essentials and was adhered to a green cardbase using Kokuyo Dotliner Adhesive.  The poinsettias were placed on this scalloped rectangle to determine placement of the die cut sentiment from the same stamp and die set and the secondary stamped sentiment which was stamped with with VersaMark Ink and heat embossed with the same embossing powder.
