Pretty Pink Rose Happy Birthday

I always love the way cards turnout using Power Poppy’s flower images, this one was made with the Rose and Chamomile digital stamp. I serve with an amazing women in the Young Women’s organization at church whose favorite color is pink.  I love the way the shading turned out on this image.

I have the digital image, so I can make it just the size I want. I printed the image with my laser printer onto Neena Classic Crest 80# Solar White Cardstock and then colored it with Copic Markers (listed below). Once I was done coloring, I then scanned and imported it into the Silhouette Cameo to cut around the image. Almost as good as a matching die, just takes a little more time, but faster than fussy cutting.

I cut a rectangle from the same white cardstock using a My Favorite Things Wonky Rectangle and then ran it through the Big Shot with the Cuttlebug Charles Embossing Folder and adhered the focal image using 3M 1/2″ Foam Tape.

An A2 top folding cardbase was made from Gina K. Designs 120# White Cardstock. To make the focal image pop on the white cardbase, I looked through my scraps of paper and found this matching pink paper, which was cut 1/8″ larger than the embossed rectangle and adhered using Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive.

The sentiment is from Gina K. Designs Grand Greetings  and was stamped on Vellum with VersaMark Ink and heat embossed with Ranger Fine Detail Gold Embossing Powder then wrapped around the focal image panel and adhered to the back with Scotch Tape. Darice Sticky Back Foam was added to the back of the panel and then adhered to the cardbase with Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive.

Paw Prints Birthday Wishes

We have a new young woman turning twelve and entering the Young Women’s organization at church.  Her mother tells me she has a dog and a cat.  I didn’t have a dog image similar to what she has, but this cute cat I colored based on the photo her mom sent me.  I think it turned out cute.  Welcome Katie.

I stamped the image from SWALK pawfect Pal Paw Prints onto Neena Classic Crest 80# Solar White Cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink, which is Copic friendly and colored the image with the markers listed below.

Once I was done coloring, I added white polka dots to the chair with a White Sakura Gelly Roll Pen.  I then scanned  and imported it into the Silhouette Cameo to cut around the image.  Almost as good as a matching die, just takes a little more time, but faster than fussy cutting.

I cut a rectangle from the same white cardstock using a My Favorite Things Wonky Rectangle and then ran it through the Big Shot with the Cuttlebug Polka Dots Embossing Folder and adhered the focal image using 3M 1/2″ Foam Tape.

An A2 top folding cardbase was made from Gina K. Designs 120# White Cardstock.  To make the focal image pop on the white cardbase, I looked through my scraps of paper and found this deep teal blue paper, which was cut 1/8″ larger than the embossed rectangle and adhered using Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive.

You Are Beautiful Inside and Out (TLC675)

This card was created by adding distress ink onto acetate and smooshing it onto damp watercolor paper.  This technique creates really beautiful background, but it also can create some lovely die cut images and florals. The flowers are from the Spellbinder January Die of the Month and were cut from leftover watercolor background paper.  I wanted something bright and cheerful to accent the flower images and so another watercolor background was created using yellow distress inks. The yellow background was die cut using a My Favorite Things Stitched Rectangle STAX.  The die cut flowers were adhered to the watercolor panel with Ranger Multi Medium Matte.  A small turquoise rhinestone was added to the center flower. The sentiment is from Penny Black’s Heartfelt and was stamped just below the flowers using Hero Hues India Ink Black.  Darice Sticky Back Foam was cut 1/8″ smaller than the focal image panel and adhered to the back.To accent the color of the flowers some turquoise cardstock was found in my stash and die cut using a My Favorite Things Wonky Rectangle.  A side folding A2 cardbase was made from Gina K. Designs 120# White Cardstock.  The turquoise rectangle was adhered to the cardbase using Kokuyo Dotliner Adhesive.  The focal image panel was adhered to the center using Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive and the card was done.PRODUCTS USED:

Butterfly Happy Everything Card (TLC675)

This card was created by adding distress ink onto acetate and smooshing it onto damp watercolor paper.  This technique creates really beautiful background.

Because the background is so pretty I wanted to keep the rest of the card for clean and simple by only adding a die cut focal image and sentiment from white cardstock.  The butterfly is from Paper Artist’s 3 Butterflies Die and was cut three time from 80# white cardstock and adhered together using Elmer’s Craft Bond Spray Adhesive.  The same technique was used to die cut and adhere layers of one of the word dies from Penny Black’s Awesome.

The watercolor background was die cut using My Favorite Things Stitched Rectangle STAX.  Darice Sticky Foam was cut 1/8″ smaller and adhered to the back.  A top folding cardbase was made from Gina K. Designs 120# White Cardstock and the watercolor panel was adhered to the front with Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive.

The butterfly and sentiment were adhered to the front of the watercolor panel using Ranger Multi Medium Matte.  To add a little additional focal image Crystal Stickles was added to the word die cut and the body of the butterfly and the card was done.

Blooming Garden Fabulous Birthday Card (TLC675)

The SplitCoastStampers Try a New Technique Challenge this week was to make watercolor background with acetate.  I really like the pretty backgrounds you get with this technique.  The first card I made used Distress Inks: Spun Sugar, Picked Raspberry, Worn Lipstick, and Wilted Violet.

I wanted to let the pretty ink blended background shine in this card so I die cut it using a My Favorite Things Wonky Rectangle, which added just a little of focal interest.  The outline for the poppies in Penny Black’s Blooming Garden were cut from 80# white cardstock and adhered to the right of the watercolor panel.

The sentiment is from Penny Black’s Heartfelt and was stamped with Distress Oxide Wilted Violet in the lower left of the card.  For additional focal interest butterflies were cut from the same white cardstock using Martha Stewart’s butterfly punch and butterfly trio punch.  White pearls were added for the bodies of the butterflies.

A top folding A2 cardbase was made from Gina K. Designs 120# White Cardstock.  Darice Sticky Back Foam was added to the watercolor panel and then adhered to the cardbase using Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive.

Because I wasn’t adding any color to the flowers I decided to use Crystal Stickles to add the veins in the flowers, and add a little sparkle to the edges of the butterfly wings and the card was done.

Vine Heart Valentine’s Day Card

In the January 2018 Spellbinders Die of the Month Kit there was a heart die that creates a vine cutout that can be inlaid back into the heart creating a unique and pretty card.  I created two cards using this die, using the positive and negative die cuts for each card.

For the first card the heart die was cut from both Gina K. Designs 80# White Cardstock and Doodlebug Designs Purple Petite Prints.  The purple vine was inlaid back into the white base heart.  I used Scotch Tape to keep the two pieces of the heart together until Darice Sticky Back Foam was added to the back to create dimension and adhered the pieces together.  The Doodlebug paper  was die cut using a Memory Box Stitched Rectangle.  This die cuts an a rectangle, and also a very narrow stitched border when cutting out the rectangle.  For the first card the interior rectangle was used for the card, adding purple cardstock from my stash 1/8″ larger as an accent.  Both rectangles were adhered together using Kokuyo Dotliner Adhesive.

Darice Sticky Back Fun Foam was added to the back of the heart to add dimension and then it was adhered to the patterned paper rectangle with Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive.  The sentiment is from Penny Black’s Heartfelt and was stamped with Distress Oxide Wilted Violet Ink.

A side folding A2 cardbase was made from Gina K. Designs 120# White Cardstock and the focal image rectangle was adhered with the same dotliner adhesive.  Sequins from Doodlebug Designs Lilac and Pretty Pink Posh Sugar Plum Mix Sequins were scatted around the heart and adhered with Ranger Multi Medium Matt and the card was done.

The second card was created in  pretty much the same way with the exception that 80# white cardstock was die cut with the same Memory Box Rectangle and the thin purple stitched border from the first card was adhered to edge of the cardbase.  The vine of the heart was cut an additional three time and stacked and adhered together with Elmer’s Craft Bond Spray Adhesive.  Since the heart was purple, the sentiment was stamped with VersaMark Ink and heat embossed with Gina K. Designs Detail White Embossing Powder.
