Sending You Love Valentines (F4A414)

The Free For All Challenge on SplitCoastStampers this week is All About Love.  I had used Hot Pink Silly Winks Glitter Foam and the Impression Obsession Heart of Heart Die for a previous card and decided to use the leftover negative space from that card to create a second card.  I also decided to cut additional hearts from the leftover Silly Winks Glitter Foam to create an additional two hearts for this card.  Love using up leftover product.

I decided to back the Impression Obsession Heart of Heart negative space die with some white glitter cardstock I had in my stash.  I die cut it using a Spellbinders Classic Scalloped Heart die and adhered the two together using Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive.  Since I still had some leftover Silly Winks Glitter Foam I decided to add another two hearts in different sizes to the card front.  I found some chevron paper that matched the color scheme in the Recollections Little Princess 8 1/2″ x 11″ Paper Pad and cut it to be 5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″.  I adhered the three hearts in a diagonal on the card front, one with the same the same adhesive and the other two 3M 1/2″ Foam Tape.

The sentiment is from Hero Arts Love Stamp and Die set and was cut five times from 80# Gina K. Designs White Cardstock.  The top layer was colored with Copic Markers RV66 and RV63 to create an ombre look.  The secondary sentiment from the same set was stamped with Hero Hues India Ink Black.

Heart Lattice Valentine’s Shaker Card (CAS466)

The Clean and Simple Challenge on Splitcoaststampers this week is Keep it Clear.  Whenever I think about using something clear in cardmaking I think of a shaker card.  In the Spellbinders January Die of the Month there was a really large lattice heart that I thought would make a great shaker card.

The die set comes with the lattice heart and a solid heart that goes behind it.  I die cut the lattice heart from some hot pink Silly Winks glitter foam and added some acetate behind it to create the shaker.  Next I created a heart cardbase by die cutting the solid heart from Neena Classic Crest 80# Solar White Cardstock, leaving a small amount of the top of the heart off the edge. I  and ink blended the top of the cardbase with Distress Inks (listed below).

I used 3M 1/2″ Foam Tape to add the dimension needed for the shaker.  I cut it into thin strips and added it to the edge of the heart on the back.  I create two layers of foam so the shaker elements could move freely.  I filled the well with Beader Paradise Rose Beads,Mikuki Seed Beads Silver Lined Pink and Lilac, Martha Stewart Sugar Plum Confetti, andMartha Stewart Cotton Candy Confetti.  I carefully placed the cardbase onto the foam tape lattice heart to create the shaker card.

I die cut a Simon Says Stamp tilted banner from white cardstock and stamped the sentiment from the Clearly Besotted Type Clear Stamp Set with Hero Hues India Ink Black.  I added Ranger Multi Medium Matte to the ends of the banner and a thin strip of 3M 1/2″ Foam Tape to the center of the banner and adhered it to the front of the lattice heart.

At the last minute I decided to add the lattice heart card to a rectangle of 80# white cardstock.  The edges were scalloped using one of the Simon Says Stamp Scalloped Stitched Edge Dies.  The Lattice Heart was adhered to the center of the rectangle with Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive and small hearts cut from the glitter foam using the Impression Obsession Heart of Hearts Die were scattered around the large heart.

Adore You Hello Card

I try to send out cards within a month of someone new moving into our church boundaries.  It’s fun to sending a welcoming word and hopefully make them feel more comfortable attending.  This past month there were two families who moved in.  I used the same Altenew Adore Stamp and Die, using a different color scheme for each one.  The first is blue and red, two of my favorite colors.  The second is pink and teal, which are beautiful together.

I stamped all the images at one time in my MISTI onto Gina K. Designs 80# White Cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink.  I then colored them with Copic Markers (colors listed below).  Once the coloring was done I stamped them again with Onyx Black Ink and heat embossed them with Hero Arts Detailed Clear Embossing Powder.

The flowers and leaves were were cut with the matching dies and then arranged the way I liked them.  To adhere them to the card I used Glad Press ‘n Seal to keep them all together for adhering to the card front.

I die cut a quarter sheet of the Gina K. Designs 80# White Cardstock using a My Favorite Things Wonky Rectangle.  I placed the flower arrangement on the rectangle to determine where to stamp the sentiment from Concord & 9th Hello Lovely with Hero Hues Black Ink.  Next, I turned the flower arrangement on the Press ‘n Seal over and applied Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive to all except the center flower and placed it on the card front.  The center flower was adhered using 3M 1/2″ Foam Tape for added interest and dimension.

A side folding A2 cardbase was made from Gina K. Designs 120# White Cardstock.  Darice Sticky Back Foam was cut 1/8″ smaller than the wonky rectangle and then Nuvo Adhesive was used to adhered it to the cardbase.

Spring Shower Happy Birthday

I wanted to use Altenew’s Spring Shower Cover Die again, but wanted to see if I could make it easier to paper piece the flowers back into the panel once they had been colored.  This time I decided to use Glad Press ‘n Seal to remove the flowers and it worked like a charm.  I decided to color all the flowers in different colors of blue and really liked how it turned out.

I die cut the background from Neena Classic Crest 80# Solar White Cardstock and then added the Press ‘n Seal to the back and carefully removed the background, leaving only the flowers and leaves.  It was easy to then color the flowers and leaves with Copic Markers (colors listed below).  Once the coloring was complete the background was placed over the colored images and the Press ‘n Seal kept everything together.  It was much quicker and easier using the die in this manner.  I then die cut the background using a My Favorite Things Stitched Rectangle STAX.  This not only gives a nice edge to the background, but it also presses the flowers and leaves tightly into the image.

The sentiment from Hot Off the Press Birthday Greetings was stamped on vellum with VersaMark ink and heat embossed with Ranger Fine Detail Silver Embossing Powder.  It was then wrapped around the focal image and secured with Scotch Tape at the back of the panel.  Darice Sticky Back Foam was cut 1/8″ smaller than the rectangle and adhered to the back.

A top folding A2 cardbase was made from some blue paper I had in my stash.  The blue base really made the flowers pop.  As a final embellishment, Simon Says Stamp Moonshine Sequins were added to the centers of the largest flowers with Ranger Multi Medium Matte and then a drop of Glossy Accents was added to the center to help keep everything in place.

Party Balloons Masculine Birthday Card II

I love the combination of blue and green and decided to use this as the color combination for this masculine birthday card.

It is a clean and simple design that doesn’t take much time to create.  Scraps of green and blue glitter cardstock was pulled from my stash and die cut using My Favorite Things Party Balloons.  The strings for the balloons are from Lawn Fawn’s Party Balloons dies and were cut from Gina K. Designs 120# Black Cardstock. The strings were adhered to the back of the balloons with Scotch Tape.

The word “happy” was cut from the green glitter cardstock using WPlus9’s Happy Trio Die.

An A2 top folding cardbase was made from Gina K. Designs 120# White Cardstock.  A rectangle of Neena Classic Crest 80# Solar White Cardstock was die cut using a My Favorite Things Wonky Rectangle.  Darice Sticky Back Foam was cut 1/8″ smaller and adhered to the back and the rectangle was adhered to the cardbase with Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive.

The balloons were adhered to the focal image rectangle with Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive and the word die cut was adhered over the tails of the balloons with the same glue.  The secondary sentiment is from Winnie & Walter’s The Big, The Bold and Party stamp set, was stamped with Gina K. Designs Blue Denim Ink just below the word “happy” and this quick and easy card was done.

Layered Cupcake Masculine Birthday Card

I liked the way the balloon card inspired by Doodlebug’s Sugar Coated Confetti cardstock turned out so much that I decided to create another card using Altenew’s Layered Cupcake stamp and die with the same color scheme.  It too makes a great masculine birthday card.

The image was stamped with Hero Hues India Ink Black onto Neena Classic Crest 80# Solar White Cardstock and then the layers were stamped with the Altenew Inks listed below.  Once the coloring was complete it was die cut with the matching die.  My Wink of Stella was running a little dry and quite a bit came out at once when I pinched the barrel.  It looks really shiny in this picture, but the actual card isn’t as glittery.

For the focal image background the Cuttlebug Birthday Embossing Folder was run through the Big Shot with Neena Classic Crest 80# Solar White Cardstock and then die cut with a My Favorite Things Stitched Rectangle STAX.  Darice Sticky Back Foam was cut 1/8″ smaller and adhered to the back of the rectangle.

A top folding A2 cardbase was made from Gina K. Designs Red Hot 120# Cardstock and the embossed rectangle was adhered to the front using Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive.  The cupcake was adhered to the focal rectangle with 3M 1/2″ Foam Tape.

As with the previous card using the Doodlebug Sugar Coated Confetti cardstock to ensure the confetti didn’t peel off the die cut sentiment Ranger Glossy Accents were added.  Once dry the sentiment word was adhered to the front of the card with Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive and the card was done.

Happy Birthday Party Balloons Masculine Card

Inspiration for this card was the beautiful sugar coated confetti cardstock from Doodlebug.  I think it makes a great masculine birthday card.

Glitter cardstock matching the Doodlebug paper was found in my stash and then die cut using My Favorite things Party Balloons.  The strings for the balloons were die cut using Lawn Fawn’s Party Balloons and Gina K. Designs 120# Black Cardstock.

The sentiment is from CZ Designs Birthday Palooze die.  The problem I found after cutting the word was that the confetti easily peels off the front of the cardstock, so I decided to cover it with Ranger Glossy Accents to keep them in place and ensure that they would remain intact for the recipient of the card.  I really liked the look of the dimension added in this process.

Neena Classic Crest 80# Solar White Cardstock was cut using a My Favorite Things Wonky Rectangle.  Darice Sticky Back Foam was cut 1/8″ smaller and adhered to the back.  An A2 top folding cardbase was made from Gina K. Designs 120# Red Hot Cardstock and the white rectangle was adhered to the front using Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive.

The balloon strings were adhered to the back of each balloon with Scotch Tape.  The orange balloon was adhered directly to the rectangle with liquid glue.  The red and yellow balloon strings were adhered with liquid glue, but 3M 1/2″ foam tape was adhered to the back of the balloon.

The happy was cut three additional time from red cardstock and all word die cuts were adhered together with Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive.  Before adhered to the focal image the secondary sentiment from Winnie & Walter The Big, the Bold and Party was stamped with Altenew Crimson Ink.  The word die cut was then adhered with Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive and the card was done.

Woot – It’s Your Birthday Masculine Card

I love the way this masculine birthday card turned out.  The colorful background was created using the Concord & 9th Turnabout Sprinkles Stamp.  The colors were inspired by a flower arrangement I recently saw.  The CZ Designs Birthday Palooze open sentiment allows for you to color it to match the design.

The turnabout stamp is easy to use and the cupcake from Avery Elle’s Cupcakes makes a great masculine focal image.  It was stamped with Altenew Inks (listed below) and then highlighted using Copic Markers.  Once the cupcake coloring was complete it was cut using the matching dies.

The sprinkles background was die cut using a My Favorite Things Stitched Rectangle STAX die and Darice Sticky Back Foam was added to the back for dimension.

The sentiment was stamped with Altenew Crimson Ink and Colored with Copic Markers (listed below) to create an ombre effect.  It was then die cut with the matching die, and then again four additional time with white cardstock.  Each word die cut was adhered together using Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive.  The secondary sentiment was stamped on Gina K. Designs Red Hot 120# Cardstock with VersaMark Ink and heat embossed with Gina K. Designs Detail White Embossing Powder.  It was cut into a thin strip to be added under the die cut sentiment.  3M 1/2″ Foam Tape was added to the back of the cupcake and sentiment strip.

An A2 cardbase was made from the same red cardstock and the sprinkles background was adhered to the front with Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive.  All focal images and sentiment items were adhered to the front of the cardbase with the same liquid adhesive and the card was done.

Blooming Bouquet Happy Birthday

The Altenew Blooming Bouquet stamp is a lovely, large image that makes a striking card.  This time I decided to stamp it twice in diagonal corners of the card and use Copic Markers to color the image.

The image was stamped on a quarter sheet of Neena Classic Crest 80# Solar White Cardstock in alternating corners with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink.  The Copic Markers used to color the image are listed below.

Once the image was colored the panel was die cut using a My Favorite Things Wonky Rectangle.  Darice Sticky Back Foam was cut 1/8″ smaller than the rectangle and adhered to the back.  The sentiment is from Hero Arts Birthday Message and was stamped on a strip of Gina K. Designs 120# Black Cardstock with VersaMark Ink and heat embossed with Gina K. Designs Detailed White Embossing Powder.  3M 1/2″ Foam Tape was added to the back and it was then adhered just under the half way part of the focal image.

The focal image was then adhered to a top folding A2 cardbase made from 120# Gina K. Designs White Cardstock with Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive.  Wink of Stella was added to the flowers and the card was done.

Remember This Make a Wish Birthday Card

I wanted to use the Altenew Spring Shower Cover Die, but I didn’t want to take the time to do paper piecing.  This time I decided to dry emboss the die as a background to Altenew’s Remember This, another beautiful layering flower stamp.  It’s hard to see in the picture, but it makes a lovely background to this card.

The largest My Favorite Things Rectangle STAX was used to cut Neena Classic Crest 80# Solar White Cardstock. Next the Altenew Spring Shower Cover Die was placed on the rectangle and run through the Big Shot a second time on the embossing tab using the Spellbinder tan embossing pad.  I wanted a deep impression and so a shim was used to create greater depth with the embossing.

I wanted to the embossed background to show as much as possible and so I decided to only use one flower and bud from the Remember This stamp set.  They were stamped with the Altenew Inks listed below.  I forgot that I had the matching dies, and so I fussy cut around the images.

The sentiment is from Mama Elephant’s Make a Wish and was stamped on The Paper Company Vellum with VersaMark Ink and heat embossed with Ranger Fine Detail Silver Embossing Powder.  The vellum was wrapped around the embossed rectangle and adhered to the back using Scotch Tape.  Darice Sticky Back Foam was cut 1/8″ smaller than the embossed rectangle and adhered to the back.  The bud and leaves were adhered to the vellum and embossed rectangle and the flower was adhered using 3M 1/2″ Foam Tape.

A top folding A2 cardbase was made from Gina K. Designs 120# White Cardstock and the focal image rectangle was adhered using Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive.  Wink of Stella was added to the flowers and the card and a clean, simple, but beautiful card was done.
