Red Poppy Birthday Wishes

This digital poppy stamp is from Just Inkline.  I like the way it is a corner image.  Makes a pretty clean and simple card.

I printed the image on Neena Classic Crest 80# Solar White Cardstock with a laser jet printer and then colored it with Copic Markers (R39, R29, R17; YR24, YR23; YG99, YG95, YG93; C7, C9, C10).  I die cut the images with a Simon Says Stamp Double Stitched Rectangle and then matted it with some black cardstock cut 1/8″ larger.  Both were adhered together with Kokuyo Dotliner Adhesive.  Darice Sticky Back Foam was added to the back.

The sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp Birthday Flowers with Hero Hues India Ink Black.  A top folding A2 cardbase was made from Gina K. Designs 120# White Cardstock.  The focal image rectangle was then adhered to the cardbase with Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive.  Clear Wink of Stella was added to the poppy and the card was done.

Patterned Paper Hello

Patterned papers can make some really pretty cards. These two cards were made from the same cardstock with different vellum and glitter cardstock embellishments.

The paper used is from the Paper Studio Antiquity 12″ x 12″ Paper Pack.  I cut a strip 4 1/2 x 12 of each paper and then die cut them using a My Favorite Things A2 Stitched Rectangle STAX die.  I wanted them to have a diagonal visual interest and so I pulled out my Lawn Fawn Stitched Border Die to die cut the angle, this ensured that edge would have stitched detail as well.  To separate the two patterns of paper a thin strip of Bronze Paper Studio Glittered Cardstock was adhered on the diagonal edge with Be Creative Tape.  I find this works best when adhering glittered cardstock.

An A2 top folding cardbase was made from Gina K. Designs Base Weight Ivory Cardstock.  The Patterned Paper was adhered to the front with Kokuyo Dotliner Adhesive.

For card #1 I die cut the My Favorite Things Plentiful Petals dies from Ivory Vellum and adhered them together with a little Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive in the center.  This would be covered up the by center of the flower, which was cut from the bronze glitter cardstock.  For added dimension a decorative bronze gemstone was added to the center of the flower.  It was adhered the card front with liquid glue.

Simon Says Stamp Painted Hello was die cut from the glitter cardstock, and another three time from scraps of ivory cardstock, adhered together with liquid glue and then adhered to the card front.

For card #2 I die cut Simon Says stamp Calliope Flourish twice from both vellum and glitter cardstock.  They were adhered together by adding liquid glue to the center of the flower and adhering them together a little off set, with the vellum on top.  The flourish was then adhered with liquid glue along the diagonal.  Gold Rhinestones from my stash were added to the center of the flowers to add visual interest and hide the liquid glue.

This time the Simon Says Stamp Painted Hello was adhered to the bottom right of the card front.

The Happiest of Birthdays Aubrey

This card was made for Aubrey who is a talented dancer, so when I say this cute Connie Font image call Abbie with Cake in her little tutu I thought it would be perfect.

I printed it on Neena Classic Crest 80# Solar White Cardstock with a laser printer and colored it with Copic Markers: RV21, RV20; RV14, RV13, RV11, RV10; V17, V15, V12; E55, E53, E51, E50; E11, E01, E00; B0000.  Once the coloring was complete it was die cut using the PIXScan Mat and the Silhouette Cameo.  Darice Sticky Back Foam was added to the back by tracing the image on the paper of the foam sheet and fussy cutting with scissors.

To provide focal interest behind the image a rectangle of the Neena cardstock was cut with the Lawn Fawn Outside In Stitched Scalloped Rectangles.  It was then run through the Big Shot with the Darice Hearts Diagonal Embossing Folder.  Darice Sticky Back Foam was added to the back for dimension.  The focal image was adhered with Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive.

The sentiment is from the Winnie & Walter Sentimental Birthday stamped onto vellum with VersaFine Onyx Black Ink and heat embossed with Hero Arts Ultra Fine Clear Embossing Powder.  It was cut into a thin strip and wrapped around the rectangle and adhered at the back with Scotch Tape.

Since Aubrey’s favorite color is pink, a rectangle of pink cardstock from my stash was cut with a My Favorite Things A2 Stitched Rectangle and adhered to a top folding A2 cardbase made from Gina K. Designs 120# White Cardstock with Kokuyo Dotliner Adhesive.  The focal image was then adhered to the front with Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive and the card was done.

Alcohol Ink Marbled Background Hello 2

This is the second hello card I made with an alcohol marbled background.  This time I pounced the ink on with the Ranger Blending Felt.  It gives a little different look, but still striking.

Cranberry, Sunshine Yellow, Gold Mixative, and the blending solution were added to the felt pad and then pounced on the Yupo Paper until it was blended to your liking.  Once it way dry it was cut with a My Favorite Things A2 Stitched Rectangle STAX die and adhered directly to a top folding cardbase made from Gina K. Designs 120# White Cardstock.

As with the other card, the background is so pretty you want to keep the sentiment to a minimum.  The Simon Says Stamp Painted Hello was cut from Paper Accents Gold Mirror Cardstock, and an additional three time from a scrap of red cardstock.  All were adhered together using Ranger Multi Medium Matte.  It was adhered to the front of the card with the same adhesive.

Alcohol Ink Marble Background Hello

You can get a lot of different looks from alcohol inks depending on how you apply it.  For this card I added a lot of the blending solution directly to the Yupo Paper, added the colors and then blew it around with a straw.  It gives a lovely marbled effect.

After the alcohol ink was dry, I sprayed it with Grumbacher Matte Final Fixative Spray.  The background was so pretty that I decided all the card needed was a die cut sentiment.  I die cut one of the “hello” words from My Favorite Things Happy Hello from Paper Accents Gold Mirror Cardstock,  I cut it an additional three times from red cardstock in my scraps and adhered them all together with Elmer’s Craft Bond Adhesive Spray.    The word was then  adhered it to the bottom right of the card with Ranger Multi Medium Matte.

Alcohol Striped Background Time to Celebrate

For this card I decided to apply the alcohol inks side to side.  I added more yellow to the felt pad that I had in other cards and really like the bright pop of color it added.

Yupo Paper is usually 5″ x 7″ in size, which give you a little room to select the best section of the background to use for your card. Once it was dry it was run through the Big Shop with a My Favorite Things A2 Stitched Rectangle. Paper Accents Gold Mirror Cardstock was cut 1/8″ larger and the two were adhered together using Be Creative Tape.

A top folding A2 cardbase was made from Gina K. Designs 120# White Cardstock. The background was cut with a paper trimmer to 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ and adhered directly to the cardbase with Kokuyo Dotliner Adhesive..

The focal image is a digital stamp from Papernest Dolls called Cupcake Girl.  It was printed on Neena Classic Crest 80# Solar White Cardstock with a laser jet printer and colored with Copic Markers Y19, Y17, Y15, Y11; Y08, Y06, Y02; RV14, RV13, RV11, RV10; E11, E00, E000, R20.

Once the coloring was complete the image was die cut using the PIXScan Mat and the Silhouette Cameo.  Darice Sticky Back Foam was added to the back by tracing the image onto the paper backing of the foam and fussy cutting with scissors.  To let the image standout from the colorful background a rectangle of Neena Solar White was cut with a My Favorite Things Stitched Rectangle and dry embossed with the Darice Dots Embossing Folder.  It was adhered directly to the striped background with Kokuyo Dotliner Adhesive.  The focal image was adhered to the embossed rectangle with Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive.

The sentiment from Whimsy Stamps Party Mini Letter Seals was stamped on a scrap of bright pink cardstock with Gina K. Designs Passionate Pink Ink.  It was then die cut using a My Favorite Things Pierced Circle STAX die.  A small yellow ribbon was added to the top, 3M 1/2″ Foam Tape was added to the back and adhered to the lower right of the white rectangle and the card was done.

A bright and colorful birthday card for MaryLynn.

Striped Alcohol Ink Background Birthday Balloon Bouquet

This is the second card I created using a more controlled application of Ranger Alcohol Inks.  This is done by using  a Ranger Felt Pad, loading it with the alcohol inks and blending solution and dragging across the Yupo Paper in a diagonal.  They are so striking that a simple die cut really make a lovely card.

Yupo Paper is usually 5″ x 7″ in size, which give you a little room to select the best section of the background to use for your card. Once it was dry it was run through the Big Shop with a My Favorite Things A2 Stitched Rectangle. The Simon Says Stamp Birthday Balloon Die was cut from Mirror Cardstock and adhered directly to the alcohol inked background with Ranger Collage Medium.

The word “happy” from the Lawn Fawn Happy Happy Happy stamp and die and again three times from white cardstock. They were adhered together using Ranger Collage Medium.
