Happy Birthday To You Blocks and Balloons

Love the colors of this plaid cardstock. It was cut using a stitched rectangle and matted with navy cardstock.

Simon Says Stamp’s Balloon Bouquet and the WPlus9 Happy Birthday dies were cut from navy cardstock. I pulled out some scraps of mint cardstock from scraps and backed the sentiment blocks. The blocks had foam tape added to the back for dimension. The birthday die was die cut three times and adhered together. The balloon bouquet was added directly to the plaid paper. I cut the balloon strings short so that they didn’t hand below the “happy” block.

The focal image and sentiment were cut from some red cardstock and adhered to the card front. Gold stickles were added to the flames and the card was done.

Hooray Balloons Birthday

I used the same plaid cardstock I had used on the previous card and decided to use a panel of blue cardstock for this card. The “hooray” sentiment was die cut from the navy cardstock using the outline die. Some matching peach cardstock was used to cut the “hooray” work several time and layered together with liquid glue and adhered to the opening in the blue panel.

Matching balloons were cut and adhered to the navy panel with foam tape. The strings were drawn on with a white gel pen. The final embellishment was to add some matching sequins.

Hooray It’s Your Birthday

A rectangle of plaid cardstock was cut using a stitched rectangle. The sentiment was cut from the middle of the plaid cardstock using Honey Bee Stamps Hooray Die. Next the outline die was cut to leave a blue border when matching blue cardstock was added to the plaid rectangle. The “hooray” sentiment was cut again using sticky back foam and placed into the opening using liquid adhesive.

I wasn’t happy with the way the card had turned out and so I pulled out matching colored sequins, but it still needed something, so I die cut some stitched balloons in matching colors and added it to the top of the sentiment, tucking the balloon strings behind the sentiment.

Silver Cupcake Happy Birthday

I really like the look of simple focal images on some great cardstock. For this card I pulled out some plaid cardstock from Lawn Fawn. I think that navy and green look great together. A rectangle of the plaid cardstock was cut using a stitched rectangle and then a mat of navy cardstock was added to the back. Then they were added to a top folding A2 cardbase.

Altenew’s Layered Cupcake was stamped on Navy Cardstock with VersaMark Ink and heat embossed with silver embossing powder and then die cut with the matching die. Black sticky back foam was added to the back.

The focal image is from Pretty Cute Stamps. It was printed and cut with the Silhouette Cameo PIXScan Mat. Foam Tape was added to the back and it was adhered to the card front.

Happy Birthday Frame

I really liked this birthday frame from Pretty Pink Posh. At first I thought I would color it with ZIG Clean Color Real Brush Makers, but I eventually decided on Copic Markers.

I colored outside of some of the images in the frame and so I pulled out a couple of stitched rectangles to create a frame from navy cardstock.

An ombre of paper was created using the same Copic Marker colors for the sentiment die cut, which was added to the middle of the birthday frame.

Enjoy Your Day Balloons

For this card I pulled out the Spellbinders Basic Lattice Background. It doesn’t have a finished edge so I pulled out My Favorite Things Pierced Rectangle Frame and adhered the two together with liquid glue.

Blue Distress Oxide Inks were used to ink blend a background behind the lattice die cut and then it was adhered to a top folding A2 cardbase.

A balloon bunch was printed and color with matching blue and teal inks, cut with the Silhouette Cameo PIXScan Mat. Foam tape was added to the back and then it was adhered to the card front.

Hope Your Birthday is the Brightest

A panel was die cut using the Simon Says Stamp Triangle Pattern Background. Another rectangle was ink blended in a rainbow order for behind the die. Both were adhered together with liquid glue and then they were both run through the Big Shot a second time with a Lawn Fawn Stitched Rectangle.

The focal image was printed with a laser printed and then die cut using the Silhouette Cameo PIXScan Mat. The image has seven candles but I only wanted five so that the background could be seen better so fussy cut a couple away. Foam tape was added to the back of the candles.

The sentiment was stamped on black cardstock with VersaMark Ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder. Foam tape was added to the back and then both the candles and the sentiment were added to the cardbase.
