Altenew Smile More Birthday Card

There are so many wonderful flower stamp sets out there.  I really like the playful flowers in the Altenew Smile More set.  I was inspired by a Laura Bassen card and wanted to create a similar card but wanted my flowers standing in a field of flowers.

I started with a quarter sheet of Gina K. Designs 80# White Cardstock and ink blended my background using some Inkylicious Ink Duster Blending Brushes and Distress Inks Tumbled Glass and Mowed Lawn.  Once I was happy with the background it was time to begin stamping and coloring my images with Copic Markers.

I stamped on some 80# white cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black.  The Copic Markers used were: Y13, Y15, Y17; YR12, YR14, YR16; V04, V06, V09; YG03, YG17, YG63; E55, E57, E59.  Once I was done coloring the flowers and leaves I die cut them with the matching dies.

For assembling my card I die cut the background using the largest Lawn Fawn Small Stitched Stackable Rectangles.  I then cut a rectangle 1/8” larger with my paper cutter out of Gina K. Designs 120# Black Cardstock and adhered it to the back of the ink blended background with Zookwang Scor-Tape.  I have found with the lighter 80# cardstock you can sometimes see the glue lines if you use a liquid glue like Tombo Mono.  I arranged the flowers where I wanted them and then stamped the stems with Altenew Forest Glade.  The two side flowers and leaves were adhered using Tombo Mono Multi Glue and the center flower with 3M ½” Foam Tape. The focal image rectangle was then adhered to a landscape A2 cardbase made from Gina K. Designs 120# White Cardstock.

The sentiment is from Technique Tuesdays Happy Die, which cuts both the word and an outline background.  The word was cut from a scrap of white cardstock and the background from a scrap of black cardstock.  The two were adhered together with Tombo Mono Multi Glue and then to the card front with the same glue.  The secondary sentiment is from Winnie & Walter The Big, the Bold, and Party stamp set and was stamped under the die cut sentiment with Hero Hues India Ink Black.

As a finishing touch, adding dimension and shine, Stickles Cinnamon was added to the center of the flowers and the card was done.
