Anemone Heartfelt Sympathy

When I initially saw Gina K. Designs Anemone stamp set I was not impressed and so I did not purchase it.  Then I saw a card that someone created using it and I was blown away with how beautiful the flowers were with their dark centers.

Unfortunately I’ve had a reason to use several sympathy cards recently and needed to create a few more to have on hand.  I love the way this card turned out.  Clean and simple in style, and oh so elegant.

I stamped the flowers and leaves with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink onto some Neena Classic Crest 80# Solar White Cardstock, since I planned to color them with Copic Markers.  The sprig was stamped with Altenew Forest Glad so the stems would be green.  The Copic Markers colors used were: YR15, YR14, YR00; G99, G94, G24; YG67, YG17, YG03, YG97, YG95, YG93.  I used Navy Nuvo Crystal Drops for the berries on the green sprigs.  For the stamen in the center of the flowers I used a white Uniball Gel Pen.

I die cut a rectangle of the same white cardstock using a My Favorite Things Wonky Rectangle.  Darice Sticky Back Foam was cut 1/8″ smaller and adhered to the back of the rectangle.

After the berries were dry I arranged the flowers, leaves, and sprigs the way I liked them and used Press ‘n Seal to keep them together.  This allows you to move them around on the card to see where to place the sentiment.  I stamped the sentiment from the Avery Elle With Sympathy stamp set using Hero Hues India Ink Black.  Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive was used to glue down the leaves and sprigs, holding it in place for a few moments to allow it to set.  I carefully removed the flowers and added 3M 1/2″ foam tape to the back, removed the backing, and carefully turned of the  Press ‘n Seal to adhere them where I desired.
