Many More Fantastic Years

For this card I used the Echo Park Balloons Stencil again, but this time in simply ink blended the stencil using three colors of teal ink from Gina K. Designs. I used a small blending brush so that I could create an ombre effect on the balloons.

For the focal image balloon and sentiment I used the same inks to ink blend some cardstock with the same colors, making the sentiment strip a little darker so the white embossed sentiment would stand out well.

The balloon was cut using an Birch Press Design Party Balloon. A sentiment was stamped on the balloon with VersaMark Ink and heat embossed it with white embossing powder. The same embossing powder was used on the sentiment strip. I used a Simon Says Stamp Sentiment Label die to cut the sentiment into a thin strip. I added fishtail ends to the strip by hand. Both were adhered to the stenciled background using sticky back foam.

It’s Your Day to Celebrate

For this card I started with a rectangle with stitched edges and pulled out my Echo Park Balloons Stencil and added some embossing past. It creates a subtle background the for the die cut balloons.

I ink blended some Neena Classic Crest 80# Solar White Cardstock with some Gina K. Designs green inks and die cut three balloons using the Birch Press Designs Party Balloons. I really like the stitched edges to these balloons. Once I had adhered them to the embossed balloon background.

Once the balloons were adhered I thought they were kind of blah, so I pulled out some Ranger Gold Stickles and added some designs to the balloon. I really liked the way it turned out. I added some gold thread for the balloon strings. The largest balloon was adhered directly to the embossed rectangle with liquid glue. The next two balloon were cut again with stick back foam and trimmed down a little so it would show when adhered to the back. I had to cut off a little of the foam where the small balloon overlapped the medium one. Gold thread was added for the balloon strings, which were wrapped around the rectangle and adhered in place with Scotch Tape.

A scrap of cardstock was ink blended with the same green inks and the sentiment was stamped with VersaMark Ink and heat embossed with gold embossing powder and adhered at the bottom of the panel with foam tape. I marked where the balloon strings were so that I could cut small strips of foam and leave a little channel for the strings to the sentiment would lay flat.

The focal image panel was adhered to a top folding A2 cardbase using dotliner adhesive and the card was done.

Happy Birthday To You Balloons

I’ve had the Avery Elle Balloons Stamp for quite some time and hadn’t used it yet.  I recently purchased the Echo Park Balloons Stencil and thought they would work together well to create a cute birthday card.  I liked the way it turned out.

I began by ink blending the stencil onto a quarter sheet of Neena Classic Crest 80# Solar White Cardstock with Distress Wilted Violet and Picked Raspberry.  Once it was completely dry it was die cut using a My Favorite Things Stitched Rectangle STAX and Darice Sticky Back Foam was added to the back.  The balloons were stamped with Distress Oxide Wilted Violet and Picket Raspberry since it gives a smooth and even stamp.  Sticky back foam was added to each balloon, cutting around the areas were the balloons would rest on one another so that they would be an even height.  Cousin Iridescent Silver Cord was added as string to the balloons which were then adhered to the stenciled background, wrapping the cord around the back of the of the panel.  The panel was then adhered to a top folding A2 cardbase with Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive and the card was done.
