Red Geometric Border Yah! It’s Your Birthday

This is the second card I made using the Fiskars Geo Border stamp. This time I decided to make it a bright red. The rectangle was sized down using a stitched rectangle. I didn’t like the unfinished edge and so I pulled out a scrap of red cardstock and created a thin strip and adhered it over the flat edge of the border.

For the focal image I pulled out My Favorite Things Party Balloons and stamped three different stamps, two with sentiments and one with diagonal stripes. They were added to the front of the rectangle with foam tape for dimension.

The sentiment if from Papertrey Ink’s Stylish Sentiments: Birthday.

I pulled out a red pen to add the strings to the balloons and the card was done.

Green Geometric Border Happy Birthday

I’ve had these geometric border stamps from Fiskars for a long time and decided to use them on some stamps. For this card I stamped the triangles on either side of a rectangle die cut using a stitched rectangle.

The focal image was stamped in the center of the borders and colored with Copic Markers. The sentiment was stamped below. However, it looked flat on the card front, so I stamped it again, colored it again, fussy cut it with scissors, added some foam tape for dimension and placed on top of the prior stamped image. I liked this much better.

I created a mat for behind the rectangle using the same green ink that had been used on the triangle border. It was then adhered to a top folding A2 cardbase and the card was done.

Cupcake Brigitta Happy Birthday Card

This is a personalized birthday card for MaryLynn made with C. C. Designs Cupcake Brigitta.  When I create one of these cards for the young women at church I try and find an image that has close to the same length of hair that they have and then I color them to look like them, with their favorite colors.

The image was stamped on Gina K. Designs 80# White Cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink.  I knew that MaryLynn’s favorite colors were pink and green and so I searched through my paper packs and found the perfect patterned paper in Perfect Prints Forever in Time 6 x 6 Paper Stack.  The was the inspiration for the Copic markers used to color the image (colors listed below).

Once the coloring was complete the image was die cut using Spellbinders Classic Ovals Large.  I searched through my scraps of paper to find a pink that would compliment the patterned paper and die cut a Spellbinders Scalloped Ovals Large.  The focal image oval and the scalloped oval were adhered together with Tombo Stamp Runner Dot Adhesive and then Darice Sticky Back Fun Foam was added to the back.

A rectangle of the patterned paper was die cut using the rectangle from Simon Says Stamp Bundle of Stitched Shapes.  A rectangle 1/8″ larger was cut from the pink cardstock and both were adhered together with the same dot adhesive.  Darice Sticky Back Fun Foam was added to the back for dimension.  An A2 top folding cardbase was made from Gina K. Designs 120# White Cardstock and the patterned paper rectangle was adhered to the front with Tombo Mono Multi Glue.

The sentiment from Fiskars Birthday Bash was stamped with VersaMark Ink on a scrap of pink cardstock and heat embossed with Gina K. Designs Detail White Embossing Powder.  It was then cut into a thin strip and fun foam was added to the back.  It was placed to the bottom of the patterned paper with Tombo Mono Multi Glue and then the focal image centered above it and adhered with the same glue.  Nuvo Crystal Drops Caribbean Ocean and Bubblegum Blush were scattered on the focal image and the card was done.
