Garden Treasures Happy Birthday

This is the second card made with Altenew’s Garden Treasures stamp set.  This time a small focal image rectangle was used to allow for stamping the sentiment below the focal image.

The layered flowers were stamped with Altenew Inks (colors listed below) and then die cut with the matching dies, which makes card making so much easier.

A side folding A2 cardbase was made from Gina K. Designs 120# White Cardstock.  A rectangle was cut from Neena Classic Crest 80# Solar White Cardstock using a My Favorite Things Wonky Rectangle and adhered directly to the cardbase with Be Creative Tape.

The die cut flowers were arrange the way I liked them and then picked up with Glad Press ‘n Seal, making it easy to keep them as arranged to adhere to the focal image rectangle.  Before gluing the flowers in place the sentiment from Hero Arts Birthday Messages was stamped with Hero Hues India Ink Black.

The leaves and smaller flowers were adhered to the focal image rectangle with Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive.  3M 1/2″ Foam Tape was added to the back of the yellow and blue flowers.  I wasn’t careful enough removing the press and seal and a little of the paper on yellow flower tore.  It was glued down with some Raner Multi Medium Matte.  To cover the small imperfection Studio Katia Majestic Confetti was place over the area and scatter around the flower and the card was done.

Diamond Stencil Hello Card

I recently purchased the Hero Arts Diamond Stencil and decided to use it for a masculine hello card.  I really like the way that it turned out.

I ink blended a rectangle of Neena Classic Crest 80# Solar White Cardstock with Distress Oxide Inks Broken China, Twisted Citron, and Fossilized Amber.  The Oxide Inks blend beautifully and seamlessly.  The panel was then die cut using the largest Memory Box Stitched Rectangle, which is the size of the front of an A2 cardbase.

For the sentiment a My Favorite Things Happy Hello die was cut from the bottom right of the panel and then again from black cardstock.  Be Creative Tape was added to the panel of the die cut work on the stenciled panel so that the black letters could be easily inlaid.

Darice Sticky Back Foam was added to the back of the panel and it was then adhered to a top folding A2 cardbase made from Gina K. Designs 120# White Cardstock with Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive and the card was done.

Mandala Stencil Birthday Card

I really like how the Simon Says Stamp Mandala Stencil creates some heart shapes in the design.  For this stencil a purple and pink color scheme was used by ink blending Distress Oxide Inks: Picked Raspberry, Wilted Violet, Shaded Lilac, and Spun Sugar.

Once the ink blending was complete the design was run through the Big Shot with a My Favorite Things Stitched Rectangle STAX.  A dark purple cardstock was found in my stash and cut 1/8″ larger than the focal image and adhered to the back with Kokuyo Dotliner Adhesive.

The sentiment is from Hero Arts Birthday Messages and was stamped on WorldWin Translucent Vellum with VersaMark Ink and heat embossed with Ranger Fine Detail Silver Embossing Powder.  It was cut into a strip and wrapped around the focal image rectangle and adhered to the back using Scotch Tape.  Darice Sticky Back Foam was cut with the same rectangle die and added to the back for dimension.  A top folding cardbase was made from Gina K. Designs 120# White Cardstock and the focal image was adhered to the front with Tombo Mono Multi Glue.

Circular Lace Stencil Birthday Card

I’ve seen some card recently where they ink blended backgrounds using some of the new stencils from Simon Says Stamp and let that be the focal image of the card.  This card uses the Circular Lace Stencil and was ink blended with Distress Inks: Squeezed Lemonade, Picked Raspberry, and Broken China.  It makes a striking card.

The background is so eye catching that all you need is a sentiment, which was Mama Elephant Happy Script Die cut from Paper Accents Gold Mirror Cardstock with a secondary sentiment from Hero Arts Birthday Messages stamped with VersaMark Ink on black cardstock and heat embossed with Hero Arts Detailed White Embossing Powder.

Antique Poinsettia and Big Scripty Holiday Christmas Card

I love Hero Arts Antique Poinsettia Stamp and Die because the die cut multiple layers of the same image to give a beautiful layered image.

The image from this stamp set was stamped three times.  Once on green cardstock and two times on red cardstock with VersaMark Ink and then heat embossed with Ranger Fine Detail Gold Embossing Powder.  Using the matching dies the full image, which includes the leaves was cut from the green cardstock.  The flower is cut twice, once with the die cutting the entire flower, and a second time with a die cutting only the center layer of the flower.

A rectangle of Neena Classic Crest 80# Solar White Cardstock was die cut using a a My Favorite Things Stitched Rectangle STAX.  Next a Lawn Fawn Outside In Stitched Scalloped Rectangle was embossed using the Big Shot and a Spellbinders Silicon Mat, which added a beautiful dimension to the card front.

The poinsettia image was placed on the rectangle to determine where to stamp the sentiment from Simon Says Stamp Big Scripty Holiday Greetings in VersaMark Ink and heat embossed with the same gold embossing powder.  The green leaves die cut was adhered to the upper right corner of the rectangle with Tombo Mono Multi Glue.  3M 1/2″ Foam Tape was used to adhered each of the flower layers together.

Hero Arts Artistic Dahlia Happy Birthday

This flower from Hero Arts is really unique.  It comes with the stamp and die, but there are multiple layers to the die which gives added dimension to the image.  I stamped the image four times with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and colored them all with Copic Markers: R08, R05, R22; YG97, YG95, YG93.  Next I used the dies to cut different portions of the flower and layered them together using foam squares.  This adds a lot of dimension to the image and it really pops from the page.

To assemble the card I created a top folding A2 cardbase made from Gina K. Designs 120# White Cardstock and ran it through the Big Shot using the Cuttlebug Charles Embossing Folder.  I really like the look of the dotted chevron in this folder.  I die cut a white frame using My Favorite Things Stitched Rectangle Frame from Neena Classic Crest 80# Solar White Cardstock and cut a rectangle just larger than the opening from the same cardstock.  It was here that the sentiment from Technique Tuesday Cosmos was stamped with Hero Hues India Ink Black.  Strips of 3M ½” Foam Tape were cut in half and added to the back of the frame.  The sentiment rectangle was adhered to the back of the frame.  It was then adhered to the front of the cardbase with Kokuyo Dotliner Adhesive.

3M ½” Foam Tape was added to the back of the flower image, only to the areas that were unobstructed by the frame, and then adhered to the lower left corner of the card front.  I really like the crisp, clean look to this card.

Countryside Bouquet Happy Birthday

This is another Power Poppy Digital Stamp called Countryside Bouquet that I recently purchased.  It was printed on Neena Classic Crest 80# Solar White Cardstock using an HP Laser Printer and then the outline cut using the PIXScan Mat and the Silhouette Cameo.

In the Doodlebug Kraft in Color 6 x 6 Paper Pad I found this yellow paper with little white flower on it and decided to use it as a background for this image.  It was die cut using the WPlus9 Gift Card Layers Rectangle, which cut a rectangle exactly the size of an A2 top folding cardbase.  It was adhered to the cardbase using Kokuyo Dotliner Adhesive.

The Copic Markers used pulled the pretty spring lemon yellow into the flower arrangement.  Copic Markers used were: YG95, YG91, G94, G21, G46, G17; YG01, YG03, YG17, YG67; B24, B23; Y08, Y02; R85, R83, R81; V15, V12; BG0000.  The flower arrangement was scanned and cutout using the PIXScan Mat and the Silhouette Cameo.  It was placed on some Darice Fun Foam, traced with a pencil, fussy cut, and the foam adhered to the back of the image.

A rectangle of Neena Classic Crest 80# Solar White Cardstock was cut using the Winnie & Walter Audrey Essentials Scalloped Rectangle Die and adhered to the yellow card front with Kokuyo Dotliner Adhesive.

The flower arrangement was placed on the card front to determine where to stamp the sentiment from Hero Arts Messages with a Flourish in Hero Hues India Ink Black.  The focal image was adhered above the sentiment with Tombo Mono Multi Glue and the card was done.

Happy Birthday Bouquet

Clearly Besotted’s fall release was filled with beautiful floral images.  This flower arrangement is from the “On Your Day” stamp set and was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink onto some Neena Classic Crest 80# Solar White Cardstock.  It was then die cut using the PIXScan Mat and the Silhouette Cameo.

The image was color with Copic Markers: BG13, BG11; G46, G94, G21; B95, B93, B91; R85, R83; BG000.  It was placed on some Darice Sticky Back Foam and traced with a pencil, fussy cut with scissors, and then adhered to the back of the image.  I think these blue, blue green, and pink color made a pretty card.

A scalloped rectangle was cut from Neena Classic Crest 80# Solar White Cardstock using the Lawn Fawn Outside In Stitched Scalloped Rectangle.  I went through my scraps of paper and found a pretty teal blue to use as a background for the scalloped rectangle.  It really adds a lot of visual interest to the card.

A rectangle was cut with a guillotine trimmer to be exactly the same size as a top folding A2 cardbase.  The blue rectangle was adhered to the cardbase using Kokuyo Dotliner Adhesive and then Darice Sticky Back Foam was cut 1/8” smaller than the scalloped rectangle and adhered together with the same adhesive.  Both were adhered to the front of a top folding A2 cardbase using Tombo Mono Multi Glue.

The focal image was placed on the card front to determine were to stamp the sentiment from Hero Arts Birthday Messages with Distress Oxide Faded Jeans.  The focal image was adhered above the sentiment with Tombo Mono Multi Glue and the card was done.
