Happy Birthday Gorgeous Keilie

This birthday card is for Keilie who turns fifteen on August 22.  She is a beautiful young lady with lots of long dark hair and beautiful olive toned skin.  I thought it would be fun to create a card that had her adding some makeup to enhance her natural beauty.

This is a digital image from Lily of the Valley called Jasmine Glam.  I printed it on Neena Classic Crest 80# Solar White Cardstock using my Silhouette Cameo with registration marks so I could cut around the image and pop it up on the card front.  The Copic Markers I used to color the image are listed below.

Once the die cutting was complete I traced the image on the paper side of some Darice Sticky Back Foam and fussy cut it, making it just smaller than the image.  I find this is the easiest and quickest way to add dimension to a die cut image.

I die cut a rectangle from the Neena cardstock using a Gina Marie Designs Scalloped Rectangle and adhered it to a top folding A2 cardbase made from some light blue cardstock I had in my stash.  I placed the focal image on the card front to determine where to stamp the sentiment.  I thought this sentiment from Hero Arts Birthday Messages was perfect for the image.  It was stamped using Altenew Persian Blue Ink.  The focal image was adhered using Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive and the card was done.

Happy Birthday Smart and Beautiful Jessica

I am always looking for great images for birthday cards for the young women at church.  When I saw this image from Lily of the Valley call Jasmine Studying I knew it would be perfect for Jessica.  She is such a smart young lady whose favorite color is red.

I printed the image on Neena Classic Crest 80# Solar White Cardstock using a laser jet printer.  It was die cut with an A2 My Favorite Things Stitched Rectangle STAX.  The image was colored with Copic Markers E35, E33, E31; YR24, YR21; Y18, Y15, Y13; C7, C5, C3; R89, R37, R17; R39, R29, R24; B26, B24, B23; B99, B97, B95; E51, E50; E35, E53, E50; B000, B0000; E11, C01, E000, R20.  I wanted the desk to look like wood and so darker woodgrain lines were added with E35.

The sentiment is from Penny Black’s Sprinkles and Smiles and was stamped under the desk with Hero Hues India Ink Black.  Darice Sticky Back Foam was cut 1/8″ smaller than the focal image rectangle for added dimension.  A rectangle of red cardstock from my stash was cut 1/8″ larger than the stitched rectangle and the focal image was adhered using a Kokuyo Dotliner Adhesive.

A top folding A2 cardbase was made from Gina K. Designs 120# White Cardstock and the focal image was adhered to the front with Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive and the card was done.
