Love You Forever Farm Boy

Yesterday my farm boy and I celebrated 43 years of marriage. Life has been sweet. It hasn’t been without its challenges, but together we have weathered every storm, and most days we have basked in the sunshine of our love for each other. I would marry him again in a heartbeat and I am grateful to have eternity to look forward to with him by my side. Thank you honey for filling my life with joy.

Michael grew up on a farm and was determined not to be a farm boy when he grew up.  But the lessons learned on a farm teach you how to have faith in what is ahead and how to work hard.  And no matter what you do in life, you can’t take that farm boy away from who you are. So, when I saw the Little Darlings Valentine Moments stamp with the little boy in overalls sitting on a fence it reminded me of the farm boy I married all those years ago and I knew it would be perfect for an anniversary card.

I stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on Gina K. Designs 80# white card stock and colored it with Copic markers.

My card base was some blue paper from my stash, cut 4 1/4″ x 11 and scored at 5 1/2″ for a top folding card.  I cut some Gina K. Design 80# White Cardstock with the Largest Lawn Fawn Stitched Stackable Rectangles, but ran it through again to cut off a little on two sides so it would be slightly smaller than the card base.  I die cut the image with the Sizzix Rounded Tag, but it was a little too tall and so I ran it through again until it was the height desired and glued it to a piece of matching blue card stock.  I then fussy cut a matching blue border.  To add dimension I applied 3M 1/2″ Foam Tape to the back and attached it to the white panel, towards the top so it left enough room for the sentiment.  I die cut the word “Love” from Hero Arts stamp and cut Love set and added foam adhesive to the bottom of the word so the top of the word would lie flat on the image panel and the bottom of the word would be supported.  I nestled the words you and forever from Winnie & Walter The Big, the Bold and You stamp set with Memento Paris Dusk ink, scattered a few sequins from Doodlebug Blue Jeans and Pretty Pink Posh Seattle Spirit Mix, and the card was done.
