MFT Summer School White Space Flower Fusion Cover Up

I love My Favorite Things Summer School videos.  They are so instructional and really fun to play along with.  The first challenge this year was using white space.  Most of the cards I have created thus far fall into this category because I like a lot of white space on my cards.  They may fall into other categories as well, but white space is definitely part of what I love.  Here is my first card.

I love the beautiful cards that the My Favorite Things Flower Fusion Background die makes.  You really don’t have to do anything else but add it to a card front.  For this card I added Darice Sticky Back Foam to the back of a rectangle of Neena Classic Crest 80# Solar White Cardstock for added dimension.  I adhered it to the front of a top folding A2 cardbase made from Gina K. Designs 120# White Cardstock.

For added visual interest I added white pearl flower centers.  For the sentiment I first tried using the scripty hello from My Favorite Things Happy Hellos, but it just got lost on the background, so I decided to use the  block “hello” instead.  I cut it from Gina K. Designs Base Weight Onyx Black Cardstock four times and adhered the letters together with Ranger Multi Medium Matte.  To adhere the letters to the card front I used Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive.  I love the way the back looks against all the white.

Stitched Flowers Happy Day

When I got into my craft room this morning I still had all the Distress Oxide Inks out that I had used to create a rainbow background yesterday.  I loved the way it had turned out and so I decided to make a couple of backgrounds before putting the ink away.

This card was inspired by a card I saw on Splitcoaststamper by Angie.  She had used My Favorite Things Stitched Flowers dies and created an amazing card.  You can see it at: https://www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/photo/2875951?&si=stitched+flowers.  I loved the white flowers against her bright blue background. I decided to use a rainbow background instead.

Angie had yellow centers to her flowers, I decided to use white glitter cardstock so the bouquet remained totally neutral, since there was so much color going on with the background.  I love the way it looks against the rainbow background.  The background was cut using a My Favorite Things A2 Stitched Rectangle.

I arranged the flower bouquet, picked it up with Glad Press ‘n Seal and added liquid glue to the bottom flowers.  Three of the upper flowers were adhered using on layer of 3M 1/2″ Foam Tape, and the top flower was adhered with two layers of foam tape.

For the sentiment I pulled out Mama Elephant’s Script Happy die and cut it once from white glitter cardstock and another three times from Neena Classic Crest 80# Solar White Cardstock.  They were adhered together using Elmer’s Craft Bond Spray Adhesive.  I placed the die cut word on the background to determine where to stamp the secondary sentiment, which is from SugarPea Designs Simply Fabulous, stamped with VersaMark Ink and heat embossed with Gina K. Designs Detail White Embossing Powder.  The word happy was then adhered using Ranger Multi Medium Matte.

Darice Sticky Back Foam was cut 1/8″ smaller than the rainbow panel and adhered to the back.  A top folding A2 cardbase was made from Gina K. Designs 120# White Cardstock.  The rainbow panel was adhered to the front with Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive and the card was done.

Rainbow Hooray! It’s Your Birthday

This week’s featured stamper on Splitcoaststampers is Cheiron Brandon.  I decided to case one of her cards to created this rainbow birthday card.  Cheiron’s card can be found at: https://www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/photo/2863217?&cat=500&ppuser=246382.

I loved the rainbow background against the white die cut background.  Cheiron used patterned paper, but I decided to ink blend my background with Distress Oxide Inks onto some Neena Classic Crest 80# Solar White Cardstock.

I pulled out my Avery Elle Horizontal Stripes Die.  It not only creates a great background, it also included this word die.  I cut the background and word dies four times from the Neena Classic Crest 80# Solar White cardstock and stacked them together using Elmer’s Craft Bond Spray Adhesive.  I placed the background onto my rainbow background to determine where to stamp the secondary sentiment from Simon Says Stamp Big Birthday Wishes, stamped with Hero Hues India Ink Black.

The stacked die cuts were adhered to the rainbow background with Nuvo Deluxe adhesive.  The focal panel was then adhered to a top folding A2 cardbase made from Gina K. Designs 120# White Cardstock.  It was a pretty easy card to make, but the rainbow background really makes it pop.

When I was done I had the leftover negative space of the circle/word die.  I glued all the layers together and added it to another rainbow ink blended background.  Added some rainbow sequins around the word and adhered it to the card front with Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive.

The secondary sentiment is from My Favorite Things Jungle Vibes.  It was stamped with VersaMark Ink below the circle die cut and heat embossed with Gina K. Designs Detail White Embossing Powder.

I love when you can get two card at once.

Let Freedom Ring

This card was created as inspired by Splitcoaststampers card layout design for this week.  Since it was the week of July 4th I decided to pull out this cute image from La-La Land Crafts called Saluting Luka.  I am so grateful for all those men and women who dedicate their lives to keep America and the world free.  This is in honor of them.

I revised the layout slightly with the placement of the small rectangles/square. I cut the three rectangle/square elements of the card from Gina K. Designs Kraft Cardstock.  I used My Favorite Things A2 Stitched Rectangles and Avery Elle’s Double Pierced Square dies.  I had to elongate the square to make a rectangle, and the A2 rectangle needed to be elongated as well so that it would align with the other two elements.

I stamped Luka on some Neena Classic Crest 80# Solar White Cardstock using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink.  He was colored using Copic Markers (listed below).  I used my Silhouette PIXScan mat to scan and cut around the image.  I placed the image onto the paper side of Darice Sticky Back Foam and traced around it, fussy cut it just smaller than the trace, and adhered it to the back of the image for added dimension.  Luka was the focal image and was placed on the long rectangle and adhered with Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive.  For the banner across the bottom I decided to use a stars banner from Stampin’ Up/Sizzix Mini Treat Bag out of red cardstock and back it with gold glitter cardstock.  I added a small square of foam to each end and placed it across the bottom of Luka.

I searched online to find another image that would compliment Luka and found this really cute patriotic eagle holding an American Flag created by MarinaNeira.  I saved the image, uploaded it into the Silhouette Cameo, traced around the image and cut it out to add to the lower elongated rectangle.

For the upper square I die cut a Spellbinders Stars Five out of gold glitter cardstock and added one of the red stars leftover from the banner.  I scatter the three of the remaining small red hearts around the eagle.

For the sentiment I pulled out Dare 2B Artzy’s My Hero stamp set and stamped it in the lower right of the card with VersaMark Ink and heat embossed it with Ranger Fine Detail Gold Embossing Powder.  I decided to add some score lines between the images and the sentiment and the card was done.

Layered Daisies All About Celebrating You

I love this Gina K. Designs stamp set.  It makes beautiful cards.  I used it previously to create some beautiful hello cards.  For this card I decided to use it for a birthday card.  I love the pink and blue color combination with the mint green leaves.

I stamped the daisies with Gina K. Designs and Altenew Inks (listed below) onto Neena Classic Crest 80# Solar What Cardstock and then die cut them with the matching dies.  I have really enjoyed using My Favorite Things Stitched Mod Rectangle STAX dies.  It really creates a lovely focal interest to a card.  I laid flowers in the in the corners of the panel to determine where the stamp the sentiment from Penny Black Sprinkles and Smiles with Hero Hues India Ink Black.  The flowers were then adhered directly to the mod panel with Ranger Multi Medium Matte, with the exception of the large pink flowers, which was adhered using 3M 1/2″ Foam Tape.

Darice Sticky Back Foam was added to the back of the focal image panel and then adhered to a top folding A2 cardbase made from Gina K. Designs 120# White Cardstock with Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive.  As a final embellishment, Pretty Pink Posh Clear Droplets were scattered on the card front and adhered using Ranger Multi Medium Matte and the card was done.

3-D Mechanics Masculine Hello

I really like this new Sizzix 3-D Texture Embossing Folder.  It is perfect for masculine cards.  I embossed it on Paper Accents Silver Mirror Cardstock and distressed it with VersaFine Onyx Black Ink and heat embossed it with Hero Arts Fine Detail Clear Embossing Powder.  Love the distressed/tarnished look it gives to a card.

Once the embossing was complete I ran the panel through the Big Shot with a My Favorite Things A2 Stitched Rectangle STAX die.  It was then adhered to a top folding A2 cardbase made from Gina K. Designs Base Weight Onyx Black cardstock using Be Creative Tape.

The sentiment is one of the My Favorite Things Happy Hello dies and was cut four times from black cardstock, adhered together with Ranger Multi Medium Matte and then adhered with the same liquid glue to the bottom right of the card front.

A quick and easy card.

Foundry Masculine Hello

I was in need for some masculine hello card to send to new members in our church.  A few of the new Sizzix 3-D Texture Embossing Plates are perfect and create really amazing cards.  For this card the embossing plate was used on Paper Accents Silver Mirror cardstock and then distress with VersaFine Onyx Black Ink.

The VersaFine ink really does dry on the mirror cardstock, so I dried it as best I could with a heat tool and then ran VersaMark Ink over the surface and heat embossed it with Hero Arts Fine Detail Clear Embossing Powder.  I love the distressed look this creates.

The embossed panel was run through the Big Shot again with a My Favorite Things A2 Stitched Rectangle.  The sentiment is one of the My Favorite Things Happy Hello Dies.  It was cut from the embossed panel and an additional three times from a scrap of black cardstock.  All were adhered together using Ranger Multi Medium Matte and then inlaid back into focal image panel.

I was really happy with the way this turned out.

Layered Daisies Hi

This is the third card I made with Gina K. Designs Layered Daisies Stamp and Die set.  To add visual interest to the card front a rectangle of Neena Classic Crest 80# Solar White Cardstock was cut using a Gina Marie Designs Loopy Rectangle.  I love the way it draws the eye to the beautiful flower arrangement.

The flowers were stamp on some Neena cardstock with Gina K. Designs inks (listed below) and then die cut with the matching dies.  The flowers were adhered in the lower left corner using Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive.  The top flower and leaves were adhered using Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive and the others with 3M 1/2″ Foam Tape.

The sentiment is one of the dies from the My Favorite Things Happy Hellos.  It was cut from Paper Accents Gold Mirror Cardstock and again from Darice Sticky Back Foam.  I had to place it a little higher on the card front than desired because it just didn’t fit in the lower right.  It was adhered using Ranger Multi Medium Matte.  I’m still please with the overall design.

A top folding A2 cardbase was made from Gina K. Designs Base Weight Fresh Asparagus Cardstock.  Darice Sticky Back Foam was added to the back of the loopy rectangle and it was adhered to the cardbase using Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive.  Nuvo Crystal Drops in Ebony Black were added to the center of the daisies for added dimension and interest and the card was done.

Layered Daisies Hello II

This is the second card that I made using Gina K. Designs Layered Daisies.  This time I had a coral and turquoise color scheme and used leaves from Altenew’s Adore You stamp set.

The daisies were stamped on Neena Classic Crest 80# Solar White Cardstock and stamped with Gina K. Designs inks, listed below.  The leaves  are from Altenew’s Adore You.  A rectangle of the same white cardstock was cut using a My Favorite Things Wonky Rectangle, which was adhered to a side folding A2 cardbase made from Gina K. Designs Grass Green Base Weight Cardstock.

The wonky rectangle was adhered directly to the cardbase using Kokuyo Dotliner Adhesive Long.  The flowers were arranged the way I liked them and then picked up using Glad Press ‘n Seal, which allows you to keep them arranged and turn them over to add adhesive.  For this arrangement 3M 1/2″ Foam Tape was added to the back and then placed on the wonky rectangle.

The sentiment was cut from Paper Accents Gold Mirror Cardstock using the Mama Elephant Hello Script Die.  It was cut again from Darice Sticky Back Foam and the mirror cardstock was adhered to the front and then glued to the card front with Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive.

Patterned Paper Hello

Patterned papers can make some really pretty cards. These two cards were made from the same cardstock with different vellum and glitter cardstock embellishments.

The paper used is from the Paper Studio Antiquity 12″ x 12″ Paper Pack.  I cut a strip 4 1/2 x 12 of each paper and then die cut them using a My Favorite Things A2 Stitched Rectangle STAX die.  I wanted them to have a diagonal visual interest and so I pulled out my Lawn Fawn Stitched Border Die to die cut the angle, this ensured that edge would have stitched detail as well.  To separate the two patterns of paper a thin strip of Bronze Paper Studio Glittered Cardstock was adhered on the diagonal edge with Be Creative Tape.  I find this works best when adhering glittered cardstock.

An A2 top folding cardbase was made from Gina K. Designs Base Weight Ivory Cardstock.  The Patterned Paper was adhered to the front with Kokuyo Dotliner Adhesive.

For card #1 I die cut the My Favorite Things Plentiful Petals dies from Ivory Vellum and adhered them together with a little Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive in the center.  This would be covered up the by center of the flower, which was cut from the bronze glitter cardstock.  For added dimension a decorative bronze gemstone was added to the center of the flower.  It was adhered the card front with liquid glue.

Simon Says Stamp Painted Hello was die cut from the glitter cardstock, and another three time from scraps of ivory cardstock, adhered together with liquid glue and then adhered to the card front.

For card #2 I die cut Simon Says stamp Calliope Flourish twice from both vellum and glitter cardstock.  They were adhered together by adding liquid glue to the center of the flower and adhering them together a little off set, with the vellum on top.  The flourish was then adhered with liquid glue along the diagonal.  Gold Rhinestones from my stash were added to the center of the flowers to add visual interest and hide the liquid glue.

This time the Simon Says Stamp Painted Hello was adhered to the bottom right of the card front.
