Fly High on Your Birthday

I really like this Hot Air Balloon from Birdcards.com.  It’s hard to find her images any more,  OI guess she got a lot of flack from people because she was giving away her designs without charging for them.  It’s too back that people can be like that, because it is discouraging when you are trying to do something nice.

Anyway, I printed this image on Neena Classic Crest 80# Solar While Cardstock and die cut around it with my PIXScan and the Silhouette Cameo.  I found this great paper in the Momenta Cardstock Carton 12 x 12 Paper Pack that looked like watercolored sky.  I used a Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangle die to cut a panel of the blue cardstock.  I die cut some stitched clouds from the Avery Elle Pierced Clouds Die and scattered them on the card front to determine where I wanted to place the sentiment.

I didn’t have a sentiment that would go along with the theme of the card and so I created my own using the Yellow Daisy Font for “Fly High” ad Bangle Thin Font for the secondary sentiment and ran it through my HP laser printer.  A top folding A2 cardbase was made from Gina K. Designs 120# White Cardstock and the blue sky rectangle and sentiment was adhered to the front with Kokuyo Dotliner Adhesive.

The clouds were adhered directly to the blue sky paper with Ranger Multi Medium Matte and 3M ½” Foam Tape was added to the back of the hot air balloon, which was then adhered to the card front and the card was done.

Three Scoops Birthday I and II

I made two cards from this Pinterest Digital Stamp from Bridscards.com.  It was printed with a Laser Printer, die cut with the Silhouette Cameo and the PIXScan Mat and colored with Copic Markers E59, E27, E57; RV11, RV02, RV10; G00, BG11, G000; R29, R27; E37, E33.

An A2 top folding cardbase was made from Gina K. Designs 120# White Cardstock.  A small rectangle of pink and silver foil cardstock from Momenta Cardstock Carton 12 x 12 Paper Pack was die cut using the Lawn Fawn Small Stitched Stackable Rectangle.  Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream is one of my grand-daughter’s favorites, so dots of chocolate chips were added to the mint ice cream.  I made an error coloring the image with Copic Markers: E59, E27, E57; RV11, RV02, RV10; G00, BG11, G000; R29, R27; E37, E33, so it was printed a second time and the ice cream was fussy cut from the cone and 3M ½” Foam Tape was added to the back for dimension

The sentiment was stamped with Lawn Distress Oxide Ink to the bottom of the card front and then it was dry embossed using the Cuttlebug Polka Dot Embossing Folder.

A very simple card to make.

Treat Yourself Birthday Card

I had this cute striped yellow paper from the Doodlebug Kraft in Color 6 x 6 Paper Pack and thought it would be a great background for this cupcake digital image from Pinterest Pin (473229863336006278).  Purple is opposite yellow on the color chart and so I decided to use it as the accent color for the flowers and candle.  The patterned paper was die cut using a My Favorite Things Wonky Rectangle.

I printed the image with my HP Laser Printer onto Neena Classic Crest 80# Solar White Cardstock and then die cut around it with the PIXScan Matt and the Silhouette Cameo.   I decided to use Gina K. Designs Wild Lilac Ink to stamp the sentiment from Hero Arts Birthday Message, but I didn’t use the MISTI and didn’t get a clean impression.  I was pretty bummed because other yellow patterned paper I had on hand just wasn’t looking as good.  What I finally decided to do was to take some plain yellow cardstock from the Recollections Essentials 6 x 6 Paper Pad and stamp the sentiment onto it, this time using the MISTI.  I then fussy cut around the sentiment and adhered it directly below the cupcake.

I colored the image with Copic Markers E59, E27, E57; V09, V06, V04, V25; Y38; Y08, Y23, Y21.  3M ½” Foam Tape was added to the back for dimension.  The wonky rectangle with the focal image was adhered to the top of an A2 top folding cardbase made from Gina K. Designs 120# White Cardstock and the card was done.

Balloon Bouquet Birthday

I found a 12 x 12 paper pack at Michael’s called Momenta Cardstock Carton that had great watercolor looking paper.  This blue paper was perfect for sky and so I decided to use it for the background for a digital balloon stamp.  A rectangle was cut from the paper using a Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangle. Darice Sticky Back Foam was cut 1/8” smaller and adhered to the back and then the watercolor paper was adhered to a top folding A2 cardbase made from Gina K. Designs 120# White Cardstock.

I printed the image on Neena Classic Crest 80# Solar White Cardstock using an HP Laser Printer and cut out an outline around the image with the PIXScan Mat and the Silhouette Cameo.

I decided to color the image with rainbow colored Copic Markers: R29, R27, R17; R85, R83; B04, B02, B01; B95, B93, B91; V25, V22, V20; YG03, YG01, YG61; YR00, Y23, Y21, Y11; G000, G00.  The image was traced on a scrap of Darice Sticky Back Foam, fussy cut, and adhered to the back of the image and then adhered to the card front with Tombo Mono Multi Glue.

The sentiment is from Paper Smooches Scripty Sayings and was stamped with Distress Oxide Salty Ocean at the bottom of the card front.  A very clean and simple card.

Daisy Background Birthday Card

When I printed this Pinterest digital image on Neena Classic Crest Cardstock  the resolution was very good, but I decided to see what I could do with it to make it look okay.

One thing I decided to do was the color the background a light blue, this helped even out the pixilation.

Next I decided to color the flowers in a rainbow of different Copic Marker colors (YR12, YR14, YR16, YR68, R17; YR38, YR15, YR18; Y17, Y08, Y02; Y08, Y02, Y11; RV06, RV04, RV02; R14, RV13, RV11; R20, R22, R20; R08, R05, R02; R39, E37, R27; YG67, YG17, YG03; BG000, BG0000).

Next I cut down the image so it was smaller using a Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangle Die.

A black rectangle 1/8” larger than the die cut image was adhered to the back of the focal image with Kokuyo Dotliner Adhesive.

The last thing was to have a sentiment that took a little more real-estate on the card.  I used a sentiment from My Favorite Things Celebrate You, Stamped it on Gina K. Designs 120# Black Cardstock with VersaMark Ink and heat embossed it with Ranger Fine Detail Gold Embossing Powder.  Adding dimension to the sentiment by adding 3M ½” Foam Tape to the back.

Everything was adhered to a top folding A2 cardbase made from Gina K. Designs 120# White Cardstock.

California Poppy Happy Birthday I and II

When I found these digital poppy corners I wasn’t sure if I was going to use both or one on a card.  As you can see I decided to use only one and made two separate cards.  The different colored matting gives a different feel to each of the cards.

There are many different colors for poppies, but my favorite is the orange red, with the deep black center.  That is how I colored these poppies with Copic Markers: YG97, YG95, YG93; YR18, YR16, YR12.  I printed them with my HP Laser Printer on Neena Classic Crest 80# Solar White Cardstock and then cut out the outline using the PIXScan Mat and the Silhouette Cameo.

The poppy flowers were laid on some Darice Sticky Back Foam and traced, fussy cut, and adhered to the back of the image for dimension.  A rectangle of the Classic Crest Cardstock was cut using a Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangle and the flowers were placed in the corner to determine where to stamp the sentiment.  I wanted to use large sentiments for the cards so I used “happy birthday” from Mama Elephant Birthday Wishes for one, and “happy birthday to you” from My Favorite Things Handwritten Happiness.  Both were stamped with Hero Hues India Ink Black using the MISTI.

Black and orange rectangles were added to the back of the focal images that 1/8” larger than the stitched rectangle.  The two were adhered together using Kokuyo Dotliner Adhesive.  Each panel was adhered to a top folding A2 Cardbase made from Gina K. Designs 120# White Cardstock using Tombo Mono Multi Glue and the flower focal image was adhered to the front using the same glue.

A Sakura White Gel Pen was added to the center of one of the flower arrangement and the card was done.

Flower Bouquet Make a Wish Birthday Card

This is another digital stamp from Pinterest (Pin #473229873336006274) that I printed with my HP Laser Printer onto Neena Classic Crest 80# Solar White Cardstock and colored with Copic Markers: R39, R37, R85; BG34, BG32; Y38, Y23, Y08; V25, V22; YG67, YG17, YG03; YG61, YG03; YG97, YG95; BG49, BG15, BG13; BG0000.

I really didn’t like the look of the image, but I decided to try it with a dry embossed paisley background using some hot pink cardstock from Momenta Cardstock Carton 12 x 12 Paper Pad and the Cuttlebug Perfectly Paisley Embossing Folder.

I die cut a rectangle using rectangle from Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangles.  The sentiment from Mama Elephant Make a Wish was stamped prior to dry embossing with Hero Hues India Ink Black.  The image was traced onto some Darice Sticky Back Foam, fussy cut, and adhered to the back, then the image was glued a little to the right of the rectangle with Tombo Mono Multi Glue.  The rectangle was then adhered to a top folding A2 cardbase made from Gina K. Designs 120# White Cardstock,

I liked the way it turned out.  Sometimes all you need to pull a design together is to have the right background.

Poppy Celebration Birthday Card

This is a digital stamp that I found on Pinterest Pin #484529609874984134.  Poppies are such beautiful flowers and I love the contrast from red and green.  I have an aunt who turns 101 this November and I felt like the sentiment from Mama Elephant’s Make a Wish would make the perfect card for her.  She is amazing and should be celebrated every day.

I printed the focal image on Neena Classic Crest 80# Solar White Cardstock and then traced and cut the image with the PIXScan Mat and the Silhouette Cameo.  It was colored with Copic Markers: R27, R24, R22; YG67, YG17, YG03; YR23, YR21.  The same white cardstock was used to die cut a rectangle a Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangle and then run through the Big Shot again with the Cuttlebug Oxford Embossing Folder.

The sentiment was stamped on a scrap of white cardstock with VersaMark Ink and heat embossed with Ranger Fine Detail Gold Embossing Powder.  A scrap of green cardstock and 3M ½” Foam Tape was added to the back to make it pop from the page.

Darice Sticky Back Foam was added to the dry embossed rectangle and then adhered to a top folding A2 cardbase made from Gina K. Designs 120# White Cardstock with Tombo Mono Multi Glue.  The focal image was adhered to the front with the same glue and the backing paper was removed from the sentiment and adhered over the lower third of the focal image and the card was done.

Vellum Greetings Birthday Card

I have a friend who is just starting out with cardmaking and so she is using digital stamps that she finds on Pinterest.  She has found some lovely images and so I went searching and found digital stamp pin 51087777001816094.  I printed it onto Neena Classic Crest 80# Solor White Cardstock with my HP Laser Printer.  I then die cut the image using the PIXScan Mat and the Silhouette Cameo, which is so much easier than fussy cutting the image.

The image is quite wide and so I decided to use a side fold A2 cardbase made from Gina K. Designs 120# White Cardstock.  I wanted to give some dimension and interest to the card and so I die cut a rectangle of Neena Classic Crest 80# Solar White Cardstock with a Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangle and then ran it through the Big Shot with the Cuttlebug Oxford Embossing Folder.  Darice Sticky Back Fun Foam was added to the back for added dimension.  3M ½” Foam Tape was added to the back of the focal image and it was adhered to the dry embossed rectangle/

I decided to add the sentiment from Paper Smooches Scripty Sayings by stamping it on a strip of Vellum with VersaMark Ink and heat embossing it with Ranger Fine Detail Gold Embossing Powder.  I cut it to be 1” tall and wrapped it around the focal image, adhering it to the back of the panel with Scotch Tape, it was then adhered to the cardbase with Tombo Mono Multi Glue and the card was done.

Spring Cupcake Birthday Card

For this card I printed the coloring image Spring Cupcake on Neena Classic Crest 80# Solar White Cardstock.  It was then placed on the Silhouette PixScan Mat and cut with the Silhouette Cameo.

The image was colored with Copic Markers: R85, R83, R81; YG17, YG05, YG03; Y17, Y08; E49, E29, E27

A coordinating rectangle of pink patterned paper from Doodlebug’s Kraft in Color Paper Pad was die cut with the My Favorite Things Wonky Rectangle.  It was adhered to a top folding A2 cardbase made from Gina K. Designs 120# White Cardstock with the Kokuyo Dotliner Adhesive.

The word “celebrate” die is from Sizzix Celebrate die set three time from Neena Classic Crest 80# Solar White Cardstock.  They were glue together using a Sakura Quickie Glue Pen.  The cupcake and die cut word were placed on the patterned paper to determine where to stamp the secondary sentiment from Winnie & Walter The Big, the Bold, and Happy with Memento London Fog Ink.

Rather than using 3M Foam Tape I decided to try tracing the image on Darice Sticky Back Foam and fussy cutting it smaller than the outline and adhered it to the back of the image for added dimension.  It worked great and I really liked the way it was one solid image of foam.

The die cut word and cupcake were adhered to the card front with Ranger Multi Medium Matte.
