Orange Dahlia Thinking of You

I loved the bright colors I used in the last card I created and decided to color this image with a bright orange and like the way it turned out. I colored it with Copic Markers and then fussy cut the image out.

The image did not have leaves and I used the leaves from Altenew’s Beautiful Heart and colored them with more olive green colors. I felt that it would go best with the orange of the flower. Liquid glue was used to adhered the leaves to the flower.

A rectangle was cut using a Penny Black Swirly stitched Rectangle. It adds great visual interest to a clean and simple card design.

The flower image was traced on a foam sheet and fussy cut 1/8″ smaller and adhered to the back of the flower image and adhered with liquid glue and then added to the card front.

Spring Bouquet Thinking of You

This is the second time I’ve used this image, but this time I used Copic Markers to color it and I really like the bright colors selected.

It was printed on Neena Classic Crest 80# Solar White Cardstock with laser jet printer, which ensures the lines of the image will not bleed when coloring. I decided to use a light blue for the background, it really makes the image pop.

The sentiment is from the Avery Elle Petals and Stems and was stamped at the bottom of the image with Gina K. Designs Amalgam Ink. I used a My Favorite Things A2 Stitched Rectangle and then a mat of black cardstock was added to the back.

Darice Foam Sheet was cut to 1/8″ smaller than the rectangle and then it was adhered to the front of a top folding A2 cardbase and the card was done.

Pink Magnolia Thinking of You

This is an image from Pinterest that a friend of mine found and made a beautiful card with. She sent me the image so that I could use it too.

I printed the image with a laser jet printer onto Strathmore Bristol Smooth Cardstock and colored it using a light and dark pink marker. Once the image was dry I used the Silhouette PIXScan Mat to cut around the image.

They were then cut using the matching die. They were glued behind the flower using liquid glue. To add dimension I traced around the image onto some Darice foam with a pencil and fussy cut it about 1/8″ smaller and adhered it to the back of the image with liquid glue.

For visual interest I die cut another rectangle using a Memory Box Matinee Rectangle and adhered it to the front of a side folding A2 cardbase with dotliner adhesive.

I placed the image on the card front to determine where to stamp the sentiment from Simon Says Stamp Beautiful Day with Gina K. Designs Amalgam Ink. The focal image was adhered on an angle in the upper left corner of the card front.

Watercolored Large Pink Flower Thinking of You

We are living in unprecedented times and there is many things that cause uncertainty and worry. Social distancing is also hard. It can leave us feeling isolated and alone. I wanted to send my neighbors a Thinking of You card and let them know we are here for them if they should need any assistance in getting their groceries or medicines.

This card is a Pinterest image that I printed with my laser printer on Strathmore Bristol Smooth Cardstock and watercolored with ZIG Clean Color Real Brush Markers.

I die cut the image using the largest Ellen Hutson Essential Rectangle Die and then another rectangle from black cardstock. This creates a love then border of black around the image. Both were adhered to a top folding A2 cardbase made from Gina K. Designs 120# White Cardstock.

The sentiment is from Simon Says stamp Sketched Flowers and was stamped with Gina K. Designs Amalgam Ink. The final embellishment was to add Pentel Metallic Gold Gel Pen to the center of the flower.

When the card was done and I was getting ready to send it I felt it was a little flat. So I pulled out my Faber-Castelle Polychromos pencils to add shading. Not sure if I like it better. Let me know what you think.
