Tired Out Get Well Wishes

This sixth set of get well cards for Senior Life Resources Northwest uses Sparkle N Sprinkle’s Henry. I love this image, it’s just how I feel some days. Getting old makes me feel like I need an overhaul at times, and then adding being sick would make me feel just like this cute image.

I stamped the image and sentiment on to a quarter sheet of Neenah Classic Crest 80# Solar White Cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and then colored it with Copic Markers. Once the coloring was complete I cut down the panel with a stitched rectangle and added sticky back foam to the back for dimension.

I found this great red tartan plaid cardstock that went perfectly with the coloring of the car. It was cut with a guillotine trimmer to cover the entire card front and adhered with dotliner adhesive. The focal image and sentiment panel was adhered to the card front with liquid glue.

Blue and Green Birthday Balloon Bunch

I used this stamp from Sparkle N Sprinkle all the time. When my crafty friend saw the card she tried to go and buy it, but they have gone out of business. So sad, I really liked their images.

I stamped it with a VersaMark ink onto Bristol Smooth Cardstock and heat embossed it gold. It was then colored it using ZIG Clean Color Real Brush Markers.

The sentiment “celebrate” is part of the stamp set, but I wanted to add “you” so I looked through my stamps until I found one that was the right size and stamped it under the exclamation point.

I cut down the image using a stitched rectangle and added some blue cardstock I had in scraps to the back with liquid glue. Sticky Back Foam was added to the panel to add dimension.

I wanted to add some visual interest behind the balloon rectangle so I pulled out the Cuttlebug Polka Dot Embossing Folder and embossed the front of the cardbase. The focal image was adhered in place with liquid glue.

Happy Birthday to You Paige

I love this image from Unity Stamps. I wanted to stamp it with an ink that would give a no line look, especially with the images hair and so I used Memento Toffee Ink and colored the image in various blue/green colors since the recipients favorite color is turquoise.

I added Ranger Gold Stickles to the polka dots on the balloon, as well as the lines on the other balloon and the confetti. A drop of gold was added to the center of the flowers in the bouquet.

I decided to use the largest oval from Lawn Fawn’s Stitched Stackable Ovals. I added foam behind the oval to add dimension to the focal image. I also embossed the rectangle of turquoise cardstock using the Darice Hearts Diagonal embossing folder.

Birthday Balloon Wishes

I recently purchased the Sparkle ‘n Sprinkle New Balloon Bunch.  I love simple birthday images that can be used for masculine birthday cards.  I find them the most challenging to create.  For this card I decided to watercolor the image with ZIG Clean Color Real Brush Markers in a rainbow hue.

This is a digital image and so it was printed on Strathmore Bristol Smooth Cardstock with a laser printer and then colored with 020 Red, 052 Bright Yellow, 043 Olive Green, 031 Cobalt Blue, 032 Persian Blue, 084 Deep Violet, 080 Violet.

The sentiment is from the Ranger Letter It Birthday stamp set.  It was stamped with VersaFine Onyx Black Ink and heat embossed with Hero Arts Ultra Fine Clear Embossing Powder.

I cut the image down with a My Favorite Things A2 Stitched Rectangle die, matted it with a rectangle of turquoise cardstock I had in my stash.  Darice Sticky Back Foam was added to the back and the panel was adhered to a top folding A2 cardbase made from Gina K. Designs 120# White Cardstock with Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive and the ward was done.

Watercolored Mother’s Day Card 2

I was asked to help the 12 and 13 year-old girls in my church make cards for the mothers.  I decided to use a watercolor medium.  I printed this image from Sparkle ‘n Sprinkle called Beautiful Magnolia on Canson XL 140# Cold Press Watercolor Paper  I created several card as example so they could make a selection on what they wanted to use for their mothers.  This is the second example card.

Since this was not an embossed image it was necessary to talk with the girls about the importance of not working on petals of the flower right next to one another.  It was colored with ZIG Clean Color Real Brush Markers026 Light Pink, 045 Pale Green, 048 Emerald Green.  The color on the flowers was added to the base of a petal and then spread through with a watercolor brush.  For the leaves the darker color was added to the veins and base and then the lighter color was used to meet that color and spread it throughout the leaf.  Once the image was colored and dry it was run through the Big Shot with a Gina Marie Designs Loopy Rectangle Die, which add a beautiful border to the image.  Darice Sticky Back Foam was added to the back for dimension when adhering to the front of a side folding A2 cardbase made from some pink cardstock I had in my stash.

The sentiment is a combination of stamping and die cutting. The stamped sentiment from Gina K. Designs Stitched Leaves was stamped on Gina K. Designs Base Weight Onyx Black Cardstock with VersaMark Ink and heat embossed with Gina K. Designs Detail White Embossing Powder using Marvy Embossing Tool. It was cut into a then strip and 3M 1/2″ Foam Tape. One of the Mom words from SugarPea Designs Mom Words Die Set was cut from Tonic Gold Pearl Mirror Satin Cardstock and adhered to the lower right of the card and the sentiment was adhered above.

Pretty Pink Posh Metallic Gold Sequins were scattered on the front, adhered with Ranger Multi Medium Matte and the card was done.
