Birthday Balloon Wishes

I recently purchased the Sparkle ‘n Sprinkle New Balloon Bunch.  I love simple birthday images that can be used for masculine birthday cards.  I find them the most challenging to create.  For this card I decided to watercolor the image with ZIG Clean Color Real Brush Markers in a rainbow hue.

This is a digital image and so it was printed on Strathmore Bristol Smooth Cardstock with a laser printer and then colored with 020 Red, 052 Bright Yellow, 043 Olive Green, 031 Cobalt Blue, 032 Persian Blue, 084 Deep Violet, 080 Violet.

The sentiment is from the Ranger Letter It Birthday stamp set.  It was stamped with VersaFine Onyx Black Ink and heat embossed with Hero Arts Ultra Fine Clear Embossing Powder.

I cut the image down with a My Favorite Things A2 Stitched Rectangle die, matted it with a rectangle of turquoise cardstock I had in my stash.  Darice Sticky Back Foam was added to the back and the panel was adhered to a top folding A2 cardbase made from Gina K. Designs 120# White Cardstock with Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive and the ward was done.

Watercolored Mother’s Day Card 2

I was asked to help the 12 and 13 year-old girls in my church make cards for the mothers.  I decided to use a watercolor medium.  I printed this image from Sparkle ‘n Sprinkle called Beautiful Magnolia on Canson XL 140# Cold Press Watercolor Paper  I created several card as example so they could make a selection on what they wanted to use for their mothers.  This is the second example card.

Since this was not an embossed image it was necessary to talk with the girls about the importance of not working on petals of the flower right next to one another.  It was colored with ZIG Clean Color Real Brush Markers026 Light Pink, 045 Pale Green, 048 Emerald Green.  The color on the flowers was added to the base of a petal and then spread through with a watercolor brush.  For the leaves the darker color was added to the veins and base and then the lighter color was used to meet that color and spread it throughout the leaf.  Once the image was colored and dry it was run through the Big Shot with a Gina Marie Designs Loopy Rectangle Die, which add a beautiful border to the image.  Darice Sticky Back Foam was added to the back for dimension when adhering to the front of a side folding A2 cardbase made from some pink cardstock I had in my stash.

The sentiment is a combination of stamping and die cutting. The stamped sentiment from Gina K. Designs Stitched Leaves was stamped on Gina K. Designs Base Weight Onyx Black Cardstock with VersaMark Ink and heat embossed with Gina K. Designs Detail White Embossing Powder using Marvy Embossing Tool. It was cut into a then strip and 3M 1/2″ Foam Tape. One of the Mom words from SugarPea Designs Mom Words Die Set was cut from Tonic Gold Pearl Mirror Satin Cardstock and adhered to the lower right of the card and the sentiment was adhered above.

Pretty Pink Posh Metallic Gold Sequins were scattered on the front, adhered with Ranger Multi Medium Matte and the card was done.

A Little Birdie Told Me Birthday Card

When I saw this cute bird image from Sparkle ‘n Sprinkle I knew it would make a cute card.  Love the way it turned out.

This is a digital stamp so I printed it using my Brother Laser Printer on Neena Classic Crest 80# Solar White Cardstock and colored it with Copic Markers (listed below).  Once the coloring was done I used my PIXScan Mat and cut around the image with the Silhouette Cameo.  I cut a rectangle from the same white cardstock and raided my scraps of colored cardstock to find the perfect blue that would compliment the bird and cut it 1/8″ larger than the stitched rectangle.  Both were adhered together using Kokuyo Dotliner Adhesive. A side folding A2 cardbase was made from Gina K. Designs 120# White Cardstock and the rectangle was adhered to the font with Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive.

I placed the bird image on the rectangle to determine where to stamp the sentiment from Avery Elle’s Tweet Tweet with Hero Hues India Ink Black.  I traced around the image on some Darice Sticky Back Foam and added to the back of the focal image for added dimension and was adhered to the matted rectangle with Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive.  A little shine was added to the dots on the hat scarf and the center of the flowers with Star Dust Stickles and the card was done.
