Beautiful Flowers 2 Birthday Wishes

This is the first card I made for the Online Card Class Color Theory.  For the first day we learned about Primary Colors and how to use them.  I had recently purchased Simon Says Stamp Beautiful Flowers 2 and used this stamp set to create my first card for the class.  I love the way that red and yellow compliment each other.

I stamped the images on Neena Classic Crest 80# Solar White Cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and colored them with Copic Markers (colors are listed below).  The matching dies for these images cut really close to the edge and leave a small white border, which I really like.  I arranged the flowers into a bunch and glued them together with Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive.  To add dimension 3M 1/2″ Foam Tape was added to the back of the flowers.

I like the visual interest that is added to a card using an embossing folder.  I die cut a rectangle of Neena Classic Crest 80# Solar White using a My Favorite Things A2 Stitched Rectangle and then ran it through the Big Shot with the Cricut Cuttlebug Mosaic folder.  The panel was adhered directly to a top folding A2 cardbase made from Gina K. Designs Base Weight Onyx Black Cardstock.  The backing was removed from the foam tape of the bouquet of flowers and they were adhered to the directly to the card front.

The sentiment is from Studio Katia’s Blooming Bunch stamp set.  It was stamped with VersaMark Ink onto a scrap of black cardstock and heat embossed with Gina K. Designs Detail White Embossing Powder.  The sentiment was cut into an angled banner and foam tape was added to the back and adhered to the card front and the card was done.

Winter Birthday Wishes

This cute image from La-La Land Crafts Autumn Marci is great for an autumn or winter birthday card with is jacket, scarf, and gloves.  Paige’s favorite color is blue and I added accents of pink.  I really like the color combination.

I have the digital image, so I can make it just the size I want. I printed the image with my laser printer onto Neena Classic Crest 80# Solar White Cardstock and then colored it with Copic Markers (listed below). Once I was done coloring, I then scanned and imported it into the Silhouette Cameo to cut around the image, much faster than fussy cutting.

I cut a rectangle from the same white cardstock using a My Favorite Things Stitched Rectangle STAX and then ran it through the Big Shot with the Cuttlebug Polka Dot Embossing Folder and adhered the focal image using 3M 1/2″ Foam Tape.

An A2 top folding cardbase was made from Gina K. Designs 120# White Cardstock. To make the focal image pop on the white cardbase, I looked through my scraps of paper and found this matching blue paper, which was cut 1/8″ larger than the embossed rectangle and adhered using Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive.

The sentiment is from Studio Katia’s Blooming Bunch and was stamped on Vellum with VersaMark Ink and heat embossed with Ranger Fine Detail Gold Embossing Powder then wrapped around the focal image panel and adhered to the back with Scotch Tape. Darice Sticky Back Foam was added to the back of the panel and then adhered to the cardbase with Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive.

Studio Katia Merry Poinsettia with Simon Says Stamp Merry Christmas Card

A large, beautiful sentiment and a die cut flower can be the showcase of your Christmas Card.

A rectangle of Neena Classic Crest 80# Solar White Cardstock was cut using a guillotine cutter and the large Simon Says Stamp Merry Christmas was stamped with VersaMark Ink in the center and heat embossing with Ranger Fine Detail Gold Embossing Powder.  To draw the eye to the sentiment a frame was cut front Gina K. Designs Read Velvet 120# Cardstock with Pretty Pink Posh’s Scalloped Rectangle.  3M 1/2″ Foam Tape was cut in half and adhered to the back of the frame and then the sentiment was adhered to the back using the foam tape.

The single poinsettia from Studio Katia’s Merry Poinsettia was stamped on the same red cardstock with VersaMark Ink and heat embossed with gold embossing powder and then die cut with the matching die.  To add dimension it was stamped a second time and the center was fussy cut and adhered to the top of the full flower with 3M 1/2″ Foam Tape.  The leaves from the stamp set were stamped on green cardstock from my stash and die cut with the matching dies.  They were glued to the corner of the scalloped sentiment frame with Tombo Mono Multi Glue and 3M 1/2″ Foam Tape under the portion of the flower that overlapped the frame.  For a little added dimension to the flower, Copic Marker R59 was added to the center of the flower.

When I went to place the rectangle on a white cardbase I felt that it was pretty, but it just didn’t make the flower and sentiment pop, so green cardstock was cut 1/8″ larger than the scalloped rectangle.  I like that much better, but I decided to add another layer of white and cut another rectangle 1/8″ larger than the green rectangle.  Both were adhered together with Kokuyo Dotliner Adhesive and the scalloped sentiment was adhered to the top with Tombo Mono Multi Glue.  All were adhered to a side folding A2 cardbase made from the same red cardstock with the multi glue and the card was done.

Studio Katia Christmas Card

I have a new friend from church who wanted to learn how to make handmade Christmas cards and so I designed a few that would be fairly easy to create.  The Studio Katia Poinsettia is a beautiful stamp set and makes a lovely and easy Christmas card.  What could be better than that.

The images were stamped with VersaMark Ink on colored paper, covered in gold embossing powder, heat set, and die cut with the matching

A scalloped rectangle was cut using Winnie & Walter’s Audrey Essentials and was adhered to a green cardbase using Kokuyo Dotliner Adhesive.  The poinsettias were placed on this scalloped rectangle to determine placement of the die cut sentiment from the same stamp and die set and the secondary stamped sentiment which was stamped with with VersaMark Ink and heat embossed with the same embossing powder.
