When I saw this image from My Favorite Things I wondered what it would look like with a vintage car in the background. I like the way it turned out.
I stamped the car and sentiment onto a quarter sheet of Neenah Classic Crest 80# Solar White Cardstock. On a separate scrap of paper the gentleman was stamp, both with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink so they could be colored with Copic Markers.
Once the coloring was complete the car panel was cut down with a stitched rectangle. The guy was cut using the coordinating die. Foam tape was added to the back and he was placed to the rear of the car.
Since the car is red and the guy’s sweater is red I used a white gel pen to add some argyle lines so the two don’t blend too much into one another. Polka dots were also added to his bow tie.
A dark gray cardstock was used to create the card base and the focal image panel was adhered with dotliner adhesive. Glossy accents were added to the area of the car where the glass would be.
If you want to have a one layer card you would stamp the gentleman, mask him, and then stamp the car.
My youngest daughter is a Pediatric Intensive Care doctor in San Antonio, Texas. Thankfully, kids have been pretty spared for this horrible Covid-19 disease, but they still go into a hospital every day, exposing themselves to the germs that are part of a hospital environment. The hardest hit departments at the greatest risk are the Emergency and the Adult Intensive Card Departments. I saw this great digital stamp from Unity on the Splitcoast Stampers web site and decided to create some cards that I could send to location hospitals, particularly the departments at the greatest risk. All in all I made nine card, one of which I will sent to Janae for her to take to the pediatric intensive care medical personnel she works with. All of the women doctors in the cards has blond hair and blue eyes, because that it what my Janae has.
I wanted a collage of some of the images from Unity Stamps, so I selected three and arranged them to fit on an A2 landscape card front. The card Janae liked the best is the feature image, but I’ve also included a few of the other cards. Each has different colors used. All were colored with Copic Markers.
The first and last cards have the front of the cardbase embossed with a heart embossing folder. The rest I stamped right over the image with My Favorite Things Mini Heart Background using Simon Says Stamp Fog Ink, which is very light and mostly hidden by the Copic coloring.
All the focal image rectangles were cut down to approximate 5 x 3 3/4″. Darice Sticky Back Foam was added for dimension.
My wonderful Uncle Delos just turned ninety-one. He is an amazing man and I’m blessed to have him in my life. I decided to pull out this plane image from Unity Stamps’ For the Guys because the sentiment was perfect. I ink blended some clouds using My Favorite Things Mini Cloud Edges Stencil and frame it using a couple of stitched rectangles.
