Happy Birthday Sweet Blossom

This is another card I colored while on the go.  It was made for a young lady whose favorite color is blue.  The cute image is from Whimsy Stamps Sweet Blossom.  The patterned paper from Recollections Bright and Basic 12 x 12 Paper Pack was used to accent the focal image and made it really pop.

The focal image was stamped on Canson LX 140# Watercolor Paper with VersaFine Black Ink and then heat embossed using Hero Arts Ultra Fine Detail Clear Embossing Powder.  Embossing the image makes it really easy to watercolor.  Tombo Dual Brush Markers were used to color the image using a Sakura Watercolor Brush.  The colors used were: 020 Peach, 942 Tan, 992 Sand, 969 Chocolate, 528 Navy, 533 Peacock Blue, 452 Process Blue, 277 Dark Green.

Once I was home the focal image was die cut using the Big Shot and the second largest Lawn Fawn Large Stitched Stackable Rectangles.  The blue patterned paper was die cut using Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangled and adhered to the front of an A2 top folding cardbase made from Gina K. Designs 120# White Cardstock with Elmer’s Dot Runner Adhesive.  Darice Sticky Back Foam was cut 1/8” smaller than the focal image and adhered to the back.  It was adhered to the cardbase using Tombo Mono Multi Glue.

The sentiment is from Gina K. Designs Birthday Greetings and was stamped with VersaFine Black Ink and heat embossed with the same Hero Arts clear embossing powder and the card was done.

HAVE A SPECIAL BIRTHDAY

This cute image from La-La Land Crafts Sweetheart was stamped with VersaFine Black Ink on Canson XL 140# Watercolor Paper and embossed with Hero Arts Ultra Fine Clear Embossing Powder.  I’ve heard Jennifer McGuire talking about stamping images before hand and coloring them while on the go and decided to give it a try.  I took my Tombo Dual Brush Markers, along with a Sukura Watercolor Pen, with me while I waited to have my car services.  It was amazing how much I was able to get done.

The reciepient of this card had long blond hair and her favorite color is mint green, so the colors used were as follows: 245 Sap Green, 885 Warm Red, N567 Warm Grey 5, 025 Light Orange, 026 Golden Yellow, 020 Peach, 942 Tan.

Once I was home I die cut the image using second largest Lawn Fawn Large Stitched Stackable Rectangles and then added some Darice Sticky Back Foam to the back to add dimension.  A rectangle of mint green polka dot paper from My Mind’s Eye Happy Day 6×6 Paper Pad was die cut using Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangled and adhered to a top folding A2 cardbase made from Gina K. Designs 120# White Cardstock with Elmer’s Dot Runner Adhesive.  The focal image panel was then adhered using Tombo Mono Multi Glue.

The sentiment is from Whimsy Stamps Party Mini Letter Seals and was stamped with VersaFine Black Ink and heat embossed with Hero Arts Ultra FiClne ear Embossing Powder.  Sizzix Stephanie Barnard Word Labels was used to die cut the sentiment.  The edges were ink blended using an ink dauber and Distress Pistascio ink.  3M ½” Foam Tape was added to the back to add dimension and adhered to the bottom right of the focal image and the card was done.

Hello Sweet Baby Card

We have friends who recently had their ninth child.  I am amazed at the wonderful parents they are and their little girl Brinley is lucky to have been born into such an loving family.  I found the cutest little dress in a pale green and thought I would use that color to create this card, along with baby girl pink.

I began by stamping the cute baby image from Whimsy Stamps Wee One on Gina K. Designs 80# White Cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink.  It was then colored with Copic Markers: E50, E51, E53, R20 (Skin); RV10, RV11, RV13, RV14, G20, G21, G24 (Buggy); C5, C4, C3 (Wheels); Y02, Y06, Y08 (Bird); YR21, YR23, YR24 (Horse); C1, C2 (Ground); BG000, BG0000 (Background)

Once the coloring was complete the focal image was die cut with a Spellbinders Square Die.  Darice Sticky Back Fun Foam was then cut just smaller than the square and adhered to the back.  A rectangle was cut from the Gina K. Designs 80# White Cardstock using the largest Lawn Fawn Small Stitched Stackable Rectangles.

For the sentiment the word “baby” was cut four times from green cardstock using the Simon Says Stamp Baby stamp and die set and then adhered together with Ranger Multi Medium Matte.  The focal image was placed on the rectangle, along with the die cut word, to determine where to stamp the secondary sentiment, which is from the same Simon Says Stamp set.  Hero Arts Bubble Gum ink was used to stamp “hello sweet” and then the “baby” die cut was adhered using Ranger Multi Medium Matte.  The focal image was adhered to the white rectangle with Tombo Mono Multi Glue.  Green organza 5/16” ribbon from Berwick Offray was tied around the white rectangle and adhered in the back with scotch tape just below the focal image and then a small bow was tied and adhered with a glue dot.

A top folding A2 cardbase was made from Gina K. Designs 120# White Cardstock, however I felt like it needed an accent to highlight the pink in the baby carriage so I pulled out a scrap of pink cardstock and cut it with a paper trimmer to be 1/8″ larger than the white rectangle.  Both rectangles were adhered together using Tombo Glue Runner Dot Adhesive and then adhered to the cardbase with Tombo Mono Multi Glue and the card was done.

Sweet Blossom Happy Birthday Card

This card was prepared for a young woman at church name Lizzie, whose favorite color is Teal/Aqua and has lovely, long, blond hair.  I thought the Whimsy Stamps Sweet Blossom image would make a perfect birthday card.

The image was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink onto Gina K. Designs 80# White Cardstock and colored with Copic Markers: BG11, BG13, BG14; BG72, BG75, BG18; BG91, BG93, BG95; E25, E29; E31, E33, E34; E50, E53, E55, E35; E00, E11, E51, R20; G99, G46; BG000, BG0000.

Once the coloring was done the sentiment from Clearly Besotted Fancy Sayings was stamped below with Altenew Ocean Waves and Dusk inks.  The image was then cut with the second largest Lawn Fawn Stitched Stackable Rectangles.  Darice Sticky Backed Fun Foam was cut 1/8” smaller and added to the back.

A top folding A2 cardbase was made from Gina K. Designs 120# White Cardstock.  To accent the aqua color a rectangle of patterned paper from Perfect Prints Forever in Time 6” x 6” Paper Pack was cut with the Simon Says Stamp Bundle of Stitched Shapes.  A darker teal color cardstock was cut 1/8” larger and both rectangles were adhered together with Tombo Mono Multi Glue.  The focal image was then adhered to the cardbase.  Silver Stickles was added to the center of the flowers and the card was done.

Bring on the Happy Birthday Card

How can you not fall in love with the cute images from Whimsy Stamps. This card uses Wee Suzi and was made for Charlyn, whose favorite color is lavender.

The image was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink on Gina K. Designs 80# White Cardstock.  It was colored with Copic Markers (colors listed below) and then die cut with the Lawn Fawn Small Stitched Stackable Rectangles.  A rectangle 1/8″ larger was cut out of purple cardstock I had in my stash.  Both were adhered together using Tombo Mono Multi Glue and then Darice Sticky Back Fun Foam was adhered to the back of the panel.

The sentiment from Penny Black Sprinkles and Smiles was stamped below the focal image with Altenew Lavender Ink.  I wanted to highlight the lavender color so I pulled out Lawn Fawn’s Perfectly Plaid 6 x 6 Petite Paper Pack and die cut a rectangle of the diagonal lavender plaid cardstock with the rectangle from Simon Says Stamp Bundle of Stitched Shapes. Purple cardstock 1/8″ larger was adhered to the back of the plaid paper and then it was adhered to a top folding cardbase made from Gina K. Designs 120# White Cardstock with Tombo Mono Multi Glue. The same glue was added to the fun foam on the back of the focal image and then it was adhered to the plaid card front with Tombo Mono Multi Glue, and the card was done.

CTD433: C.C. Designs Cupcake Brigitta Time to Celebrate

Who wouldn’t like a mound of cupcakes for their birthday.  This card was made for a young woman whose favorites colors are blue and green.  I think the card turned out cute and I really like the flowered cardstock background.

The outline for the image from C.C. Designs Cupcake Brigitta was cut with the Silhouette Cameo from Gina K. Designs 80# White Cardstock, then the image was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and colored with Copic Markers.  Colors used are listed below.

The green and white flowered paper was pulled from my stash.  I’ve had it so long I have no idea the company that created it, but it is really cute with the color scheme we are using.  A rectangle of the paper was cut using Simon Says Stamp Bundle of Stitched Shapes Rectangle.  To add some blue a rectangle of blue cardstock was cut with my paper cutter to be 1/8″ larger and the two were adhered together using Tombo Stamp Dot Runner Adhesive.

To create a focal area for the stamped image Spellbinders Label #08 was cut from some Gina K. Designs 80# White Cardstock and then run through the Sizzix Big Shot again with the We R Memory Keepers Flower Embossing Folder.

The sentiment is from Whimsy Stamps Party Mini Letter Seals and then cut using one of the circles from Simon Says Stamp Bundle of Stitched Shapes.  An added embellishment was created by making a small Lime Green Polka Dot Gross Grain Ribbon, which was adhered to the sentiment circle with Glue Dot.

It was now time to assemble the card.  A top folding A2 Cardbase was made from Gina K. Designs 120# White Cardstock.  The patterned paper, blue background rectangle was adhered using Tombo Mono Multi Glue. 3M 1/2″ Foam Tape was added to the back of the focal image label and then adhered to the patterned paper.  The sentiment circle was adhered with more foam tape. Pretty Pink Posh Seattle Spirit Mix Sequins were scattered on the card front and the card was done.

Whimsy Stamps Cupcake Treat Trio Birthday

I was cleaning up my desk and found Whimsy Stamps Cupcake Treat Trio stamp and thought I would make a card for an upcoming birthday for a friend.  I knew that I wanted it to have pink and so I went to my stash of cardstock and found BoBunny DoubleDots Passion Fruit Cardstock and thought it would make a great background for the focal image.

I stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink on 80# Gina K. Designs White Cardstock.  I colored the image with the Copic Markers listed below, with the pink icing cupcake taking center stage, and who doesn’t like chocolate cupcakes.  After the coloring was complete I cut the focal image with the Spellbinders Wonky Rectangle using my Sizzix Big Shot.  Another rectangle was cut from Darice Adhesive Fun Foam and then trimmed to be slightly smaller so it wouldn’t show when adhered behind the focal image.

An A2 landscape cardbase was created from Gina K. Designs 120# White Cardstock.  A rectangle was cut from the pink patterned paper using Simon Says Stamp Bundle of Stitched Shapes Rectangle and was adhered to the front of the cardbase with Tombo Mono Multi Glue.  The focal image wonky rectangle was adhered by Tombo Mono Multi Glue on the back of the fun foam.

The sentiment is from Hero Arts Stamp and Cut Happy.  It was die cut from Paper Accents Gold Mirror cardstock and then again three additional times from scraps of white cardstock.  All were glued together using Elmer’s Craft Bond Spray Adhesive and then adhered to the focal image with Tombo Mono Multi Glue.  To add a little more sparkle Tiding Stickles was added to the confetti dots and the card was done.

Whimsy Stamps Cupcake Treat Trio Masculine Birthday

I like the Whimsy Stamps Cupcake Treat Trio stamp.  It makes a quick and easy card that, depending on the colors you use, can easily make a masculine birthday card.

To make this card masculine I used a green and cream striped paper from Keeping Memories Alive Meadow Green Ribbon Cardstock.  I cut a rectangle using the Simon Says Stamp Bundle of Stitched Shapes Rectangle and added a slightly smaller rectangle of Darice Adhesive Fun Foam, which was added to the back of the panel.  The rectangle was adhered to a side folding A2 Cardbase made from Gina K. Designs 120# White Cardstock with Tombo Mono Multi Glue.

I stamped the cupcake trio to a quarter sheet of Gina K. Designs 80# White Cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink.  The image was colored with Copic Markers, colors are listed below.  The sentiment is from Hero Arts Many Birthday Messages and was stamped with VersaMark Ink and heat embossed with Ranger Fine Detail Gold Embossing Powder.  For added interest to the focal image I wanted to die cut it with Spellbinders Wonky Rectangle, but it didn’t leave enough room at the bottom for the sentiment, so it was cut with Spellbinders Label 28.  The label was cut again with Darice Adhesive Fun Foam and then trimmed to just smaller than the original.  Once the foam was adhered to the focal image it was glued to the front of the card using Tombo Mono Multi Glue.  To add a little more gold to the card the flourishes were traced with Stickles Tidings and the card was done.

C.C. Designs Swiss Pixie Sunflower Lula Birthday Card

For young girls I think little people stamps make cute birthday cards.  I created birthday cards for the young women in our church who range in age from 12-18.  It was time to create some cards to have on hand for upcoming birthday. One of the girls favorite colors were orange and black. The image from C. C. Designs Swiss Pixie Sunflower Lula was great for creating a card with that color scheme.

I stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink, since I would be doing Copic Coloring, on Gina K. Designs 80# White Cardstock and ran it through my Silhouette Cameo with the PIXScan Mat to cut an outline around the image.  The Copic Markers used were: YR09, YR07, YR04; YR12, YR14, YR15; W7, W8, W9; YR09, Y19; W9, E49, E59; E49, E47, E55; E00, E00, E01.

In keeping with the color scheme I die cut a rectangle from Gina K. Designs 120# Black Cardstock with Simon Says Stamp Bundle of Stitched Frames.  I found some orange paper in my stash of cardstock that had faint yellow sunflowers and cut it to be just 1/8″ smaller than the die cut rectangle and adhered them together using the Scotch ATG Gun.  I pulled some black and white gingham ribbon from my stash and wrapped it around the background retangle, tying the bow on the left and placing it in the bottom third of the card.  Then the panel was adhered to a top folding A2 cardbase made from Gina K. Designs 120# White Cardstock with Tombo Mono Multi Glue, which gives you a few moment to move things around and center it perfectly on the cardbase.

I wanted the focal image to pop from the page so I die cut My Favorite Things Vertical Greetings Die from 80# White Cardstock and adhered it to the cardbase with 3M 1/2″ Foam Tape.  The focal image was then centered on the vertical greeting die cut and adhered with some more foam tape.

The sentiment is from is from Whimsy Stamps Party Mini Letter Seals.  It was stamped on 80# white cardstock and then run through the Big Shot with a Spellbinders circle die.  Foam tape was added to the back of the sentiment and it was tucked under the ribbon bow.  A little Ranger Multi Matte Medium was used to ensure it remained in place.

The final embellishment was to scatter some Doodlebug Beetle Black, Pretty Pink Posh Charcoal, Doodlebug Tangerine, Pretty Pink Posh Tangerine Sequins and the card was done.

Love Me Do Wedding Card

My nephew Brandon is getting married this weekend. He and his bride to be, Olivia, selected Navy Blue, Cream, and Taupe for their wedding colors. Whimsey Stamps has a cute image of a bride and groom.  I stamped the image with Memento Paris Dusk on Gina K. Designs Ivory cardstock and colored it with Copic markers.

Brandon & Olivia
Brandon & Olivia

I used the following Copic colors.

  • Suit and Flowers: B93, B95, B97, B99
  • Dress: W0, W1
  • Groom’s Hair: YR20, YR21, YR23, E35
  • Bride’s Hair: E50, E51, E53
  • Bouquet Leaves: G20, G82, G85
  • Skin: E000, E00, E11
  • Cheeks: R20

I created a plaid pattern on the vest for variation and to break up all the blue.  In the center of the flowers I squeezed a little platinum Stickles.  I sized the image using the second Lawn Fawn Large Stitched Stackable Rectangle and cut the taupe background with the largest Lawn Fawn Small Stitched Rectangle, but felt it was too large for the look I was going for, so I ran it through the Bigshot again, placing it so it was about 1/8″ smaller with an overall size of 4 3/4″ x 3 9/16″.  I added 3M 1/2 Foam Tape to the back of the image and the taupe background and adhered them to a Gina K. Design 120 lb. ivory card base.

The sentiment is from Winnie & Walter The Big, The Bold and You cutaways in Gina K. Designs 120 lb. Navy cardstock, layered three times with Zig 2 Way Glue Pen for depth and dimension and adhered it to the front of the card with Zig 2 Way Glue Pen and the card was done.
