I was cleaning up my desk and found Whimsy Stamps Cupcake Treat Trio stamp and thought I would make a card for an upcoming birthday for a friend. I knew that I wanted it to have pink and so I went to my stash of cardstock and found BoBunny DoubleDots Passion Fruit Cardstock and thought it would make a great background for the focal image.
I stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink on 80# Gina K. Designs White Cardstock. I colored the image with the Copic Markers listed below, with the pink icing cupcake taking center stage, and who doesn’t like chocolate cupcakes. After the coloring was complete I cut the focal image with the Spellbinders Wonky Rectangle using my Sizzix Big Shot. Another rectangle was cut from Darice Adhesive Fun Foam and then trimmed to be slightly smaller so it wouldn’t show when adhered behind the focal image.
An A2 landscape cardbase was created from Gina K. Designs 120# White Cardstock. A rectangle was cut from the pink patterned paper using Simon Says Stamp Bundle of Stitched Shapes Rectangle and was adhered to the front of the cardbase with Tombo Mono Multi Glue. The focal image wonky rectangle was adhered by Tombo Mono Multi Glue on the back of the fun foam.
The sentiment is from Hero Arts Stamp and Cut Happy. It was die cut from Paper Accents Gold Mirror cardstock and then again three additional times from scraps of white cardstock. All were glued together using Elmer’s Craft Bond Spray Adhesive and then adhered to the focal image with Tombo Mono Multi Glue. To add a little more sparkle Tiding Stickles was added to the confetti dots and the card was done.

I like the Whimsy Stamps Cupcake Treat Trio stamp. It makes a quick and easy card that, depending on the colors you use, can easily make a masculine birthday card.
To make this card masculine I used a green and cream striped paper from Keeping Memories Alive Meadow Green Ribbon Cardstock. I cut a rectangle using the Simon Says Stamp Bundle of Stitched Shapes Rectangle and added a slightly smaller rectangle of Darice Adhesive Fun Foam, which was added to the back of the panel. The rectangle was adhered to a side folding A2 Cardbase made from Gina K. Designs 120# White Cardstock with Tombo Mono Multi Glue.
I stamped the cupcake trio to a quarter sheet of Gina K. Designs 80# White Cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. The image was colored with Copic Markers, colors are listed below. The sentiment is from Hero Arts Many Birthday Messages and was stamped with VersaMark Ink and heat embossed with Ranger Fine Detail Gold Embossing Powder. For added interest to the focal image I wanted to die cut it with Spellbinders Wonky Rectangle, but it didn’t leave enough room at the bottom for the sentiment, so it was cut with Spellbinders Label 28. The label was cut again with Darice Adhesive Fun Foam and then trimmed to just smaller than the original. Once the foam was adhered to the focal image it was glued to the front of the card using Tombo Mono Multi Glue. To add a little more gold to the card the flourishes were traced with Stickles Tidings and the card was done.

For young girls I think little people stamps make cute birthday cards. I created birthday cards for the young women in our church who range in age from 12-18. It was time to create some cards to have on hand for upcoming birthday. One of the girls favorite colors were orange and black. The image from C. C. Designs Swiss Pixie Sunflower Lula was great for creating a card with that color scheme.
I stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink, since I would be doing Copic Coloring, on Gina K. Designs 80# White Cardstock and ran it through my Silhouette Cameo with the PIXScan Mat to cut an outline around the image. The Copic Markers used were: YR09, YR07, YR04; YR12, YR14, YR15; W7, W8, W9; YR09, Y19; W9, E49, E59; E49, E47, E55; E00, E00, E01.
In keeping with the color scheme I die cut a rectangle from Gina K. Designs 120# Black Cardstock with Simon Says Stamp Bundle of Stitched Frames. I found some orange paper in my stash of cardstock that had faint yellow sunflowers and cut it to be just 1/8″ smaller than the die cut rectangle and adhered them together using the Scotch ATG Gun. I pulled some black and white gingham ribbon from my stash and wrapped it around the background retangle, tying the bow on the left and placing it in the bottom third of the card. Then the panel was adhered to a top folding A2 cardbase made from Gina K. Designs 120# White Cardstock with Tombo Mono Multi Glue, which gives you a few moment to move things around and center it perfectly on the cardbase.
I wanted the focal image to pop from the page so I die cut My Favorite Things Vertical Greetings Die from 80# White Cardstock and adhered it to the cardbase with 3M 1/2″ Foam Tape. The focal image was then centered on the vertical greeting die cut and adhered with some more foam tape.
The sentiment is from is from Whimsy Stamps Party Mini Letter Seals. It was stamped on 80# white cardstock and then run through the Big Shot with a Spellbinders circle die. Foam tape was added to the back of the sentiment and it was tucked under the ribbon bow. A little Ranger Multi Matte Medium was used to ensure it remained in place.
The final embellishment was to scatter some Doodlebug Beetle Black, Pretty Pink Posh Charcoal, Doodlebug Tangerine, Pretty Pink Posh Tangerine Sequins and the card was done.
My nephew Brandon is getting married this weekend. He and his bride to be, Olivia, selected Navy Blue, Cream, and Taupe for their wedding colors. Whimsey Stamps has a cute image of a bride and groom. I stamped the image with Memento Paris Dusk on Gina K. Designs Ivory cardstock and colored it with Copic markers.
I used the following Copic colors.
Suit and Flowers: B93, B95, B97, B99
Dress: W0, W1
Groom’s Hair: YR20, YR21, YR23, E35
Bride’s Hair: E50, E51, E53
Bouquet Leaves: G20, G82, G85
Skin: E000, E00, E11
I created a plaid pattern on the vest for variation and to break up all the blue. In the center of the flowers I squeezed a little platinum Stickles. I sized the image using the second Lawn Fawn Large Stitched Stackable Rectangle and cut the taupe background with the largest Lawn Fawn Small Stitched Rectangle, but felt it was too large for the look I was going for, so I ran it through the Bigshot again, placing it so it was about 1/8″ smaller with an overall size of 4 3/4″ x 3 9/16″. I added 3M 1/2 Foam Tape to the back of the image and the taupe background and adhered them to a Gina K. Design 120 lb. ivory card base.
The sentiment is from Winnie & Walter The Big, The Bold and You cutaways in Gina K. Designs 120 lb. Navy cardstock, layered three times with Zig 2 Way Glue Pen for depth and dimension and adhered it to the front of the card with Zig 2 Way Glue Pen and the card was done.
