Party Balloons Masculine Birthday Card II

I love the combination of blue and green and decided to use this as the color combination for this masculine birthday card.

It is a clean and simple design that doesn’t take much time to create.  Scraps of green and blue glitter cardstock was pulled from my stash and die cut using My Favorite Things Party Balloons.  The strings for the balloons are from Lawn Fawn’s Party Balloons dies and were cut from Gina K. Designs 120# Black Cardstock. The strings were adhered to the back of the balloons with Scotch Tape.

The word “happy” was cut from the green glitter cardstock using WPlus9’s Happy Trio Die.

An A2 top folding cardbase was made from Gina K. Designs 120# White Cardstock.  A rectangle of Neena Classic Crest 80# Solar White Cardstock was die cut using a My Favorite Things Wonky Rectangle.  Darice Sticky Back Foam was cut 1/8″ smaller and adhered to the back and the rectangle was adhered to the cardbase with Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive.

The balloons were adhered to the focal image rectangle with Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive and the word die cut was adhered over the tails of the balloons with the same glue.  The secondary sentiment is from Winnie & Walter’s The Big, The Bold and Party stamp set, was stamped with Gina K. Designs Blue Denim Ink just below the word “happy” and this quick and easy card was done.

Happy Birthday Party Balloons Masculine Card

Inspiration for this card was the beautiful sugar coated confetti cardstock from Doodlebug.  I think it makes a great masculine birthday card.

Glitter cardstock matching the Doodlebug paper was found in my stash and then die cut using My Favorite things Party Balloons.  The strings for the balloons were die cut using Lawn Fawn’s Party Balloons and Gina K. Designs 120# Black Cardstock.

The sentiment is from CZ Designs Birthday Palooze die.  The problem I found after cutting the word was that the confetti easily peels off the front of the cardstock, so I decided to cover it with Ranger Glossy Accents to keep them in place and ensure that they would remain intact for the recipient of the card.  I really liked the look of the dimension added in this process.

Neena Classic Crest 80# Solar White Cardstock was cut using a My Favorite Things Wonky Rectangle.  Darice Sticky Back Foam was cut 1/8″ smaller and adhered to the back.  An A2 top folding cardbase was made from Gina K. Designs 120# Red Hot Cardstock and the white rectangle was adhered to the front using Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive.

The balloon strings were adhered to the back of each balloon with Scotch Tape.  The orange balloon was adhered directly to the rectangle with liquid glue.  The red and yellow balloon strings were adhered with liquid glue, but 3M 1/2″ foam tape was adhered to the back of the balloon.

The happy was cut three additional time from red cardstock and all word die cuts were adhered together with Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive.  Before adhered to the focal image the secondary sentiment from Winnie & Walter The Big, the Bold and Party was stamped with Altenew Crimson Ink.  The word die cut was then adhered with Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive and the card was done.

Garden Treasures Birthday Wishes

I recently purchased Altenew’s Garden Treasures.  I love the flowers in this stamp set and they make beautiful cards.

For this card the layered flowers were stamped with Altenew Inks (colors listed below) and then die cut with the matching dies, which makes card making so much easier.

A side folding A2 cardbase was made from Gina K. Designs 120# White Cardstock.  This is my favorite cardstock for cardbases.  A rectangle was cut from Neena Classic Crest 80# Solar White Cardstock using a My Favorite Things Wonky Rectangle and adhered directly to the cardbase with Be Creative Tape.  If I am not using foam behind a focal image I use the Be Creative Tape because it will not show as sometimes you can see the lines of liquid glue with a thinner cardstock.

The die cut flowers were arrange the way I liked them and then picked up with Glad Press ‘n Seal, which makes keeping them as arranged so easy to adhere to the focal image rectangle.  Before gluing the flowers in place the sentiment from Ranger’s Letter It Birthday and Winnie & Walter the Big, The Bold and Party were stamped with Hero Hues India Ink Black.

The leaves and smaller flowers were adhered to the focal image rectangle with Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive.  3M 1/2″ Foam Tape was added to the back of the pink and blue flowers and the card was done.

Happy Birthday Abagail

This card was made for a young woman at church whose favorite color is purple.  I found a beautiful plaid from the Doodlebug Polar Pals 6 x 6 Paper Pack that made the La-La Land Crafts Birthday Cake Molli image pop on the paper.  I love the way it turned out.  Happy Birthday Abigail.

The image is a digital stamp and was printed on Neena Classic Crest 80# Solar White Cardstock with a LaserJet printer to ensure it wouldn’t bleed when colored with Copic Markers (colors listed below).  The Silhouette Cameo PIXScan Mat was used to cut around the image once it had been colored.

The patterned paper was cut with the rectangle from Simon Says Stamp Bundle of Stitched Shapes and adhered directly to a top folding A2 cardbase made from Gina K. Designs 120# White Cardstock with Kokuyo Dotliner Adhesive.

A My Favorite Things Stitched Oval Frame was cut from white cardstock to draw attention to the focal image.  To add dimension 3M 1/2″ Foam Tape was cut in half and adhered to the back and then adhered to the card front.

Foam Tape was added to the back of the focal image and before adhering it to the card front it was placed to determine where to stamp the secondary sentiment from Winnie & Walter Sentimental Birthday, which was stamped with VersaMark Ink and heat embossed with Hero Arts Detailed White Embossing Powder.  The focal image was then attached by removing the backing of the foam tape and the card was done.

Stitched Leaves Birthday Card

I love the stamp Stitched Leaves by Gina K. Designs.  You can either stamp a solid image of each leaf, or you can stamp the outline only for a beautiful fall card.  For this card I created a watercolor background using Distress Inks and stamped the outline image with VersaMark Ink and heat embossed them with Ranger Fine Detail Gold Embossing Powder.  I love the multi colored look of each leaf.

To create this card Canson XL 140# Watercolor Paper was covered with Distress Ink Candied Apple, Wild Honey, Fossilized Amber, Spiced Marmalade, Twisted Citron, and Peeled Paint.  Each color was randomly applied onto the watercolor paper by directing smooching the ink pads all over the paper.  The paper was saturated with a spray bottle of water so that the colors would blend together.

When everything was completely dry an anti static pad was used to liberally coated the surface of the watercolored paper to ensure the embossing powder would only stick to the stamped images.  The leaf images were stamped with VersaMark Ink, heat embossed with Ranger Fine Detail Gold Embossing Powder, heat set with the Marvy Embossing Tool, and die cut with the matching dies.

An A2 top folding cardbase was made from Gina K. Designs 120# Ivory Cardstock and the front was dry embossing using the Darice Wood Grain Embossing Folder.  The leaves were then arranged into a grouping and adhered to the front with Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive and 3M 1/2″ Foam Tape for the top maple leaf.

The sentiment is from the Mama Elephant Birthday Script Die and was cut from Paper Accents Gold Mirror Cardstock.  It was cut an additional four times from Gina K. Designs 80# Ivory Cardstock and adhered together with Elmer’s Craft Bond Spray Adhesive.  The secondary sentiment from the Winnie & Walter The Big, The Bold, and Party stamp set was stamped on a scrap of red cardstock with VersaMark Ink and heat embossed with the same gold embossing powder.  The die cut birthday was adhered to the card front with Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive and the secondary greeting was adhered over it with 3M 1/2″ Foam Tape and the card was done.

Fall Luminous Bouquet Birthday

Power Poppy’s Luminous Bouquet Digital Stamp has a very detailed center to the largest flower.  I printed it on Neena Classic Crest 80# Solar White Cardstock with an HP Printer and then cut an outline around the image with the PIXScan Mat and the Silhouette Cameo.

You have to color very carefully if when coloring a flower red with a yellow center if you don’t want the red to bleed into the yellow, but I like the combination.  Copic Markers R20, 422, 424, 427, 429; YR20, YR21, YR23; Y02, Y08, Y1Y; G00, G1, G19, YG04; BG000 were used to color the image.

I like when a smaller rectangle is used to set off a focal image, with a little bit of the focal image spreading over the edges.  Winnie & Walter’s Audrey Essential Die was used to create a scalloped rectangle to adhere the focal image to with Tombo Mono Multi Glue.  Darice Sticky Back Foam was used to trace the focal image and then adhered to the back.  The focal image was then adhered to the scalloped rectangle with Tombo Mono Multi Glue.

The focal image rectangle was placed on a side folding A2 cardbase made from Gina K. Designs 120# White Cardstock to determine where to stamp the sentiment from Gina K. Designs Peony Wishes with VersaMark Ink and heat embossed with Ranger Fine Detail Gold Embossing Powder and the card was done.

Rose & Chamomile Birthday Card

Frame dies are a beautiful way to set off a focal image on a card and make it pop from the page.

I began by printing the Power Poppy Rose & Chamomile Digital Stamp on Neena Classic Crest 80# Solar White Cardstock and then using the PIXScan mat ran it through the Silhouette Cameo to die cut around the image.

I knew that I wanted the flower arrangement to have pink and purple, with hints of yellow and so I when through my stash of patterned paper and found this pretty pink cardstock from Doodlebug Kraft in Color 6 x 6 Paper Pad.  It was die cut using the WPlus9 Gift Card Layers Rectangle, which cut a rectangle exactly the size of an A2 top folding cardbase.  It was adhered to the cardbase using Kokuyo Dotliner Adhesive.

My Favorite Things Stitched Oval Frame was used to create a frame for the focal image.  3M ½” Foam Tape was cut in half so that it would be a narrow strip and adhered to the back of the frame.  It was placed on an A2 top folding cardbase made from Gina K. Designs 120# White Cardstock to determine where to stamp the sentiment from Winnie & Walter Sentimental Birthday with Hero Hues Onyx Black Ink.  In looking back on the card, I think it would have looked better to heat emboss it with white embossing powder, but I still like the look of the card.

The backer paper was removed from the foam tape and the oval frame was adhered to the card front.  3M ½” foam tape was placed strategically on the back of the flower arrangement so that it would rest upon the frame, but still be supported underneath in the open areas.  It turned out to be a pretty card.

Have a Fabulous Birthday Jennifer

I’m having total hip replacement the end of October and thought that it would be best to make all the birthday cards for the young women in our ward throughout the end of the year.  All the cards I made for the young women are girl images, mostly from La-La Land Crafts.  This one is Fabulous Marci.  This is a digital image and was printed on Neena Classic Crest 80# Solar White Cardstock and then cut with the Silhouette Cameo and the PIXScan Mat.

This is a card that was made for Jennifer.  Her favorite color is blue and she has lovely long dark blond/light brown hair.  It was colored with Copic Markers (listed below).  To add some dimension to the card I accented the headband and roses with Silver Stickles.

To assemble the card I went through my stash of patterned paper and found this pretty Baby Blue Paisley paper from The Paper Studio.  It was die cut using the largest Lawn Fawn Small Stitched Rectangle.  Since the patterned paper has a little black detailing, Gina K. Designs 120# Black Cardstock was cut 1/8” larger and adhered to the back with Kokuyo Dotliner Adhesive.  It was then adhered to a top folding A2 cardbase made from Gina K. Designs 120# White Cardstock with Tombo Mono Multi Glue.

The sentiment consists of a die cut from the Sizzix Celebrate pack, which was cut three times from black cardstock and adhered together using Elmer’s Craft Bond Spray Adhesive.  To determine placement the focal image was laid on the patterned paper, along with the die cut word, and the secondary sentiment from Winnie & Walter The Big the Bold and Party was stamped with Hero Hues India Ink Black.  The “birthday” die cut was adhered above using Ranger Multi Medium Matte.  3M ½” Foam Tape was added to the back of the focal image and then adhered to the card front and the card was done.

Ella is a young lady turning twelve this year.  She will be joining the young women organization the first of November.  She has two big sisters already in young women’s and if very excited to be joining them.  She has long blond hair and her favorite color is coral.

The focal image is a digital stamp from La-La Land Crafts called Birthday Gift Molli.  It was printed on Neena Classic Crest 80# White Cardstock and then die cut using the Silhouette Cameo and the PIXScan Mat.  The bench she is sitting on is from La-La Land Crafts called Garden Bench.  It was die cut with the same paper and colored with Copic Markers.

A rectangled of peach dotted paper was due cut using the rectangle from Simon Says Stamp Bundles of Stitched Shapes.  A rectangle 1/8″ larger was cut with a guillotine cutter out of Paper Accents Gold Mirror Cardstock and the two were adhered together with Tombo Mono Multi Glue.

A side folding A2 cardbase was made from Gina K. Designs 120# White Cardstock and the polka dot paper rectangle, the garden bench, and the focal image were adhered to the front using Ranger Multi Medium Matte.  The sentiment is from Winnie & Walter The Big, The Bold, and Party stamp and die and was cut from Paper Accents Gold Mirror Cardstock and adhered at the bottom of the cardfront.  The secondary greeting is from Winnie & Walter The Big, The Bold, and Party Stamp set and was stamped using Tusukineko Brilliance Gold Pigment Ink and the card was done.

Night Out Eliza Birthday

Eliza is a beautiful young lady inside and out and her favorite color is yellow.  I printed the La-La Land Crafts Digital Stamp Night Out Molli on Neena Classic Crest 80# Solar White Cardstock and die cut the image with the Silhouette Cameo using the PIXScan Mat.  The image was colored with Copic Markers (listed below).

I found some yellow polka dot paper in the Authentique Delightful 6 x 6 Paper Pack and die cut it using the Simon Says Stamp Bundle of Stitched Shapes Rectangle.  To draw attention to the focal image an oval of white cardstock was die cut using the My Favorite Things Stitched Oval STAX and then dry embossing with the Darice Flower Frenzy Folder.

The sentiment is the Papertrey Ink Wonderful Words Birthday die and was cut three times from Gina K. Designs 120# White Cardstock.  The thickness of the cardstock ensures you have good dimension with only three layers.  They were glued together using Elmer’s Craft Bond Spray Adhesive.

A top folding A2 cardbase was made from Gina K. Designs 120# White Cardstock and then all the elements were placed on the front to determine where to stamp the secondary sentiment from Winnie & Walter Sentiment Birthday Stamp with Hero Hues India Ink Black.  The yellow rectangle was adhered to the card front using the Kokuyo Dotliner Adhesive.  The oval was adhered using Tombo Mono Multi Glue, as well as the birthday die cut.  3M ½” Foam Tape was added to the back of the focal image and then adhered to the middle of the oval and the card was done.
