Hero Arts Birthday Balloons

I recently purchased Hero Arts Birthday Balloon.  I thought it would make great masculine cards.  For this card I decided to stamp it three times in rainbow colors using Altenew inks onto Neena Classic Crest 80# Solar White Cardstock.  I planned to cut it with the Silhouette using the PixScan Mat, but what I found was that it doesn’t work without a black outline and so I scanned it instead and brought it in as a .jpg image and then cut out the balloons.  I used the balloon strings from Lawn Fawn Party Balloons and ink blended them to match the balloons.  Using a  scrap of white cardstock and ink blended it with the same Altenew Inks using sponge daubers and then die cut one of the words for the WPlus9 Happy Trio Die.

To assemble the card I found some matching green plaid paper in the Perfectly Plaid Rainbow 6 x 6 Paper Pad and die cut it with the Rectangle from Simon Says Bundle of Stitched Shapes.  Another rectangle was die cut from white cardstock using the largest Lawn Fawn Small Stitched Stackable Rectangle.  The two rectangles were adhered together with the Kokuyo Dotliner Adhesive and Darice Sticky Back Foam was cut with the Lawn Fawn rectangle and adhered to the back.  It was then adhered to a top folding A2 cardbase made from Gina K. Designs 120# White Cardstock.

The balloons and word die were placed on the card front to determine where to stamp the secondary greeting from Winnie & Walter Sentiment Birthday.  Two of the balloons and strings were adhered to the card front with Tombo Mono Multi Glue and the third had 3M ½” Foam Tape added to the back for dimension.  Foam Tape was added to the back of the die cut word and adhered to the card front as the card was done.

Happy Birthday Bouquet

When I am stamping floral images I usually have leftover that I keep in a little box under my desk.  My granddaughter was over and using some of them and I decided to pull some of them out and use them as well.  It has a lot of different flowers from Simon Says Stamp Look for the Miracles, Gina K. Designs Peony wishes, and WPlus9 Freehand Florals.  I used some Copic Markers (listed below) to add shading and some Doodlebug Sprinkles for the center of the larger flowers and to scatter around the focal image.

I die cut a rectangle using the Winnie and Walter Audrey Essentials Die.  I love the scalloped edge that it gives.  To add focal interest I ran it through the Big Shot with a new Cuttlebug Embossing Folder entitled Charles.  I think the dotted chevron is very pretty.

I arranged the flowers the way I liked them and pulled out some Press and Seal to hold them all together while I added Tombo Mono Multi Glue to the back.  This is such an effective way to get your flower arrangement in place.  3M ½” Foam Tape was added to the blue flower for a little dimension.

The sentiment is from Gina K. Designs Peony Wishes and was stamped on Gina K. Designs 120# Black Cardstock with VersaMark Ink and heat embossed with Gina K. Designs Fine Detail White Embossing Powder.  The ends were cut into fishtails and 3M ½” Foam Tape was cut in half and applied to the back.

A side folding cardbase was made from Gina K. Designs 120# White Cardstock.  Darice Sticky Back Foam was cut just smaller than the scalloped rectangle and then adhered to the cardbase with Tombo Mono Multi Glue.

Freehand Florals Encouragement Card

Sometimes we all need a reminder to not be so hard on ourselves, to believe that what we are doing is enough.  We can’t solve everything, sometimes we cannot make things better for those we love, but we have strength beyond what we know, we just need to believe in ourselves.

This is another of those stamp sets that have been sitting on my shelf just waiting for me to use it.  I found lining up these layering stamps was a little more challenging than others I’ve worked with.  It took a few tries, but I finally got it to where I was okay with the outcome.

The favorite colors of the person this card was created for is pale blue and silver and so those were the predominant colors used.  I began by stamping the images on Gina K. Designs 80# White Cardstock with Altenew Ink.  Before stamping the flowers I used VersaMark ink to season the stamp.  I saw this tip I think on Jennifer McGuire’s YouTube Channel.  Once you have a good coating of VersaMark on the stamp you wipe it off with a cloth or your hand and it will give you a crisper image.  The Altenew Inks used are:  Sea Glass, Ocean Waves, Dusk, Frosty Pink, Cotton Candy, Soft Lilac, Lavender Fields, Frayed Leaf, Forest Glade.  The last layer was stamped with VersaMark Ink and heat embossed with Ranger Detailed Silver Embossing Powder.  Once stamping was complete I die cut the flowers and leaves with the matching dies.

I knew I wanted to use a die cut word and originally thought I had the word amazing, but alas when I searched I didn’t (will have to get that soon) and so I used Simon Says Stamp Believe stamp and die set.  I die cut the word from Paper Accents Silver Mirror Cardstock and then three more times from white cardstock and adhered them together using Elmer’s Craft Bond Adhesive Spray.

It was now time to assemble the card.  I die cut some 80# white cardstock with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangles and arranged the flowers and word die cut where I wanted them so that I could determine the placement for the secondary sentiments, which is from the same Simon Says Stamp Believe stamp set.  I stamped the sentiment with VersaMark Ink and heat embossed with Ranger Detailed Silver Embossing Powder.  The flowers and leaves were adhered with Tombo Mono Multi Glue, which the exception of the large blue flowers which were adhered with 3M ½” Foam Tape.  I added Darice Sticky Back Fun Foam to the back of the focal image rectangle and adhered it to a top folding A2 cardbase made from Gina K. Designs 120# White Cardstock with Tombo Mono Multi Glue and this clean and simple card was done.

WPlus9 Watercolored Anemones Birthday

I liked the outcome from my previous card made with WPlus9 Watercolored Anemones and wanted to create a birthday card with a little more color.  I like the look of the blue flowers and multi colored green stems.

This time I stamped the bouquet with Altenew’s Frayed Leaf on 80# Gina K. Designs White Cardstock to use as a background for assembling the separately stamped individual flowers and leaves, which were stamped on another piece of cardstock and then cutout with the matching dies.  The die cuts were glued to the stamped bouquet with Tombo Mono Multi Glue and then the finished bouquet was fussy cut with scissors.

It was time to determine the layout of the card.  A scalloped oval was cut with Spellbinders Classic Scalloped Ovals from Gina K. Designs 80# White Cardstock.  A rectangle was also die cut from the same cardstock with Lawn Fawn’s Small Stitched Stackable Rectangles.  Both were ink blended with Distress Ink Stormy Sky applied with the Inkylicious Ink Blending Brush.  Darice Adhesive Fun Foam was added to the back of both.

I wanted to use some gold on this card and so I decided on Delicata Celestial Copper Ink for the flower centers and sentiment.  The sentiment is from Gina K. Designs Sentiment Bouquet and was stamped on the bottom of the Lawn Fawn rectangle.

A top folding A2 cardbase was made from Gina K. Designs 120# White Cardstock and the Lawn Fawn rectangle was adhered with Tombo Mono Multi Glue the fun foam.  3M 1/2″ Foam Tape was added to the back of the bouquet focal image and applied to the scalloped oval with Tombo Mono Multi Glue and then applied to the rectangle with the same glue. Sequins from Doodlebug Designs Swimming Pool and Simon Says Stamp Sparkle and Shine were scattered on the front of the focal image, applied with Ranger Multi Medium Matte, and the card was done.

WPlus9 Watercolored Anemones Sympathy

I love Wplus9 flower stamps.  I recently purchased their Watercolored Anemones and dies and thought they would make a pretty sympathy card. When making a sympathy card I like to mix a pop of color with more subdued colors as well.  I liked the look of the tangerine and grey.

The stamp set comes with a bouquet of leaves and flowers and then there are individual layered flower stamps.  I stamped the bouquet with Altenew Silver Stone Ink on Gina K. Designs 80# White Cardstock.

The sentiment is from Gina K. Designs Sentimental Bouquet and was stamped with Altenew Industrial Diamond ink and placed at the bottom of the grey bouquet.  Next the focal image was die cut with My Favorite Things Pierced Oval STAX and Darice Adhesive Fun Foam was added to the back.

The individual flowers were stamped with Altenew Rouge and Crimson on 80# Gina K. Designs White Cardstock.  The flower centers were stamped with Hero Hues India Ink Black and then cut with the matching dies with the Sizzix Big Shot.  The lower flower was glued to the focal image oval with Tombo Mono Multi Glue and the upper flower was adhered with 3M 1/2″ Foam Tape for a little dimension.

For the card base a rectangle of Gina K. Designs 120# Navy Cardstock was cut with the Lawn Fawn Small Stitched Stackable Rectangles and Darice Adhesive Fun Foam was added to the back.  Another rectangle was cut from Gina K. Designs 80# White Cardstock with my paper trimmer 1/8″ larger than the Lawn Fawn rectangle.  A third rectangle of Navy cardstock was cut 1/8″ larger than the white panel.  A top folding A2 Cardbase was made from Gina K. Designs 120# White Cardstock.  All the panels were adhered together using Tombo Mono Multi Glue.  Pretty Pink Posh Metallic Silver Sequins were added to finish the card.

Concord & 9th Hello Lovely Sympathy

This is the second card I made with Concord & 9th Hello Lovely Stamp.  It made a beautiful sympathy card.

This time I kept the colors more subdued, mainly keeping the flowers white with very light purple accents.  Supplies and Copic colors used are listed below.

After completing the coloring I die cut the image with the Lawn Fawn Small Stitched Stackable Rectangles.  I then cut another rectangle from Gina K. Designs 120# Black cardstock using Simon Says Stamp Bundle of Stitched Shapes Rectangle and adhered the two together with Tombo Mono Multi Glue.

For the sentiment I die cut the Winnie & Walter the Big, the Bold, and Comfort Sympathy from Paper Accents Silver Mirror Cardstock and three times from scrap black cardstock. These were adhered together using Elmer’s Craft Bond Adhesive Spray.  I placed the cutout sentiment on the focal image to determine placement of the secondary sentiment, which is from Altenew’s Sentiments & Quotes, stamped with VersaMark Ink and heat embossed with Ranger Silver Embossing Powder.

The focal image panel was adhered to a side folding A2 cardbase made from Gina K. Designs 120# White Cardstock with Darice Adhesive Fun Foam for added dimension.  The die cut word was attached to the card front with Tombo Mono Multi Glue and the card was done.

Different colors can make the same stamp have a completely different feel.  I love the pretty fall colors in this card.

To add interest to the card a panel of Gina K. WPlus9 Beautiful Bouquet Dahlias Sympathy

I love all of WPlus9’s Beautiful Bouquet Stamps.  This card uses the Dahlias, which make a lovely sympathy card.

Unfortunately we all need sympathy cards.  I really like the color combination of this card.  I cut an outline of the Dahlias with my Silhouette Cameo and then stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink since I was using Copic Markers (see colors below).

Since the stamped image is the focal point using an embossing folder adds interest to a clean and simple card.  A panel was cut from Gina K. Designs 80# White Cardstock with the largest rectangle from Lawn Fawn Small Stitched Stackable Rectangles and then embossed with the Darice Basketweave Embossing Folder.  The embossed panel was adhered to the front of an top folding A2 cardbase made from Gina K. Designs 120# White Cardstock with Darice Adhesive Fun Foam and Tombo Mono Multi Glue. The focal image was adhered to the embossed panel with 3M 1/2″ Foam Tape.

Pure Innocence Scientist Birthday Card

I am surrounded my scientists in my household.  My husband’s degree is in biology, my oldest daughter has a degree in bio chemistry and her husband is a physical therapist, my oldest son has a doctorate in geo physics and his wife has a masters in geology, my youngest son’s degree is in chemistry, along with his beautiful wife, and my youngest daughter is a pediatrician.  And then there’s me who doesn’t do anything with science, went to secretarial college, and loves to create.  Go figure.

Both of my daughters-in-law have birthdays in November.  I am always looking for stamp sets that I think my children and grandchildren would like.  This card was made with My Favorite Things Pure Innocence and Undeniable Chemistry and is for Monica.

00296w

I took some Canson XL 140# Cold Press Watercolor Paper and prepped it with an anti-static pad since I planned to emboss a background for the card.  I randomly stamped the chemical symbols from My Favorite Undeniable Chemistry, added Ranger Silver Embossing Powder and heat set with the Marvy Embossing Tool.

Since Monica’s favorite colors are burgundy and black I used Candied Apple, Seedless Preserves, Aged Mahogany, Hickory Smoke and Black Soot to ink blend the panel.  It was glued to a top folding cardbase made from Gina K. Designs 120# Black Cardstock.

The image from My Favorite Things Pure Innocence was stamped on Gina K. Designs 80# White Cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink since I planned to color it with Copic Markers (colors are listed below).  Once the image was colored it was run through the Sizzix Big Shot with the second Lawn Fawn Small stitched Stackable Rectangles.  A rectangle of Recollection Silver Mirror Cardstock was cut 1/8″ larger than the focal image and glued together with Tombo Mono Multi Glue.

Using Winnie & Walter the Big, the Bold and Party stamp set “birthday” was stamped in the lower right of the focal panel. WPlus9 Happy Trio was die cut from both Recollections Silver Mirror Cardstock and Darice Adhesive White Fun Foam and adhered together with Tombo Mono Multi Glue and then to the focal image.

Darice Adhesive White Fun Foam was glued to the back of the focal image and adhered to the background panel with Tombo Mono Multi Glue and the card was done.
