Copic Colored Zen Bouquet Birthday Card

Recently I decided to stamp a lot of my flower stamp sets and set them aside so I would have them to make a quick card when needed.  I decided to stamp them once on Neena Classic Crest 80# Solar White Cardstock, once on vellum with gold embossing power, and a third time on vellum with white embossing powder.  The next few posts will show how different the same stamp can look when created with these different mediums.

Below is the Honey Bee Zen Bouquet stamped on Neena Classic Crest 80# Solar White Cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink.  This is a huge image measuring about 5 3/4″ in diameter.  For this card I decided to create a 6″ x 6″ cardbase from Gina K. Designs 120# White Cardstock and then used her Black Cardstock as a background for the stamp, cut 1/8″ smaller.  I colored the image using Copic Markers.  It looks striking on the black background.

Once the image was colored it was die cut using the matching die and then cut again from Darice Sticky Back Foam.  The foam was trimmed down so that it wouldn’t show when adhered to the back of the image and then adhered to the black square with Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive.

The sentiment from Clearly Besott

ed Butterfly Wishes was stamped on Paper Studio Vellum with VersaMark Ink and heat embossed with Ranger Fine Detail Gold Embossing Powder.  It was wrapped around the flower image and adhered to the back of the black rectangle with Scotch Tape.  The focal image panel was then adhered to the front of the 6″ x 6″ cardbase with Be Creative Tape.  To add a little more visual interest to this large image one of the butterflies from the Clearly Besotted Butterfly Wishes set was stamped with Gina K. Designs Blue Lagoon Ink and adhered to the left of the sentiment strip.  Using Martha Stewart’s Butterfly Trio Punch two additional butterflies where adhered, which were colored with Gina K. Designs Sweet Corn and Bubblegum ink and the card was done.
