Foiled Have an All-Star Birthday

I have a lot of background panels that I have created white experimenting the the Crafter’s Companion FoilPress. It has been so much fun seeing how all these different dies turn out. Most do a wonderful job.

For this card I used the Memory Box Starry Night Background Die. It was foiled onto ivory cardstock with gold hot foil and then cut down with a stitched rectangle die.

Going with the look of the background I pulled out a Spellbinders Star Die and cut it from gold mirror cardstock. I liked the way it looked, but on the same magnetic panel I had the Simon Says Stamp Vented Star Die. It was the exact same shape as the Spellbinders star and so I decided to emboss it into the mirror cardstock star.

I have the My Favorite Things Written in the Stars stamp and die and decided to cut the word “Star” from Tim Holtz Idea-ology Metallic Copper Craft Cardstock. This care some additional visual interest with the two different colors of gold mirror. The word was also cut from sticky back foam. Once the mirror word was adhered to the foam a gold Copic Marker was used on the side of the foam so that it would blend in better with the background and not show a stark white edge.

I didn’t have a stamp for the secondary sentiment I wanted to use, so I created it in Microsoft Word and printed it with a gold font. It was then cut into strips using a Simon Says Stamp Sentiment Label.

A mat of gold mirror cardstock was added to the starry night background and then adhered to a top folding ivory cardbase. The star was adhered on an angle with liquid glue and the word die cut was adhered below. The foam was cut away from the top of the “t” that overlapped the star so that it would be level. Strips of sticky back foam was added to the secondary banners and the card was done.
