Freehand Florals Encouragement Card

Sometimes we all need a reminder to not be so hard on ourselves, to believe that what we are doing is enough.  We can’t solve everything, sometimes we cannot make things better for those we love, but we have strength beyond what we know, we just need to believe in ourselves.

This is another of those stamp sets that have been sitting on my shelf just waiting for me to use it.  I found lining up these layering stamps was a little more challenging than others I’ve worked with.  It took a few tries, but I finally got it to where I was okay with the outcome.

The favorite colors of the person this card was created for is pale blue and silver and so those were the predominant colors used.  I began by stamping the images on Gina K. Designs 80# White Cardstock with Altenew Ink.  Before stamping the flowers I used VersaMark ink to season the stamp.  I saw this tip I think on Jennifer McGuire’s YouTube Channel.  Once you have a good coating of VersaMark on the stamp you wipe it off with a cloth or your hand and it will give you a crisper image.  The Altenew Inks used are:  Sea Glass, Ocean Waves, Dusk, Frosty Pink, Cotton Candy, Soft Lilac, Lavender Fields, Frayed Leaf, Forest Glade.  The last layer was stamped with VersaMark Ink and heat embossed with Ranger Detailed Silver Embossing Powder.  Once stamping was complete I die cut the flowers and leaves with the matching dies.

I knew I wanted to use a die cut word and originally thought I had the word amazing, but alas when I searched I didn’t (will have to get that soon) and so I used Simon Says Stamp Believe stamp and die set.  I die cut the word from Paper Accents Silver Mirror Cardstock and then three more times from white cardstock and adhered them together using Elmer’s Craft Bond Adhesive Spray.

It was now time to assemble the card.  I die cut some 80# white cardstock with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangles and arranged the flowers and word die cut where I wanted them so that I could determine the placement for the secondary sentiments, which is from the same Simon Says Stamp Believe stamp set.  I stamped the sentiment with VersaMark Ink and heat embossed with Ranger Detailed Silver Embossing Powder.  The flowers and leaves were adhered with Tombo Mono Multi Glue, which the exception of the large blue flowers which were adhered with 3M ½” Foam Tape.  I added Darice Sticky Back Fun Foam to the back of the focal image rectangle and adhered it to a top folding A2 cardbase made from Gina K. Designs 120# White Cardstock with Tombo Mono Multi Glue and this clean and simple card was done.
