Happy Birthday Mimi

This card was for a special young friend whose favorite color is red.  I tried using another image, but it just didn’t work out and so I pulled out the cut image from Penny Black Mimi’s Heart because it would be really easy to keep in the red color scheme.  It turned out cute.

The image was stamped on Canson XL 140# Watercolor Paper and then embossed with Hero Arts Ultra Fine Clear Embossing Powder.  A Sakura Watercolor Brush was used to color the image with Tombo Dual Brush Markers.  Colors used were: 025 Light Orange, 026 Golden Yellow856 Chinese Red, 845 Carmine, N567 Warm Grey 5, 451 Sky Blue, 020 Peach, 942 Tan.

The focal image was die cut using Lawn Fawn Small Stitched Stackable Rectangles.  When I went to place it on the card front I felt that it was too small to stand out, so I die cut a piece of Gina K. Designs 80# White Cardstock using the second Largest Lawn Fawn Large Sitched Stackable Rectangles and dry embossed it with the Lifestyle Crafts Chain Embossing Folder.  I pulled out a scrap of red cardstock and cut it with my paper trimmer to be 1/8” larger than the focal image and adhered the two together with Elmer’s Dot Runner Adhesive.  It was adhered to a top folding A2 cardbase made from Gina K. Designs 120# White Cardstock using Tombo Mono Multi Glue.

The sentiment is from Gina K. Designs Birthday Greetings and was stamped in VersaFine Black Ink at the bottom of the focal image and heat embossed with the same Hero Arts clear embossing powder.  Darice Sticky Back Foam was cut 1/8” smaller than the focal image and adhered to the back.  Once that was completed the focal image was adhered to the dry embossed panel with Tombo Mono Multi Glue.

As a final embellishment  Gold Stickles were used on the heart polka dots to add a little sparkle and shine and the card was done.
