Jane’s Doodles Lily Sympathy Card

When I am creating a sympathy card I like a clean and simple card design. I think it more appropriate to send this type of card to someone suffering the loss of a loved one. This image is from Jane’s Doodles Lily stamp set.

I began by arranging the single and double lily images onto the lower left corner of a quarter sheet panel of Gina K. Designs 80# White Cardstock, along with the sentiment, to determine placement.  I then stamped the large single lily image with Memento London Fog ink, and then stamped it a second time onto a full sticky backed Post-it to create a mask, which was fussy cut with my fine detail scissors.  Once the mask was in place I stamped the two lilies so that they would be behind the larger flower.  Using the MISTI I stamped the sentiment, which is from the Penny Black Eloquence stamp set.  The MISTI allows you stamp multiple times for a crisp image.

I searched the internet for images of lilies and then selected Copic Markers to give me the pink center to the flower images.  Colors used are listed below.  Once the image was colored, I wanted it smaller than an A2 cardbase and so I ran it through the Big Shot with the largest Lawn Fawn Small Stitched Stackable Rectangles.  I raided my stash of cardstock scraps and found a smoky gray and cut it 1/8″ larger than the die cut image and adhered the two together with Zookwang Scor-Tape.  Darice Sticky Backed Fun Foam was cut using the same rectangle die and adhered to the back with Be Creative Tape.

A top folding A2 cardbase was made from Gina K. Designs 120# White Cardstock.  The protective paper was removed from the fun foam and the panel was adhered to the front of the cardbase.  As a final touch I raided my stash of clear rhinestones and scattered a few on the front of the card, adhering them using Ranger Multi Medium Matte.

I am a very blessed wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. I firmly believe in the quote by Dieter F. Uchtdorf which states "The desire to create is one of the deepest yearnings of the human heart." Every day I try to create something that lifts the heart for myself and others.
