WPlus9 Watercolored Anemones Sympathy

I love Wplus9 flower stamps.  I recently purchased their Watercolored Anemones and dies and thought they would make a pretty sympathy card. When making a sympathy card I like to mix a pop of color with more subdued colors as well.  I liked the look of the tangerine and grey.

The stamp set comes with a bouquet of leaves and flowers and then there are individual layered flower stamps.  I stamped the bouquet with Altenew Silver Stone Ink on Gina K. Designs 80# White Cardstock.

The sentiment is from Gina K. Designs Sentimental Bouquet and was stamped with Altenew Industrial Diamond ink and placed at the bottom of the grey bouquet.  Next the focal image was die cut with My Favorite Things Pierced Oval STAX and Darice Adhesive Fun Foam was added to the back.

The individual flowers were stamped with Altenew Rouge and Crimson on 80# Gina K. Designs White Cardstock.  The flower centers were stamped with Hero Hues India Ink Black and then cut with the matching dies with the Sizzix Big Shot.  The lower flower was glued to the focal image oval with Tombo Mono Multi Glue and the upper flower was adhered with 3M 1/2″ Foam Tape for a little dimension.

For the card base a rectangle of Gina K. Designs 120# Navy Cardstock was cut with the Lawn Fawn Small Stitched Stackable Rectangles and Darice Adhesive Fun Foam was added to the back.  Another rectangle was cut from Gina K. Designs 80# White Cardstock with my paper trimmer 1/8″ larger than the Lawn Fawn rectangle.  A third rectangle of Navy cardstock was cut 1/8″ larger than the white panel.  A top folding A2 Cardbase was made from Gina K. Designs 120# White Cardstock.  All the panels were adhered together using Tombo Mono Multi Glue.  Pretty Pink Posh Metallic Silver Sequins were added to finish the card.

Concord & 9th Hello Lovely Birthday Card for Diane

I am the oldest of five girls in my family.  I also have two brothers, so I come from a wonderful, large, happy family.  My sister Diane’s birthday is on March 13 and her favorite colors are purple, blue, and hot pink.  I knew she would love a card made from Concord & 9th’s Hello Lovely stamp set and it turned out beautifully.

I began by stamping the image with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink on Gina K. Designs 80# White Cardstock.  The Copic colors used are listed below. I used a light blue to outline the image and I think it really makes it pop. Once the coloring was complete I ran it through the Sizzix Big Shot with Simon Says Stamp Bundle of Stitched Shapes Rectangle.

For the sentiment I used Technique Tuesday’s Say it Happy die, which also includes a shadow for the word die.  I cut the shadow from Gina K. Designs 120# Black Cardstock and the “happy” from Paper Accents Gold Mirror Cardstock.  The two were adhered together using Ranger Multi Medium Matte.  I placed the word die on the focal image to determine placement of the secondary sentiment, which is from Hero Arts Happy stamp set and was stamped with Hero Hues India Ink Black.

A top folding A2 Cardbase was made from Gina K. Designs 120# White Cardstock.  Darice Adhesive Fun Foam was added to the back of the focal panel, which was glued to the cardbase with Tombo Mono Multi Glue.   Sequins were added from Pretty Pink Posh Sugarplum Mix and Doodlebug Lilac Sequins.  A little sparkle and shine was added with Clear Wink of Stella and the card was done.

La-La-Land Crafts Birthday Marci

This card is made with another cute girl image from La-La-Land Crafts entitled Birthday Marci.  It too is for a young women at church and colored in her favorite colors.

I began by stamping the image with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink onto a quarter sheet of Gina K. Designs 80# White Cardstock.  The Copic Markers used are listed below.

Once I was done with the coloring I used a Lawn Fawn’s Large Stitched Stackable Rectangle to size down the image and added Darice Adhesive Fun Foam to the back for added dimension.  I die cut another rectangle from Gina K. Designs 80# White Cardstock and ran it through the Sizzix Big Shot Simon Says Stamp Bundle of Stitched Shapes Rectangle and again with the Sizzix Dotted Lattice Embossing Folder.  To pick up on the grey in the card I cut a rectangle from grey cardstock I had in my stash 1/8″ larger and adhered it to the back of the dry embossed panel with Tombo Mono Multi Glue.  The focal image was then glued to the embossed rectangle with the same glue.

I thought the sentiment from Penny Black’s Sprinkles and Smiles went perfect with the image.  I stamped it with VersaMark Ink on a scrap of the grey cardstock and heat embossed it with Gina K. Designs Fine Detail White Embossing Powder and cut it to size.  It was adhered on top of the focal image with 3M 1/2″ Foam Tape.  Sequins from the Pretty Pink Posh Sweetheart Mix were scattered on the card front and adhered with Ranger Multi Medium Matte and the card was done.

CTD432: Close to My Heart Hooray Bouquet

This is the third card I made inspired by the My Favorite Things Color Throwdown Challenge #432.

I have had the Close to My Heart Hooray Bouquet stamp set for a couple of years and never used it, so I decided it would work great for the challenge. The flowers were stamped with the Altenew Inks listed below on Gina K. Designs 80# White Cardstock.  As a background for the flower focal image I die cut a rectangle using Simon Says Stamp Bundles of Stitched Shapes from Gina K. Designs 80# White Cardstock.  I fussy cut the flowers with scissors and then die cut some leaves from a scrap of green and white polka dot paper using the Clearly Besotted Leafy Accents dies.

I then arranged the flowers and leaves into a bouquet that I liked and then used Press ‘n Seal to hold them together.  I tentatively placed the bouquet on the rectangle to determine placement for the sentiment from Close to My Heart Hooray Bouquet, which was stamped using the MISTI and Hero Hues India Ink Black.

Tombo Mono Multi Glue to the back bouquet and then carefully turned over to place it on the panel.  I held it in place for about 30 second to allow the glue to set and then gently removed the Press ‘n Seal.  The top layer of flowers where then adhered using 3M 1/2″ Foam Tape for added dimension.  I have a large stash of rhinestones and pearls embellishments and different size white pearls were used for the flower centers.

To complete the card an A2 Side Folding Cardbase was made from 120# Gina K. Designs White Cardstock and the focal image rectangle was adhered using Tombo Mono Multi Glue.

Supplies Used:

  • Close to My Heart Hooray Bouquet
  • Michael’s Rhinestone Pearls
  • Simon Says Stamp Bundles of Stitched Shapes (glued directly to cardbase)
  • Clearly Besotted Leafy Accents
  • Altenew: Ruby Red; Warm Sunshine; Autumn Blaze; Dusk
  • Hero Hues India Ink Black
  • Gina K. Designs 120# and 80# White Cardstock
  • 3M ½” Foam Tape

Picture for Color Throwdown:

Celebrating Matthew

One of my grandson’s turned 13 on the first of March.  I wanted to create something a little more grown up.  I decided to create a white-on-white background with cutout balloons from My Favorite Things Party Balloons and Lawn Fawn Party Balloons.  I glued them with Tombo Mono Multi Glue to a panel of 80# Gina K. Designs White Cardstock die cut with Simon Says Stamp Bundle of Stitched Shapes Rectangle.

His favorite colors are blue and green so those are the colors I incorporated in the die cut sentiment and sequins.  I ink blended a piece of 80# Gina K. Designs white cardstock with Distress Ink Blueprint Sketch, Chipped Sapphire, Faded Jeans, Mowed Lawn, Peeled Paint, and Twisted Citron.  I die cut the celebrate word with Winnie and Walter’s Big, Bold and Party set and then three more times from scrap white cardstock.  The words were glued together using Elmer’s Craft Bond Adhesive Spray.  The secondary sentiment is personalized with Concord & 9th’s Perfectly Penned, stamped with VersaMark Ink on a strip of ink blended cardstock, heat embossed with Gina K. Designs Fine Detail White Embossing Powder and cut into a fishtail banner.   The banner was adhered to the card front with Tombo Mono Multi Glue and then the die cut word was adhered just above using Ranger Multi Medium Matte.  Blue and green sequins from Recollections Multi Color and Multi Size Sequins were adhered with Rangers Multi Medium Matte.

To add a little more color to the card a rectangle of blue cardstock was cut to be 1/8″ larger than the balloon panel and both were adhered together with Tombo Mono Multi Glue.  A rectangle of Darice Adhesive Fun Foam was cut with Simon Says Stamp’s Bundle of Stitched Shapes Rectangle and then the panel was adhered to a top folding A2 cardbase made from Gina K. Designs 120# White Cardstock and the card was done.

CTD432: Simon Says Stamp Birthday Flowers

This is another stamp set that I purchased and had yet to use.  I liked the way it turned out.  The colors were inspired by My Favorite Things Color Takedown Challenge #432.

I started by stamping the images on Gina K. Designs 80# White Cardstock with Altenew Inks: Sea Glass, Ocean Waves, Ruby, Warm Sunshine, Forest Glades, and Jet Black.  For some of the flower centers I used Altenew’s Vintage Flowers.  I adding veining to the leaves with Copic Markers YG63 and YG67.  I then fussy cut them out with scissors.

From Gina K. Designs 80# White Cardstock I die cut an oval using My Favorite Things Pierced Oval STAX and an rectangle using Simon Says Stamp Bundle of Stitched Shapes.  The rectangle was run through the Sizzix Big Shot with the Darice Basket Weave Embossing Folder.

The flower and leaves were arranged across the top of the landscape oval to determine placement of the sentiment.  The sentiment is from Clearly Besotted Stylish Sentiments and was stamped with VersaMark Ink and heat embossed with Rangers Fine Detail Gold Embossing Powder.  Next the flowers and leaves were adhered using Tombo Mono Multi Glue and 3M 1/2″ Foam Tape.

An oval of Darice Adhesive Fun Foam was die cut and trimmed down to be added to the oval for added dimension on the card.  The embossed rectangle was adhered to a side folding A2 Cardbase made from Gina K. Designs 120# White Cardstock with Tombo Mono Multi Glue and then the focal center oval was adhered with the same glue.  I decided to add Nuvo Chrystal Drops Ebony Black to the flower centers.  A pin was used to draw the uneven centers outward and then Clear Wink of Stella was added for sparkle and shine and the card was done.

  • Simon Says Stamp Sentimental Bouquet
  • Altenew Vintage Flowers (Centers)

CTD432: Hero Arts Flowers for You

I am always intimated about participating in My Favorite Things Color Throwdown Challenges, but the card below turned out so pretty that I decided to give it a try.

If you are like me, you see these amazing videos of new product and you just have to have it and then I don’t use it right away.  I gave myself a challenge to use all of my floral stamps that I have not yet used.  One of them was Hero Arts Flowers for You.  This is a flower layering stamp set and I love the Altenew inks for this process because they are made to help you be successful in picking three colors that go well together.

I stamped the flowers on Gina K. Designs 80# White Cardstock with the ink colors listed below and then fussy cut them with scissors.  I then cut a panel from the same cardstock with Lawn  Fawn Small Stitched Stackable Rectangles and ran it through the Sizzix Big Shot with the Sizzix Dotted Lattice Embossing Folder.

The sentiment is from Clearly Besotted Fancy Sayings and I forgot to stamp it prior to embossing the panel, but with the MISTI I was able to get a clean image by stamping a couple of times.

I arranged the flowers on the lower left corner of the panel and took a picture with my cell phone so that I could adhere them in the same pattern.  I used Tombo Mono Multi Glue for all of them except the large blue and red flowers, which were adhered using 3M 1/2″ Foam Tape.  For added interest I used Stickles Tidings to create the flower centers and I love the sparkle.

The embossed panel was adhered to a top folding A2 Cardbase made from Gina K. Designs 120# White Cardstock with Tombo Mono Multi Glue and the card was done.

Products Used:

  • Hero Arts Flowers for You
  • Clearly Besotted Fancy Sayings
  • Altenew Inks: Rouge, Crimson, Velvet; Buttercream, Mango Smoothie, Warm Sunshine; Caribbean Sky, Persian Blue, Sapphire; Forest Glad, Evergreen, Frayed Leaf

La-La-Land Crafts Love You Molli Birthday

La-La-Land Crafts has some great stamps with girl images that I use for birthday cards.  I recently purchased Love You Molli and created a card for a young woman at church with her favorite colors.

I stamped the image on 80# Gina K. Designs White Cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  I then die cut the image using Spellbinders Long Classic Rectangle, but ran it through again to make it a little shorter so it would fit better on the card front.

I colored the image using Copic Markers, colors used are listed below.  I gave her ground to stand on with C3, C2, and C1.

I die cut a panel of 80# White Cardstock with Simon Says Stamp Bundle of Stitched Shapes Rectangle and then found a matching blue cardstock and cut it with my paper trimmer to be the same size as an A2 card front (4 1/4 x 5 1/2).  To add some added interest I ran the white rectangle through the Sizzix Big Shot with the Darice Basketweave Embossing Folder and then adhered it to the blue rectangle with Tombo Mono Multi Glue.  Both were then adhered using the same glue to a top folding A2 size cardbase made from Gina K. Designs 120# White Cardstock.

The Sentiment is from Papertrey Ink Stylish Sentiments: Birthday and was stamped on a scrap of blue cardstock with VersaMark ink and heat embossed with Gina K. Designs Fine Detail White Embossing Powder and then trimmed to fit across the focal image panel.

Darice Adhesive Fun Foam was cut 1/8″ smaller than the focal image and then both were adhered to the front of the card with Tombo Mono Multi Glue.  Sequins from Doodlebug Design Swimming Pool and Pretty Pink Posh Metallic Gold were scattered and adhered to the panel with Ranger Multi Medium Matte and the card was done.

Hero Arts Color Layering Gold Fish Birthday Wishes

My son-in-law Troy is an avid fish lover.  He has a huge salt water aquarium with beautiful fish and anemones. Every year for his birthday we give him a gift card that he uses to add something beautiful to his tank, so I try to make his birthday cards with a fish and water theme. This year I used Hero Arts Color Layering Gold Fish and I liked the end product.

I began by making a frame with My  Favorite Things Pierced Rectangle Frames die and then cutting a piece of 80# Gina K. Designs White Cardstock just smaller to create a shaker card.  I used Ranger’s mini ink blending tools to ink blend  a blue background with Distress Ink Salty Ocean, Tumbled Glass, and Broken China.  I ink blended the frame using the Distress Inks.  The sentiment is from Clearly Besotted It’s Your Birthday and was stamped a couple of times with Salty Ocean.  I added a rectangle of Office Depot Binding Acetate Sheet cut 1/8″ smaller than the frame with 1/8″ Scor Tape.  Next a double layer of 3M 1/2″ Foam Tape, cut in half to be narrow enough not to show, was added behind the frame. Mikuki Seed Beads in Honey Butter and Gold was sprinkled into the frame for sand and the ink blended panel and frame were adhered together.

The seaweed was ink blended with Distress Inks Crushed Olive and Peeled Paint and die cut with the matching dies.  Originally I planned to put these inside the shaker, but I completely forgot and so they were applied to the front of the acetate panel with Scor Tape.

The gold fish were stamped with Hero Hues Pastel Peach, Butter Bar, and Wet Cement and die cut with the matching dies.  The two smaller fish were adhered to the front of the shaker with Score Tape and the largest with given added dimension with 3M 1/2″ Foam Tape.

The shaker panel was adhered to a side folded A2 cardbase made from 120# Gina K. Designs White Cardstock and the card was done.

Supplies Used:

  • Hero Arts Color Layering Gold Fish and dies
  • Clearly Besotted It’s Your Birthday
  • Hero Hues Pastel Peach, Butter Bar, and Wet Cement for fish
  • Distress Salty Ocean (background and frame), Tumbled Glass, Broken China, Crushed Olive, and Peeled Paint
  • My Favorite Things Pierced Rectangle Frames
  • Mikuki Seed Beads Honey Butter and Gold for sand
  • Office Depot Binding Acetate Sheets
  • Gina K. Designs 80# and 120# White Cardstock

Concord & 9th Hello Lovely Sympathy

This is the second card I made with Concord & 9th Hello Lovely Stamp.  It made a beautiful sympathy card.

This time I kept the colors more subdued, mainly keeping the flowers white with very light purple accents.  Supplies and Copic colors used are listed below.

After completing the coloring I die cut the image with the Lawn Fawn Small Stitched Stackable Rectangles.  I then cut another rectangle from Gina K. Designs 120# Black cardstock using Simon Says Stamp Bundle of Stitched Shapes Rectangle and adhered the two together with Tombo Mono Multi Glue.

For the sentiment I die cut the Winnie & Walter the Big, the Bold, and Comfort Sympathy from Paper Accents Silver Mirror Cardstock and three times from scrap black cardstock. These were adhered together using Elmer’s Craft Bond Adhesive Spray.  I placed the cutout sentiment on the focal image to determine placement of the secondary sentiment, which is from Altenew’s Sentiments & Quotes, stamped with VersaMark Ink and heat embossed with Ranger Silver Embossing Powder.

The focal image panel was adhered to a side folding A2 cardbase made from Gina K. Designs 120# White Cardstock with Darice Adhesive Fun Foam for added dimension.  The die cut word was attached to the card front with Tombo Mono Multi Glue and the card was done.
