Wishing You the Happiest of Birthdays

I ran across this pretty Peony digital stamp from Connie Fong and really think it turned into a pretty card.

I printed the image with my laser jet printer onto some Neena Classic Crest 80# Solar White Cardstock.  This ensures that the lines don’t bleed when coloring with Copic Markers.  Colors used were: RV14, RV13, RV11; V06, V04; G94, G24, G21; Y15, Y13, YR21; BG000, BG0000, 0.

I cut down the image using a My Favorite Things A2 Stitched Rectangle die and added Darice Sticky Back Foam for added dimension.

An A2 side folding cardbase was made from Gina K. Designs 120# White Cardstock.  I searched my sentiments to find one that would fit underneath the focal image rectangle on the cardbase.  I use one from My Favorite Things Celebrate Big and stamped it with Hero Hues India Ink Black.

The focal image was adhered to the cardbase using Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive and the card was done.

Blowing Birthday Wishes Your Way

I decided to create a card with a row of candles from Technique Tuesday Many Candles stamped in rainbow colors.  I like the way it turned out.

I stamped the images with Distress Oxide Inks: Twisted Citron, Mermaid Lagoon, Wilted Violet, Picked Raspberry, Fired Brick/Candied Apple, Carved Pumpkin, Fossilized Amber, Wild Honey4, R22; YR15, YR12; Y02, Y01; YR04, Y38, Y15.  I pulled out my Copic Markers to add some dimension to the edges (YG03, YG01; BG13, BG11; V17, V15, V12; RV13, RV11, RV10; R24, R22; YR15, YR12; Y02, Y01; YR04, Y38, Y15).

I used the PIXScan Mat and the Silhouette Cameo to cut around the candles so that I could pop them up using 3M 1/2″ Scotch Tape.  I die cut a rectangle from Neena Classic Crest 80# Solar White Cardstock using a My Favorite Things A2 Stitched Rectangle.  I arranged the candles on the rectangle to determine where to stamp the sentiment, which is from My Favorite Things Make a Wish with Hero Hues India Ink Black.

Darice Sticky Back Foam was added to the back of the rectangle and it was adhered to a side folding cardbase made from Gina K. Designs 120# White Cardstock and the card was done.

It’s Your Birthday – Eat Cake

I’ve had the CZ Designs Birthday Palooza stamp set for some time and hadn’t used it, so I decided to pull it out to make this card.  I really like how it turned out.

I stamped the cake and sentiment with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink since I planned to color them with Copic Markers.  Colors used were: E59, E57, E55; V09, V06, V04; B26, B24, B23; BG15, BG13, BG11; YG17, YG03, YG01; Y08, Y06, Y04; YR09, YR07, YR04; R29, R27, R24.  After coloring I die cut them with the matching dies.

I decided to keep this a clean and simple card.  I cut a rectangle of Neena Classic Crest 80# Solar White Cardstock with a My Favorite Things A2 Stitched Rectangle.  I matted it with a rectangle of turquoise cardstock and then added Darice Sticky Back Foam to the back.

I placed the cake and die cut sentiment on the rectangle to determine where to stamp the secondary sentiment.  Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive was used to adhere the rectangle to the cardbase and the card was done.

Celebrate: It’s Your Birthday

I was in need of some masculine birthday cards and so I decided to use the Sizzix Balloons and Cupcake die.  I cut it from both a royal blue and white cardstock I had in my stash.  Primary colors were used for the rest of the color pallet.

I decided to add some balloons with the cupcake and stamped the images using Distress Oxide Inks Fossilized Amber, Candied Apple, Blueprint Sketch.  I tied some Sulky Gold Metallic Thread to the balloons and adhered them to the back of the cupcake with some Scotch Tape.

A rectangle of Neena Classic Crest 80# Solar White Cardstock was die cut using a My Favorite Things A2 Stitched Rectangle.  The cupcake and balloons were placed on top to determine where to stamp the sentiment from SugarPea Designs Celebrate All Things, which was stamped in both the red and blue Oxide inks.  The cupcake and balloons were adhered to the card front using 3M 1/2″ Foam Tape.

A top folding A2 cardbase was made from Gina K. Designs 120# White Cardstock.  I decided that the focal image rectangle needed a little more pop to make it stand out and so I decided to mat it with some red cardstock that I had in my scraps.  I think it added the perfect splash of color.

For added visual interest I took a small waterbrush and painted some sprinkles on the frosting with the same Oxide inks.  As a final embellishment I added Stardust Stickles to the sprinkles and balloons and the card was done.

Birthday Balloon Wishes

I recently purchased the Sparkle ‘n Sprinkle New Balloon Bunch.  I love simple birthday images that can be used for masculine birthday cards.  I find them the most challenging to create.  For this card I decided to watercolor the image with ZIG Clean Color Real Brush Markers in a rainbow hue.

The sentiment is from the Ranger Letter It Birthday stamp set.  It was stamped with VersaFine Onyx Black Ink and heat embossed with Hero Arts Ultra Fine Clear Embossing Powder.

I cut the image down with a My Favorite Things A2 Stitched Rectangle die, matted it with a rectangle of turquoise cardstock I had in my stash.  Darice Sticky Back Foam was added to the back and the panel was adhered to a top folding A2 cardbase made from Gina K. Celebrate Your Special Day Cupcake

I have always loved the Whimsy Stamps Cupcake Trio.  I don’t think it is available anymore, but it makes a great masculine birthday card.  For this one I decided to use my Finetec Pearlescent Colours.

Because the Finetec Pearlescents are watercolors I stamped the image on a quarter sheet of Strathmore Bristol Smooth Cardstock with VersaFine Onyx Black Ink and heat embossed it with Hero Arts Ultra Fine Detailed Clear Embossing Powder.  I then watercolored the image with the Amethyst, Orange Copper, Pearl Silver, Pearl Gold, Sapphire Blue, Caribbean Green pallet.  When the image was colored I added fine splatters on the background with the same colors and a small watercolor brush.

The sentiment is from the SugarPea Designs Celebrate All Things stamp set and was stamped with the VersaFine Onyx Black Ink and heat set with the same clear embossing powder.

The image was sized down using a My Favorite Things A2 Stitched Rectangle.  A rectangle of Gina K. Designs Onyx Black Base Weight Cardstock was cut 1/8″ larger and adhered to the back with Kokuyo Dotliner Adhesive.  Darice Sticky Back Foam was added to the back for dimension and it was adhered to a top folding A2 cardbase base from Gina K.
