Spring Card Camp 2 Day 15 Easy Shaker Celebrate

The quest designer for day 15 of the Online Card Class Spring Card Camp 2 was Kristina Werner. Her technique was easy shaker cards. She cut circles from her cards and added a cut die cut image.

I went through my dies to see what I could use for a simple card and ran across this pretty Frilly Frame from Altenew. I thought it would make a lovely accent to a circle shaker.

I cut a circle from a quarter sheet of cardstock using a Hero Arts Infinity Circle Die that would be the exact same size as the center of the frilly frame. To add some visual interest I used the Stampin’ Up Subtle Embossing Folder. I die cut the frame from gold mirror cardstock and adhered it to the front of the die cut circle.

I pulled out an Ellen Hutson Essential Circle Die that was just larger than the circle opening. Rather than using foam tape for the dimension behind the shaker I decided to use sticky back foam. I cut two rectangles of foam and traced where the opening of the circle would need to be die cut on both rectangles of foam and then adhered them together. They were then adhered to the back of the card front with liquid glue. Gold sequins were added to the well of the shaker.

I decided to make this a black, white, and gold shaker and pulled out a patterned paper to add behind the shaker. It was adhered behind the shaker opening and then the double depth foam rectangles were added and the shaker was adhered to a top folding cardbase.

For the sentiment I pulled out the large “celebrate” die from My Favorite Things and cut it from both gold mirror and black cardstock and adhered them together with the black behind the gold and slightly offset so the black peeked out behind the gold. I fit perfectly underneath the frilly frame and the card was done.
