Spring Card Camp 2 Easy Watercolor Washes Let’s Party

For day 16 of the Online Card Class Spring Card Camp 2 Ashlea Cornell and Norine Borys were the guest designers and her technique was watercolor washes, creating beautiful, vibrant background with different mediums. For this watercolor wash Tombo Watercolor Pens were used, they gave a bright, vibrant blue wash.

For this card I pulled out this great die from Papertrey Ink and die cut it from the watercolor wash. I carefully safed all the positive pieces from the die cut so that I cut use them to create a second card that I will show below.

I decided to turn this card into a shaker. I cut a rectangle the same size as the die’s frame from acetate and adhered it to the back of the watercolor die cut with liquid glue. I then cut the die four more times from 110# cardstock and adhered them all together using spray adhesive. This create wells that I cut then add light blue seed beads into. I cut a second acetate rectangle and adhered it over the back of the balloon panel. I find this an easy way to seal the shaker. I tried some different patterned papers behind the shake, but finally decide to just adhered it to a slightly large stitched rectangle.

The front of the cardbase was embossed with the Darice Basketweave Embossing Folder, giving great visual interest to a white on white card.

Below is the second card I was able to make using the positive pieces of the die cut. I cut the die again from white cardstock, cut a rectangle the same size as the die cut and completely covered it with dotliner adhesive. I then adhered the die cut and added all the positive pieces into their appropriate places and a quick and easy two for one card was made. Blue sequins were scattered around the words of the die cut as a final embellishment.

You’ll have to let me know which one you like best.
