Spring Flowers and More Spring Flowers Hello Card

This past week I finally got the new Simon Says Stamp More Spring Flowers.  I already had the Spring Flowers stamp and die and wanted to create a card using both.  I’m ready for spring and liked the way it turned out.

I stamped the flower and leaf images on 80# Gina K. Designs White Cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink, which is Copic friendly and doesn’t bleed when coloring the images.  The Copic colors used were: Y11, Y15, Y18; B91, B93, B95; YG03, YG17, YG67; G20, G24, G46; RV11, RV13, RV14; V12, V15, V17.  I stamped multiple stems and stem and leaf combinations so that I could have options when assembling the flowers into a bouquet.

To add dimension and interest behind the flower bouquet I die cut a rectangle of 80# white cardstock with the largest Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangles and then ran it through the Big Shot again with the Lifestyle Crafts Chain Embossing Folder.

It was now time to determine the layout of the bouquet.  I began by placing the flower where I wanted them on the embossed rectangle.  Next I determined which stems and leaves would make the most pleasing arrangements.  Once this was complete I carefully would lift each stem and add a little Ranger Multi Medium Matte to adhere them together.  Once that was done I adhered the flowers to the appropriate stem.   A few leaves were added to balance the focal image.  I wanted the stems to be adhered directly to the embossed rectangle, but I thought it would add more interest if some of the flowers were lifted, so I added a strip of 3M ½” Foam Tape to the back of the rose, purple crocus, and the yellow flower.  I peeled the backing from the foam tape, added Ranger Multi Medium Matte to the stems and adhered the entire bouquet to the embossed rectangle.  To cover some of the stems at the bottom some die cut grass was added.

The sentiment is from Hero Arts Stamp & Cut Hello and was cut from 120# Gina K. Designs Black Cardstock and adhered to the bottom of the embossed rectangle with Ranger Multi Medium Matte.

A top folding A2 cardbase was made from Gina K. Designs 120# White Cardstock.  Darice Adhesive Fun Foam was cut using the largest Lawn Fawn Small Stitched Stackable Rectangle, which is just smaller than the embossed rectangle, and the foam was adhered to the back of the focal image panel.  Zookwang Scor-Tape was then added to the fun foam and the focal image was adhered to the front of the cardbase.  As a finishing touch, Spectrum Noir Clear Sparkle Glitter was added to the flowers.
