Stampin’ Up Angler Birthday Card

I have had the Stampin’ Up’s Angler stamp set for years and often used the collage of fishing equipment, but decided to use the image of the fishing boat this time. I created two different cards with the image, each similar but a little different in intensity of the colors used.

The image was stamped on Canson XL 140# Watercolor Paper with Distress Antique Linen Ink.  Using a watercolor brush pen Mowed Lawn, Broken China, Pumpice Stone, Candied Apple, Antique Linen, Stormy Sky, and Faded Jeans were used to color the image.

Since this is a small image, it was run through the Big Shot with a Lawn Fawn Stitched Stackable Rectangle to size it down a little.  The sentiment is from My Favorite Things Celebrate You and was stamped with Altenew Ocean Waves Ink.  I like how it can be seen, but blends into the color of the water.

I saw a video on YouTube showing how to make your own embossing paste and made several background with stencils that have been sitting around my craft room for quite some time.  I pulled out the one that was made with the Bo Bunny’s Morocco Stencil and like the added interest it gave to the focal image.

To adhere the focal image to the embossed rectangle Darice Sticky Back Foam was added to the back for dimension and then it was adhered using Tombo Mono Multi Glue.  A side folding cardbase was made from some deep teel blue cardstock I had in my stash.  The focal image was adhered to the front with Tombo Mono Multi Glue.  A little Clear Wink of Stella was added to the boat and the card was done.
