Special Birthday Wishes

I love the way you can get such depth to a image when you use the ZIG Clean Color Real Brush Markers. These yellow flowers only use on color, but you can have the color vary from deep yellow to a very pale yellow by the amount of water you use. That is what is so nice about watercoloring an image.

I get the best results with ZIG Markers on Bristol Smooth Cardstock, so I stamped the images with VersaMark Ink and heat embossed them in gold. Once the coloring was done the flowers and leaves were cut using the matching dies.

I decided to make a smaller decorative rectangle for behind the focal image because I was only using two flowers. At first I was going to put them in the lower left corner, but I liked the way the sentiment looked best when it was in that location so I changed the flower to be in the upper right.

Hope Your Day is As Special As You Are

I don’t think I’ve used this stamp set from Simon Says Stamp Before and I don’t know why, they are lovely flowers. I stamped all the flowers and leave with a VersaMark Ink and heat embossed them with gold embossing powder. When I do this is usually stamp stamp the images at least twice, this give me enough flowers for multiple cards.

For this card I colored them with a pink from the ZIG Clean Color Real Brush Makers and a couple of green. I love how you can get great variation in color simply by the amount of water you use with the color. I added the full strength pink at the base of each petal and starting from the tip of the petal and added water down to the color and allowed it to spread, keeping the tips a pale pink.

To add visual interest behind the focal image a rectangle was cut using the Spellbinders Fancy Edged Ovals. I love this die set, you can easily have a love solid scalloped oval, or you can create a pretty scalloped oval frame by adding another die. For this card I used the solid oval.

I planned where I was going to place the flower and leaves in order to know where to stamp the sentiment. I glued the flower together where they intersected so that I could add foam tape behind for dimension. The leaves were adhered directly to the oval with liquid glue.

The focal image rectangle was adhered to the front of a top folding A2 cardbase and the card was done.
