Technique Tuesday Cosmos Birthday

Technique Tuesday Cosmos is another stamp set that I have not used. When I searched for images of cosmos flowers there was an array of different colors, but the one I liked the most was white with deep pink/burgundy tips, so that it what I used for this card.

I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut an outline of the flower bouquet from Gina K. Designs 80# White Cardstock and then stamped the bouquet with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink.  The flowers were colored with Copic Markers, colors used are listed below.  The flowers I was using for inspiration had gold centers and so I used Stickles Tinsel and liked the sparkle it added.

To provide a frame for the flower focal point I used the Pretty Pink Posh Scalloped Rectangles to cut a frame from Gina K. Designs 80# White Cardstock.  3M 1/2″ Foam Tape was cut in thirds to be narrow enough to add dimension to the frame and not be seen.

An A2 top folding cardbase was made from some burgundy cardstock that I had in my stash.  A rectangle of Gina K. Designs 80# White Cardstock was cut using Simon Says Stamp Bundle of Stitched Shapes Rectangle and adhered to the cardbase with Tombo Stamp Runner Dot Adhesive.

The frame was placed on the rectangle to determine the placement for the sentiment.  The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink Inside & Out Birthday and was stamped with VersaMark Ink and heat embossed with Ranger Fine Detail Gold Embossing Powder.  The frame was adhered to the card front and then 3M 1/2″ Foam Tape was added to the back of the bouquet and then centered in the middle of the frame.

Concord & 9th Hello Lovely Birthday Card for Diane

I am the oldest of five girls in my family.  I also have two brothers, so I come from a wonderful, large, happy family.  My sister Diane’s birthday is on March 13 and her favorite colors are purple, blue, and hot pink.  I knew she would love a card made from Concord & 9th’s Hello Lovely stamp set and it turned out beautifully.

I began by stamping the image with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink on Gina K. Designs 80# White Cardstock.  The Copic colors used are listed below. I used a light blue to outline the image and I think it really makes it pop. Once the coloring was complete I ran it through the Sizzix Big Shot with Simon Says Stamp Bundle of Stitched Shapes Rectangle.

For the sentiment I used Technique Tuesday’s Say it Happy die, which also includes a shadow for the word die.  I cut the shadow from Gina K. Designs 120# Black Cardstock and the “happy” from Paper Accents Gold Mirror Cardstock.  The two were adhered together using Ranger Multi Medium Matte.  I placed the word die on the focal image to determine placement of the secondary sentiment, which is from Hero Arts Happy stamp set and was stamped with Hero Hues India Ink Black.

A top folding A2 Cardbase was made from Gina K. Designs 120# White Cardstock.  Darice Adhesive Fun Foam was added to the back of the focal panel, which was glued to the cardbase with Tombo Mono Multi Glue.   Sequins were added from Pretty Pink Posh Sugarplum Mix and Doodlebug Lilac Sequins.  A little sparkle and shine was added with Clear Wink of Stella and the card was done.
