Black, White, and Gold Statement Flower Celebrate

My husband asked me to create a card for his nephew’s oldest daughter who is getting married next week. Her colors are black, white, and gold. I like color and creating a card without any is a challenge. I guess you could say white is a color, but to not have any other colors with it is typically not something that I do. I decided to use the lovely Altenew Statement Flowers again for this wedding card.

I knew I wanted to use gold embossing on the image for the gold in Nikki’s colors, so I stamped the image with a light gray ink and left the stamp in place in my MISTI. Embossing powder is hard on your Copic Markers so I always stamp the image in a light ink for coloring and then stamp it again after the coloring is complete with VersaMark and then heat emboss it.

I only used gray Copic Markers for the flowers and leaves, adding the darkest shade to the leaves. After it was colored and heat embossed the images was die cut with the coordinating die. It was always die cut from sticky back foam and trimmed and adhered to the back of the colored image.

In keeping with Nikki’s colors I die cut a panel from black cardstock using a stitched rectangle and dry embossed it with Stampin’ Up’s Subtle embossing folder. It was adhered to a top folding A2 cardbase with liquid glue and the focal image was then adhered to the rectangle with liquid glue.

I pulled out My Favorite Things Celebrate die and cut it from gold mirror cardstock. This die does not come with a shadow so I created one in my Silhouette software by taking a picture of the word cut from black cardstock and placed on the PIXScan Mat. Once it was imported I added a .5 shadow to the word and cut it from black cardstock. The shadow and gold word were adhered together with liquid glue. Small pieces of foam tape was added to the back of the word that would hang off the focal image.

The final embellishment was to scatter gold sequins around the image and sentiment.

Congrats Jade and Stacy

My husband asked me to create a wedding card for his nephew who is getting married this month. I had just received the Altenew’s Anemone Coronaria stamp set and decided to use it for this card. It has lovely flowers.

This is a layering stamp set, but I chose to stamp the outline only and color it with Copic Markers. This is a second marriage for Jade and Stacy and they don’t really have any designated colors so I decided to use soft pinks.

I stamp first in a light gray ink, leaving the images in my MISTI. I’m glad I did because I decided to stamp again with VersaMark Ink and heat emboss it gold after coloring.

I arranged the flowers and leaves into a pretty bouquet and then placed Press’n Seal to hold it in place until it could be adhered to the card front. I decided to add a stitched rectangle that was embossed with the Stampin’ Up Subtle Embossing Folder. It adds a lovely soft texture to the cardstock. The leaves and back flower where adhered to this rectangle with liquid glue and the two front flowers with foam tape.

Since I had embossed the flowers with gold embossing powder I decided to cut the sentiment from gold mirror cardstock and adhered it over the flowers. The focal image embossed rectangle was then adhered to a side folding A2 cardbase and the card was done.

Congratulations Parker and Lindsey

We have friends whose son is getting married on January 4. Their colors are navy, burgundy, and silver. I love the Beautiful Flower stamps from Simon Says Stamp, but they are very large. I wanted to use the entire image and so I made a slightly larger card 6″ x 4 3/4″ from Gina K. Designs In the Navy Base Weight Cardstock. I first stamped the image on Neena Classic Crest 80# Solar White Cardstock with Ink On 3 Fade Out Ink and colored it with Copic Markers and then restamped with VersaMark Ink and heat embossed with silver embossing powder. Since I don’t have the coordinating die I used my Silhouette PIXScan Mat to cut the image.

For the card front I cut some more Solar White Cardstock 1/4″ smaller than the base and decided to add some stripes to the bottom using Simon Says Stamp Diagonal Strips Background. I masked off the top of the card with Post-it Tape, stamped the stripes with VersaMark and heat embossed with the silver embossing powder. I added a thin strip of Paper Accents Silver Mirror Cardstock above the stripes for a finished edge and cut the sentiment from the same cardstock adhering it to the top of the card front with Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive.

To focal image was adhered to the bottom of the cardbase using 3M 1/2″ Foam Tape, allowing the leaves on the side to extend beyond the cardbase. I used a 5″ x 7″ envelope and stamped the flower image at the bottom and heat embossed it for a matching envelope.

Beautiful Flowers Wedding Card

Whenever I create a wedding card I try to find out the colors the bride is using for her reception. This soft blush peachy pink is beautiful with the sage green leaves. Add a pretty gold mirror sentiment and you have a love card.

This flower image by Simon Says Stamp is large so for this card I decided to make a long card so that the entire flower stamp could be used. The card turned out to be 8 1/2 x 4.
