Vintage Flowers: Celebrate Your Special Day Birthday Card

I wanted to use the new orange inks from Altenew and decided to create a card with their Vintage Flowers and Dies.  I love the bright and colorful look of this card.

I began by stamping the images on 80# Gina K. Designs White Cardstock and then die cutting them with the matching dies.  It is quick and very easy to do, once you figure out how to align the layers.

To assemble the card I knew I wanted to use a background die to add interest behind the flowers.  I originally planned to remove all the cutouts from the Simon Says Stamp Triangle Pattern Die, but when I removed it from the Big Shot none of them popped out on their own.  I really liked the way it looked and decided to keep them all in place.  I immediately added some Darice Sticky Back Fun Foam to the back so solidify it as one piece.

I arranged the flowers so that I could determine placement of the sentiment, which is from My Favorite Things Birthday Greetings, and stamped it using the MISTI with Hero Hues India Ink Black.  The MISTI allowed me to stamp it a couple of times to get a crisp image on the uneven surface of the die cut panel.  The flowers and leaves were then adhered using both Tombo Mono Multi Glue and 3M ½” Foam Tape.

When I went to place it on a top folding A2 Cardbase made from Gina K. Designs 120# White Cardstock I felt that it needed a little more pop of color and so I die cut a piece of orange cardstock 1/8” larger than the rectangle and adhered it to the back of the rectangle.  The focal rectangle was then adhered to the cardbase with Tombo Mono Multi Glue.  Orange and yellow sequins from Doodlebug Bumblebee and Tangerine, along with Pretty Pink Posh Marigold and Tangerine were scattered on the card front and adhered with Ranger Multi Medium Matte, and the card was done.
